My fav part was Gen Clark pointing out we need clear policies directing what we are going to do to help Ukraine & why these are important. W/o clear direction, going nowhere.
there is only one policy. Ukraine has to get full support in everything. There are hundreds of Patriot batteries, 5000 Abrams and so on ... in stockpiles .
My fav part is this Ukrainian guy towards the end: All you need to dp to win the Africans, Asians and L. Ameicains is, send them some food, ans they'll all flock to our side and stick it to Putin, Xi & co.
Respect for the Lady from Finland. Absolutely true every single word She said. Also, sincere respect for gen. Clark. Wise words and must be heeded. Just like the advice from gen. Sir Shirreff, gen. Hodges and other experts should have been heeded from the very first day.
People on the panel made lots of common-sensical statements. Makes me wonder why we still are where we were 2 years ago? Where's the decisive statement of the democratic community that "Ukraine must win, and we will make it happen"?
How can you have missed the decisive statements? Sikorski: Putin loses, Ukraine wins and we get to be respected again. Alexander Litvinenko: Ukraine wins, Putin loses, Ukraine becomes not a pro-Western but a Western country. Another decisive one from Sikorski: "Putin might be going to Mexico and Brazil: let's get him" (But he spils it by wondering: do we have the balls ? No so decisive.." )
Commentator does not seem to understand that in democracies there is also the "internal autocracy" that is perhaps being encouraged by the structures of social media and their money-making logic as Sanna Marin said. Basically the social media money-model is inherently autocratic. To win the second cold war, we need social and economic structures that work against this "internal autocracy". Paradoxically, maybe the Western Economic model should return to the way it was during the Cold War I. After the Cold War businesses were let loose and they could make money without taxes or Rules. But now the "party is over". To win the Cold War II and defeat the "internal autocracy" the workers need a bigger slice of the economic pie. This has to be done in addition to rearmament to defeat the "external autocracy".
Thank you, first speaker. If Ukraine is not enabled to win, HANDS DOWN, goodbye democracy as we know it. Ukraine sheds it blood alone for every single one of us cheering them on from the sidelines. ...and thanks, too, to the second speaker.
If the West was serious about Ukraine, they would have announced conscription and deployed ground forces into Ukraine. Sikorski can do it with Polish forces. Why is he only talking and not doing? He doesn't have the balls to do it.
This lot is totally delusional. The world has changed and they refuse to notice. Instead, they plan to battle against the inevitable. Their hegemony is overm and all they can do is vituperate against the dawn...
The ex-president of Finland and others, bravo. Western values have been badly undermined to the point where there is little respect for such values remaining. This leads to disinterest and unwillingness to sacrifice for a higher good.
Western values: endless warsm genocides galore, in the hope of thereby regaining their world supremacy. This strangely deluded group seeking to shut the stable door after the horse has bolted and is galloping away across the fields...
Very diverse, indeed. You have, for instance, good old Dty Speaker Kornienko, with what he describes as a "philoso[hic" solution to this crisis of isoation: send some food and other charity supplies to the Africans, Asians and L. Ameicains, and they'll all joins us instead of flocking to Putin...
The problem of this panel is that Anne Applebaum says all that is important in her intro. Brilliant. Another issue, Niall Ferguson gets carried away by his ego. The older he gets the more his ego stands in the way of him being effective.

Balkans-Failure
Iraq- Failure
Afghanistán-Failure
Libya-Failure
Syria- Failure
Is there a single place in the world where Failure is not the result?
Balkans a failure? Please explain
Correct. But rhis group doesn't seen to realise that. They don't realisem in their agitatied minds, that the train has left the station...

Same argument was made against Iraq WMD. Jokers.
I particularly agree with what Sanna Marin has said.
Anne is so good.

Very good conference 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
We can't make it happen.
Because the public at large has not grasped nor been told what is about to unfold.
How can you have missed the decisive statements?
Sikorski: Putin loses, Ukraine wins and we get to be respected again.
Alexander Litvinenko: Ukraine wins, Putin loses, Ukraine becomes not a pro-Western but a Western country.
Another decisive one from Sikorski: "Putin might be going to Mexico and Brazil: let's get him"

@rose-mariemukarutabana9001 that's exactly my point - "not so decisive". Apart from "get Putin", I see no decisive action plan verbalised.
General Wesley Clark impressed me the most. He is clear eyed how to organize deterrence against an Imperialist Russia in contemporary times.

Ukraine is not a democracy.
100% 🇸🇪💞🇺🇦
Radosław Sikorski made a good point about EU countries getting around sanctions to trade with Russia, by tracking Euros to but a stop to it.
