in games that used light guns, the gun itself was only half of the peripheral needed to play the game, the other half was the old technology of crt televisions, since the technology exploited the combination of a receiver (the gun) that scans of the individual white pixels emitted at high frequency by the cathode ray tube to know where on the screen it was pointing given that in CRTs the image was composed pixel by pixel one line at a time while in modern flat screens LCD/Led/plasma/OLED and so the image is shown entirely at once the gun has no way of knowing where it is pointing
How do you not have 1 million subscribers. You deserve it. You put so Many money and time in your video’s everybody subscribe to him. Btw keep up the good work
Make sure you try the silent scope gun with an actual CRT tv next time. Original XBox was that era and that’s how old school light guns work. Modern TVs/monitors don’t work.
The gun probably didn't work because you might have to use an actual old-school TV. Maybe even up to the "HD Flat Screen" not like todays "Flat screen" TVs, I mean the ones with actual glass screens that were flat and didn't Buble out. I think I remember a friend having this same problem and having to find an old TV to play the game on. And when it came to the "HD DVD" vs "Blu-ray" wasn't just because Microsoft wasn't on the list. The HD DVD was some times as much as $20 less than it's Blu-ray counterpart. So they figured "If you have to buy all of your favorite movies again, the $200 pricetag would still save the consumer money." Especially since most people didn't even have a TV that you could truly tell the difference on yet. Again, this was still the time of TV screens being made of glass and were super bulky in the back. (BTW: Who remembers going to the store and seeing the regular DVDs for around $20 then the HD DVDs at about $30 and then the Blu-ray at $50-$60 a dang movie!? Another fun fact is that the very first ever movie EVER shot on a RED Camera (Do your research on them if you don't know. I'll just say that before RED to get a good movie quality camera you're looking at it up out $120,000+ But the RED at the time could shoot in Blu-ray quality AND HIGHER They actually almost came out with something called "RED-Rey" but the problem was we didn't have 4K TV back in like 05'-08' But you could get a RED camera for only $30,000-$50,000 and buy add-ons as you needed.) was the movie Death Race, for those that don't know what the movie is or also wasn't even born at this time. It was a movie about prisoners racing armored cars with weapons attached to them and if you got like 10 first place wins in a row, you would be released from prison, they didn't just do the races for no reason, they made a TV show out of it in the movie and it was the highest rated show of all time in that movies dystopian modern-day at that time. Critics didn't like the movie too much but it had enough of a cult following that they made a second and I believe even a third movie.
I miss these days. When games had specifically designed accessories and controllers, gadgets, etc. Back when some thought and care went into the player and not just money hungry corporate companies that pump out garbage every year.
I havnt watched a video off your channel yet but you look goofy but regular geeky but sober and your accent is amazing. So im sure i will love your content lol God Bless.
AAhhhh Steel Battalion controller. I remember geting that one 3 days early from my retailer halfway across the country, here in the Netherlands 🙂 That thing was epic! They actually wanted to put the eject button under glass but then you'd only be able to use it once. Also, the only way to puase the game was to disconnect the controller, as the developer stated 'you can't pause a war' 🙂
I had silent scope together with the gun controller, and I really did enjoy it. We went to the arcade and I walked passed silent scope and my dad said don't you want to play that because you like that game, I said no because I have it on my xbox.
Dude I work in the cex you bought Steel Battalion out of I hope it works well and enjoy your Game! Absolutely buzzing to see it go to the perfect person!
I can see the Steel Battalion controller being adapted to for use on PC say if you want to play something like any of the Mech warrior games or other games involving mech's besides Steel Battalion. Though I'd like to see someone connect up their 360 HD DVD player to their Xbox Series X/S and watch HD DVD's as well as blu ray's on their console.
As an owner of the steel battalion game set and controller its giving me a lot of anxiety watching you twist that left stick around. It only goes left and right to control rotation. Please stop wiggling it up and down! 😮
this was such a fun video to watch! i already knew about a lot of these accessories, but i didn't know about that sniper thing! that thing looks truly terrible lol. also, it surprised me how well Forza 4 is holding up :0 anyways, very good video! as usual ૮₍˶ ᵔ ⤙ ᵔ ˶₎ა

I was watching and I was wondering if he realized that he needed to use a CRT. Then it became obvious that he didn't use one
Regarding the Light Gun for Silent Scope: You need a CRT for it to properly work
Forza Motorsport 4 was such a big part of my childhood it’s so nostalgic
Yeah, you need a CRT to play light gun games.
The light gun won't work on modern tv's, You need a CRT tv for it to work.
The first Guitar Hero did the same for me, 15+ years later and I’m still playing 🎸. That Antigua Strat btw… gorgeous

light gun games are made for CRT screens so they can track your movement. An LCD screen won't work with a light gun.
for old school light gun games you need a CRT monitor or TV to be able to use the light gun.
Dude you need a CRT television for the light guns to work
no shock you couldn’t use the old gun, you’re not using a CRT tv and putting on a fake shock and not even attempting to play it
Are you using a CRT tv with the light gun? without one they don't work anymore.
You need a CRT T.V. to play light gun games.
Please, someone save that steel battalion and xbox away from him...
This is simply the holy grail of Mecha-gaming! Congrats for getting one and Never ever give it away!
You need a crt tv for a light gun to work.
man could you imagine if "sniper scope" got a major over hall for some of the new games how much fun it would be to play.

for the gun i think you are suppose to use a CRT TV
dang the vid barely started and it already seems like insane editing
Wish they put a new titan fall or armored core with a controller similar to that
Steel Battalion was epic... if they ever make a next version for modern consoles I'll grab it but you'd assume it needs VR tech now.
Honestly, your videos are next level and to the point ❤👌🙏.
Also very engaging and enjoyable to watch 😊👌
We're u trying to use the silent scope gun on a modern tv? Needs CRT to work
With recent events i could say one thing, if only they used this controller
I miss these days. When games had specifically designed accessories and controllers, gadgets, etc. Back when some thought and care went into the player and not just money hungry corporate companies that pump out garbage every year.
Exactly!
Capcom effectively "broke even" with _Steel_ _Battalion_ , but they delivered a revolutionary game to a dedicated fanbase.
The gun wasn't working because it was designed to work with old tube tvs.
Were you using a CRT TV with the Silent Scope Gun?
I havnt watched a video off your channel yet but you look goofy but regular geeky but sober and your accent is amazing. So im sure i will love your content lol God Bless.
"NO WAY! THAT SWITCH ACTUALLY CHANGED SOMETHING ON THE SCREEN!"
yeah I'm out
You need an old school TV for the shooting games
Good video looking back at these accessories on Xbox. I own steel battalion from release and yes it's still amazing to play today.
I remember when Steel Battalion was released, along with that controller. It was certainly expensive at the time.
I generally thought he was going to bend the steel battalion game when he was taking it out
still some of the best videos ever. keep up the good work
Tony hawk ride game and controller board was one of the worst things ever made
Whats really funny about HD DVD is spec wise it blew Blu Ray out of the water.
So of course it was going to lose to Blu Ray 😂
The gun won't work on new tvs has to be old tube tvs
Bro you need a CRT monitor to play silent scope💀

“As a hardcore sim racer” proceeds to smash into every car in front of him 💀.
I had silent scope together with the gun controller, and I really did enjoy it. We went to the arcade and I walked passed silent scope and my dad said don't you want to play that because you like that game, I said no because I have it on my xbox.

17:28 once again, that what she said..😂😂😂 just kidding love your content bro!!! Just subbed!
i had steel batallion. most fun i ever had. they tried to revive it on the xbox 360 using the kinect but wasnt the same
Trading an incredibly precise, custom controller for the janky imprecision of Kinect (with *no* controller) was a move of pure madness.
DJ hero ❤❤❤ that game legit got me into techno and trance, and then I started djing on my iPad and on a set of CDJs later on. That was the best 🥰
that steel battalion controller is sick
This is awesome!
Oh this poor little lad ain't never seen the sun nor ever shot a firearm.

Silent scope i think required crt tv
Brooo you kept not looking at the screen when the calibration option popped up and lost the chance to play it 😢😢😂😂😂
Nice video!
The steering wheel at the end was crazy for me cuz just like you I had expected it to have a lot of latency or not work properly
Was a pleasant surprise for sure!
light guns only works on crt tvs
your so kind
like the retro type sound
Ima go cook some nudles wish me luck
Need a crt for scope game.
Still have DJ Hero Renegade Edition in my basement!
As an owner of the steel battalion game set and controller its giving me a lot of anxiety watching you twist that left stick around. It only goes left and right to control rotation. Please stop wiggling it up and down! 😮
The dangerous hunts game was super fun to play on the wii
So you're saying if I buy a crystal xbox for $300 and put a dbrand hello kitty sticker on it, I can resell it for $1000
You also bought the green button version which cost a little bit more than the blue button one.
This video will get millions of views
you might want to one spring mod the Steel batallion rig.
You'll be there till your brown bread 😅😅 to play old light gun games you need a crtv 😜 good video tho 👍
NOOO WAY THE BUTTON WORKS
Underrated vid
Hello Kitty Xbox is a Singapore exclusive and was never available in Japan.

He needs an old tv for silent scope
Crt bro. Tube tv. The kind in old movies that they would hit when the reception was off.

I have the dj hero thing for my wii
I liked the wheel
hi Ben
He looks like child of iDubbbz & Tom Holland.
dude for silent scope you need a kinect
Original Xbox had no Kinect. This is used with an old CRT TV. The late 90s. Early 2000s. Before modern television tech.
How are you so rich 🙋♂️
i have the dj hero turntable that can turn into a table.
Bro reminds me of tom holland 💀
