I can’t thank you enough for this Video man! I’m debating now though wether to wait for your next Motor Upgrade vid. I’m looking forward to seeing the specs! I really appreciate you taking the time to make these vids. My RX arrives early April so wanna get it upgraded! Take it easy man 👌🏻
@@redhoodebikes884 Take all the time you need man it’s worth the wait. I’ve decided I will go ahead with the Motor Upgrade from your first Video, that should be enough power for me but we’ll see ;) Thanks again
Nice work. You mention that you installed this on an S2 in the previous video, did you have to cut the frame on the S2 to fit the mid-drive? Any reason you chose to add a left thumb throttle vs. a right twist throttle? Love to check this out on the next group ride.
Looks like you had to remove the pedal assist sensor from S73? I'm going through this build right now and it seems there isn't enough room to include it on the square drive peg of the BBSHD.
You don’t want the throttles linked together. You use them at different times at different levels depending on where you are riding. It’s just difficult to use 2 throttles.
What did you use to cut the frame? Also wondering if the 10 speed upgrade from S73 is good enough to help with hills instead of having to add the mid-drive.
@@redhoodebikes884 thanks for the reply! Another question about the frame modification you had to make: how invasive of a modification was it? If I wanted to return the RX to "stock conditions" would that be impossible to do with the frame cut? What exactly are you cutting on the frame? It looks like might be one of the flanges seen at 2:20 on this super73 video. th-cam.com/video/OQ93jVycNog/w-d-xo.html are those flanges just to mount a chain guard?
Please make an actual video of the install. You got a nice setup with a bike stand and everything. If People could see the full install , they would buy bbshd or similar .
@@redhoodebikes884 I don't blame you I owned four of them back in the 70s I always loved the 69 Z28 good luck with it and I wouldn't sell it either if I still had one!✌👋👋
What about range? Still the same or gets better? Do you think if we do this mod we can remove the pedals? It looks like they are no necessary with those two motors.
@@redhoodebikes884 you’re right! I was just thinking the same, I’ll love to remove the pedals but that’s make it looks more like a motorcycle, and I’m living on a real boring state called Massachussets and everything is ilegal here 🙄🙄🙄
@@redhoodebikes884 awesome...I just got my v2 controller and am going to install it tonight...I paid for the VESC app which is suppose to allow for a few changes...very interested in how your build performs after install

Yoo this is super helpful! Gonna do this on my under powered bike for hills.
Just did another upgrade th-cam.com/video/K6bq80I9xtA/w-d-xo.html
What size bottom bracket removal tool did you use? I'm currently doing this on an s2
Thank you!!!

If the throttles are the same you might be able to splice them into one all nice and neat with solder, and shrink wrap. That would be crazy.

Hey buddy where can I purchase all the parts so I can duplicate your Super 73RX?
@@redhoodebikes884 Thank you , is this something I can install my self or need a professional to install kit?

What size BBSHD do I need? Or what’s the rx bottom bracket size?
You need 120mm bottom bracket for the BBSHD
@@redhoodebikes884 did you add PAS with BBSHD?
I was curious if the V1 or V2 ludicrous controller upgrades would work well with your build, or if it would throw off the hub motor power in some way?

@@redhoodebikes884 Thanks....also are you using the stock chain?
Top speed?
What’s the approximate total weight now ?
Thanks, I’m going to try it...
if you had gears on your hub it would take off better with shifting
True, but I don't like shifter, I haven't even been riding my dirtbikes now because my sur ron is just throttle and go.
first!
