Thanks for the extra idea at the end, I only have one embossing glaze but it's green and I want to try it with some mica powders to cover a sheet and then cut leaves!
If you want to use embossing powder or embossing glaze with texture/embossing/molding paste or gel without the paste/gel bubbling, you can add the layer of paste/gel, sprinkle on your powder, & let that dry completely. Then heat it with your heat tool, & it will melt the powder but not bubble the paste/gel. Now, full disclosure, I've done this with molding paste (same as embossing, modeling, or texture paste), but I don't think I've done it with gel medium per se. So, conceivably, the gel medium might bubble even if it's dry. Not sure if it would, but just a note of caution. The paste at least (in my experience) doesn't though, if you let it dry first, and the embossing powder still sticks to it, so that won't just blow all over creation when you melt it. :) I think I got that tip from Jennifer McGuire, but I'm not sure. May have also been in an Online Card Classes class. Anyhoo.... I was wondering if you could get a similar effect of the multiple colors of glazes by adding one color to your paste, tapping that powder off onto scratch paper & funneling it back into that jar, adding the next color, returning that to its jar, & so on. It just kind of made my frugal Scottish blood cringe when you mixed all those colors on your scratch paper - ohhhh, the extravagant waste! LOL Just curious. All that being said, I LOVE how your card came out!!! The colored glaze layer over the text background looks soooo cool. Thank you for sharing. Take care, & have an awesome day! :)
thanks for the info. This paste seemed to work pretty good. I knew I would be busted for not funneling the powder back but honestly it's such a small amount compared to what I still have left so it didn't phase me. And plus, that would just be too tedious for me lol! But I can totally see where a person may want to do that . Thanks so much! Hugs!
Hi Mindy! What a beautiful card. Thanks for the ideas on using the embossing glaze. I love the sheerness of this product. And, the colors, oh my!!! Thanks!
What a great idea. Your card is: beautiful, stunning, awesome, fabulous...... I really like the text in the background. It makes a big difference in a positive way. In my opinion, the Black Soot would have been too dark. I prefer the lighter color as you've shown.
Such a cool technique, Mindy! Love your finished card....so pretty! Thank you for sharing how you made the swatches for the top of the jar lids....fabulous! 💖
This card turned out absolutely gorgeous! I’m so inspired to dig out my glazes now! Thank you! ALSO…loved the idea using the Xyron to label samples of the glaze! Next on my to do list 🥰🧚♀️
the glaze is translucent so it won't look as solid as regular embossing powder might unless you apply layer upon layer upon layer lol .... Kind of like if you were looking through stained glass - that's a very good way to describe it . Hope that helps !
Love the use of texture paste & embossing glaze. Tapping to "move & mix" the glaze was clever!

Beautiful! Love love love this card Mindy! ❤️
Absolutely gorgeous card Mindy!
Great idea for labels. Think I will first stamp some black text on the cardstock and then add the glaze, so I can tell the glaze is translucent.
Really cool...I wish I could see that one in person!

Great card! I topped my glazes with swatches, too. I stamped a little heart first, glazed, and used a punch to make circle.

Amazing card Mindy 🥰 I love your technique, the stencil and the background stamp ❤️ thanks for sharing your creativity Hugs xx
Love it! ❤ Great technique!
Couldn't you let the paste dry and then add the heat to reduce risk of the paste bubbling?
you could - i was just impatient lol ...
What’s the difference between glaze and powder in appearance?
the glaze is translucent so it won't look as solid as regular embossing powder might unless you apply layer upon layer upon layer lol .... Kind of like if you were looking through stained glass - that's a very good way to describe it . Hope that helps !
