I've already seen this on a different channel, but didn't know you made this game at the time. Just want you to know this game is very good. It occurs at night, we're around strangers every min and the slow burn/slow build up is the best thing. Plus being in open water in my car just begs me to fear drowning in my car as it slowly sinks to the bottom not knowing how deep the water is. 😳😱
@@Groovelicious. Thanks, I actually been taking trips on a Ferry a couple of times throughout my life so when I decided to make a horror game centered around a job, a Ferryman instantly popped in my head.
I wonder if near the end of Ferry, after noticing the Hearse was empty, if you went back instead of the island you would get a (personally) good ending?
Feel like thats just a generally good ending. If you have to sacrifice people to not have your town wiped off the map, maybe people should just, eh i dunno, not live there period? 💀💀💀
@@idontcheckrepliesstaymad958 It's pretty dumb when you think about it, First, the game never goes into detail about what this creature is trying to get revenge for? It never tells you! Second, any creature that exists in this world needs to eat daily not once every 100 years (1 century = 100 years) And with how big this creature is, it would need to eat a lot everyday just to not starve to death. Third, when it ate your character. It mostly got a mouth full of inorganic, inedible, indigestible, giant hunk of metal, some glass, rubber, polyester with a little bit of human flesh mixed into all of that. Predatory creatures in real life can only eat organic material and have no ability to nor desire to consume or digest metal. Heck the creature in this game realistically shouldn't be able to chew that ferry boat, let alone swallow it without chocking to death. And what goes in must come out. How is this creature going to poop out a giant hunk of metal?
All I can think of with Forest God, asides from the cheapo asset-flippy, appropriative jank, is an alternate title for what else it reminds me of: "Wender: The Five Torches".
BRUH, Forest God is literally the comic from Oleg Vdovenko (same title) turned into a game, I don't know if it's stolen or if he made it,but with Ai voices,it seems sus. EDIT.: He's a co founder of team clout,so the devs that made forest god (the game) might be damn ripping him off, they don't seem to be connected.
What comic? As far as I can tell there are two sets of images based on this concept and a short (under 2 minutes) horror video from a year ago. Doesn’t seem like Oleg is currently working on Forest God anymore. That being said, this is the only game from this developer and it does seem pretty sketchy. Especially the actual description on the steam page. *That* being said, Olegs actual game studio also only has one game, it isn’t out, and while it’s better written the description on Steam does seem a bit far fetched. Still, over promising isn’t the same as ripping off content. If that’s what’s going on here it’s pretty fucked.
@@brianburkhardt3692 I called 'part 1' and 'part 2' it,because dunno, felt like a short comic of ideas. I wonder if there’s any alternate endings in that first game. Like if you don’t let the hearse on and leave, or if you reverse the ferry after the driver jumps out. Also 36:12 to shreds, you say
I just wanted to say I’ve been having a really bad time recently with stress and suicidal thoughts and all the bad stuff like that. But you’re videos have helped a lot with calming me down and making me think rationally. I just wanted to thank you for helping as much as you have. I’m so glad I’ve found you

Librarian! I seen something neat that reminded me of you. 😊 your video "The Exit 8 (Stuck in A Loop)" someone recreated that entire game in vrchat with an avatar as a reward for completing the game mode. thanks for all your creepy and comfy vids. they are a real treat to listen to and enjoy the shared experience with.
on top of 'forest god' being seemingly lifted from a short film of the same name by chuvabak, it's got to go and appropriate a native creature as its scary monster. i really wish people would leave it alone, it's not just some scary deer skull monster out in the woods. please have some respect
People take plenty of stuff from cultures. Theres a Slavic myth literally used as a nickname for John Wick. I certainly don’t care and “native” myths aren’t some sacred cow either.
@@Kazako83 I can tell you’re not responding in good faith so im not going to argue, maybe just do some introspection and ask yourself why a group of cultures specifically targeted for destruction (Native Americans) might not be appropriate to take from.
im not sure I agree that we should avoid using diverse sources modified to suit the theming of a game, since when you start making decisions like that you almost inevitably come across as hypocritical when you forget that X thing actually stems from Y culture. anything norse is off the table, given what happened there, which takes out a lot of possibly amazing ideas. also, notably, the wendigo has far been removed from it's roots. it sucks, but its a cultural icon of horror now.
Maaan, was genuinely excited for a proper Forest God game. Finding out that it's a ripoff of an already existing idea/animation of the exact same name is just disappointing.
My "gaming chair" back in the Voodoo days was an average office chair. My dad expected this thing to last for a few years, and it was used by almost everyone in the family, but it lasted up to the late 2000s if you'd believe it, lol.
I can see the person in "clean your room" beeing someone I know and worse. I can't understand this mindset as keeping everything in order is easier than cleaning up afterwards.
Something I really appreciate about the Librarian is how he describes what’s on screen. It’s accessible for low-vision viewers like me but doesn’t ruin the experience. Keep being awesome dude. ❤
The "wendigo" game is literally like DONT SCREAM using Unreal Engine 5 where they completely rely on the graphics to sell itself. Absolutely 0 care for any gameplay. They literally just plop in free models from an asset library. You could pass it off as some random 13 year old's Roblox game and it would still be the same. How are people are even PAYING for this lol
The Short Horror Game compilations are among my favorite, and I really appreciate how generally positive the Librarian always is in his assessment of games. Indie games deserve gentle praise and the Librarian is truly magnanimous in his assessments. That being said, "Forest God" was frustrating to watch. Gameplay aside, it was such an uninspired mish-mash of horror tropes that felt tired and stereotypical. Wendigo here, abandoned playground there, spoppy house, spoopy dock, government cover-up, et cetera and so forth. I can forgive awkward gameplay but there was no realized theme or story, just a general "SCARY" vibe, which was lessened by the bizarre, inhuman narration and the strangely mismatched assets. To any creators reading this comment, I beg you: pick one, maybe even two themes, but not more. "Forest God" was downright terrible due to its lack of singular vision (and the Librarian showed a lot of grace in his play-through of it, which is why I love him).
Ay! 3 short horror games, let's go!! And had a weird dream yesterday. I was driving a bus on train tracks, don't know why it was just such a random dream i had.
Liberian totally took Jacksepticeyes/markipliers flow with 3 short horror games, but that's completely justified considering he seems to be the only commentator that actually encapsulates the feeling video games, specifically horror games capture. As an Adult now his content feels mature enough to watch intellectually while still playing video games. Hats off to you

Hello. I'm the developer of THE FERRY. Thank you very much for taking the time to play my little horror game. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it.
Honestly, awsome job with the game, I plan to play it myself, soonish, using the Idea of a ferry for horror is genuinely a really cool Idea.
Does THE FERRY take place in the 80s-90s? Based off the cars,
i really liked it, i loved how it made me question what could end up happening, and the rock thing was a perfectly done twist
