Love it guys. As ever you speak the real truth of what we’re all trying to do within Jazz. Keep putting out killer discussions and content. Best wishes from a likeminded bassist/educator. Much love to you all, keep inspiring and pushing the message. P.s Brian rules!

Good discussion guys. It's great that these days the psychological attitude stuff is talked about rather than just nuts and bolts information. When I first started playing jazz around 1980, there was nothing in the mainstream about it at all, and early on I knew there was something important there. For a long time, especially since Effortless Mastery came out in the late 90's, I've been very interested in it. Adam summarised it nicely when he said he's more interested in the process than the result. Thank you

Adam's rhodes solo at 0:42 really sounds like someone scatting, he brings out the 'be-bop' sound of the Rhodes bell

I love the dialogue for this podcast. (Adam) 9:08
It's always about the music, and the music will always be bigger than any of us.
Letting go of the EGO? YES!!! 100%
Ego comes in many forms, not only from our perceptions of ourselves... but also from judging others.
Adam, you touched on a few gems that I also feel strongly about.
As you know I'm always posting content on FB and Insta. It's never from a place of "hey check me out." lol On the contrary, it's always been from a place of - "I know so many amazing pianists (i.e you and Peter etc) might see this. I can either live in fear of not feeling good about my playing, or I can show the world my weaknesses and vulnerabilities, what I'm passionate about, what I'm working on and grow from that."
I know my strengths and weaknesses. Hopefully whenever it's time to PLAY, I pray for a peaceful mind so that the only "noise" in my head is JOY, and connection with those around me.
I wish you all the same!
    Elia
