A teacher at my middle school, in 1993 in Norway, called in my mother for a conference, and claimed with total seriousness that I was possessed by demons, and wanted my mother's blessing to contact an exorcist. My mother passed this idea on to the principal of the school and that was the teacher fired. I only found out a handful of years later, which was sad as it was a huge boost to my goth credentials, and I would've loved knowing as a teenager.
Wonderful video as always. Informative and entertaining.

@@drangelapuca There was a lot of that going on. Another teacher had a three hour long lecture for us about how ET and the Norwegian Broadcasting Company was all an occult conspiracy, and that Christians were being killed off in a secret war. Great times to be alive, and a roleplayer.

My mom told me I'm possessed by a demon when I came out as transgender and biologically intersex... I mean, God gave me free boobs during puberty and a sexy curvy body... But sure, I'm possessed by a demon and let's not bring science into this at all... lol
The funny part is how bad it makes my dad look who is a pastor... can't even protect their own child from a demon... Tsk Tsk... Hahahahaha

That was a crazy time in Norway especially but all over Scandinavia and even beyond; Britain and Germany were affected too. All due to black metal and goth.
Also that was a period of the rise of neo-paganism in Scandinavia.
Burning down churches was kind of in vogue too among the more extreme youth.
Of course, the society did go into a moral panic mode especially given how small our countries are, and the newspapers oh so welcomed the opportunity for sensationalism, which made the matter that much worse.
Now on the one hand, the renewed interest in the old ways/heathenry, was cool.
On the other hand, the negative legacy are folkist, neo-nazi figures such as Varg Vikernes and that whole pathetic: we wuz vikings - movement.

Very good, as always, Dr. Puca!
As one of my acquaintances said: there's at least four possibilities when dealing with spirit/deity possession work. 1) One can be non-possessed, and that includes people who pretend they are or say they are, and then often insert their own ideas, agendas, suggestions, or whatever else in the voice of the spirits or deities to influence others. 2) One is wearing a spirit/deity-shaped sock puppet, i.e. there may be some divine energies there, and being overshadowed/overlapped by said discarnate beings, but one is still very much in control of the proceedings. 3) One is being worn by the deities/spirits as a sock puppet, meaning that even though one might think one is in control, in fact a spirit or deity (and often unknowingly) has taken control. 4) One is actually fully possessed by a spirit/deity/etc.
Also, I think, based on my own experiences, knowledge, and hearing from others, that spirit/divine marriages between humans and discarnate entities is an entirely other phenomenon, and not really related at all. Episodes in which one is interacting with these non-corporeal beings can be a more visionary state of consciousness rather than a possessory one. While it may be actualized in some traditions or situations that one does possession-trance work in addition to spirit or deity marriage (i.e. one's non-corporeal spouse possesses and speaks through the human rather than to them, which can then be conveyed to others), the human/spiritual other distinction is usually maintained for the majority of the marriage in all cases of which I'm aware. There may be an active presence of the divine/spiritual spouse in the form of some physical object, or even a non-physical method, at all times with the person, but the divine/spiritual mind and knowledge are not there directing the person or speaking through them actively at all times. It might be worth a video on its own, as I am not sure that there has been much (if any!) academic work on this topic of divine/spiritual marriages, outside of the more metaphorical senses of it that occur with, e.g., Catholic nuns. But I would love to hear more on what you know or have found out about the topic!

As always as very well thought through and academically rigorous. An alternative perspective to consider. Consentual versus non-consentual possession. In some Pagan traditions and other faiths consentual possession is part of ecstatic worship. It's a very refined form of worship to one's diety or Patron. I would offer there different levels of consentual possession. It's a discipline that requires training and a lot of self-control.
It is possible to have agency/sovereignty and possession . It's not an all or nothing. That's a bit Western philosophy. Everything either is or is not, there are shades of gray.

One type of possession I always thought was interesting was the Vodou practice of being "ridden" by Lwa, (or Loa), during religious ceremonies. I guess it is basically a more immersive form of an invocation of a deity.

I think I've been having an issue with spirit posession - When I was homeless in Santa Barbara, I did a lot of ghost hunting to fill my time & had a day where everything seemed off. I was walking the civil war soldier & WW2 graves and started getting tired I was exhausted and someone (a man) told me to go sit down. I kept my backpack on and leaned back a bit on the grass where they're weren't any graves - I must have passed out, because I was suddenly waking up and sitting up on my own. Everything was in shades of gray eventhough it was a fairly sunny day out. My vision didn't go back to normal for quite a few minutes, and I didn't feel like I could move my own body. I've done a lot of cleansing and started making sure to smudge myself after walking through after that, but I feel like the soldier spirit is still with me. I feel like he knew he was dying and told his comrades to leave him to die. I think he regrets not trying to survive.

I studied the Ainu in Northern Hokkaido a while back and it seemed that the shamans were more mediums in the sense that they were supposed to be taken over by a spirit. Which was very different to some of the native American shaman practices I knew about previously. From an Anthropological perspective they are a truly fascinating as believed to be one oldest religious practices that date back to Paleolithic man.

I've found that there's certain Pagan analogues to the ideas about demonic possession that we take for granted. In Greece, instead of being possessed by demons, you could be possessed by gods or nymphs, particularly gods like Dionysus, Pan, and I think some other chthonic gods. The practice of goeteia also involved work with metallurgic daemons in a way that lead to the individual becoming one with those daemons. Then of course the comparison often made is the Afro-Brazillian traditions where the spirits or gods possess you in order that you may unite with them. Things like this are a good way to put into perspective a Paganism of the Left Hand Path, leaning into certain diabolical tropes of the "Judeo-Christian" imaginary of the demonic, but subordinated to the logic of Paganism and, most crucially, freed from the kind of pompous, almost Cartesian autotheism that the legacy of guys like Anton LaVey and Michael Aquino have left us.

Group Think and the Frenzy is the reality I know and I see in Sharks as well as when I was in Grade 8, in shock, unable to speak and trapped in amnesia. If I was not 6'1" 215lbs at age 13 as I was, I would've been killed by my frenzied classmates for sure. I fought off 10 of them at lunch in the locker room.
There is a sickness in all creatures to play with their prey I think. This works socially at a heightened level in groups of people I think. They lose their SUPER EGO as individuals and are UNREGULATED. best way to describe it.
    Spirit Possession and Demon Possession?
I've seen too much, wipe away my eyes, too much , wipe away my eyes, too much..........as the song says and so I need to get to the DEMUIRGE, I seen that bastard and it's scared shitless of me mimicking my childhood memories through my childhood whistle pattern and shit like that.
It threatened but stayed afar, it was dressed as an old man watching me die, mocking me as I hit the fence post with a stick calling across the horse pasture for help. These were people, they were watching me die at a distance, but I was in another dimension, it's sad to talk about this. The point is that this thing keeps trying to kill me since I was born and shows up in other people as well all of my life, even when I was a toddler, even in my own family this abusive and tortureous entity has shown up and messed with me.
Never fear your parents and never be afraid to stand up to your parents.
    That DEMUIRGE is not a parent/God/Divine Grace/Divine Promise/Hope/Trust.
The buildings moved, i lost almost all the blood out of my body and had no other way out and well, I am still here and I know for a fact the otherside is right there, it's the same side as here really, just different and the sparkling pixies and fairies sort of thing you see, the faces in that were sheltering in the trees like innocent souls so innocent like people with Down Syndrome have that same innocent reminder of divine innocence. This was where i grew up as a young kid playing in the forest, that's where I chose and well, I fucked up but was trapped and had seen the sky fall the year before, i am still a mess.
Anyhow, this is my contribution to the UNIVERSAL MIND and this outstanding channel.
As THE DOORS so beautifully state:
Then you came along wiht your suitecase and your song, turned my head around, now I'm so alone, just searching for a home in every face I see, I'm your freedom man, yeah, that's just how lucky I am, I am your freedom man. I was doing time in the UNIVERSAL MIND, I was turning keys....)
WE ARE CHILDREN OF THE APOCALYPSE, that's who we are, that's who our parents are, that's who our Grandparents are, that's who our Great Grandparents are. We are 3-5 generations deep into the post-APOCALYPSE ERA as WW1 was branded as ARMAGEDDON the imperial constantine-cultish faux-christianity. SO WE NEED TO SHAPE THE NARRATIVE AND THE LABELS/LABEL MAKER.

Draw a few pictures of skulls from different angles, the brain cavity is an empty warehouse space.
The eyes are a view screen window.
The base location of the brain stem is the basement of the houses and runs the house's power supply or energy, air, and bio electricity.
So now you have a two level/ story town house.
Have a large box/ chest to hold smaller boxes, take a piece of paper with the skulls drawn on it. Write down any negative behavior traits you want to Not deal with, and write a Curse to block such behavior or separate/ exorcism that trait from yourself. Fold the spell note down into a smaller envelope and place into one of the smaller storage chests. Now you have a little gennie lamp ticking time bomb waiting to go off. But such .. emotions .. do become a bit alien after awhile and you lose your ability to relate to them or be effected by them. Sealing off your Id/ base emotions: demons so your super ego can think/ act with clear though. Which doesn't always bring out your inner saint.
Such casting never help me quite smoking, but it did help me deal with my social anxiety .. by sealing off my need for social contact. Along with turning me more cold blooded and logical. I don't .. fear .. or go into fight or flight panic attacks anymore. I just calmly question people as to why they seek to intimidate others around them.
Nature does not like a void, so what ever you seek to remove from yourself you best have something else, a given .. Ideal/ concept .. spell craft spirit to replace that given emptiness. That void can grow so very .. cold.

I love your channel you are spot on I use to be possessed but now since I found the true light I can’t be possessed now but I’m can be oppressed There are spirits around us all the time we are never alone the spirit around me are getting angry at me for even sharing this little bit of truth. The negative Spirits that roam the earth are on the road to Hell but in the meantime they want to still live like that spirit did when thay was alive so they possess people they love to possess People that had some kind of trauma that happen. Oh and they especially likes to possess mediums and witches And others equivalent

@@torisantiago9176 why is it a hard road if you think it’s nonsensical ? People can have happier lives by building a sense of cultures and ideas that is different to what is already known. I mean can’t there still be new things we don’t know about? As hey despite the diseases that were back then there were still humans that lived an catalogue them for future people to provide additional levity to How and Why does a human function. Certain peoples believed the body as divine origin and perfection and reflection of the universe as today what a scientist might be intrigued into the wonders of the body and it’s biology and chemistry. Don’t separate the principles for everyone and everything has a root. It would be beneficial if we finally connected the realms of science and Magick with the aim of religion through the method of science. So let’s create a Equinox

@@drangelapuca True Intellectualism, like drugs, alcoholism, gambling is an addiction. For the most part, weakening the individual both spiritually, internally, and physically. Thus causing that person to depend on these crutches as though they are doing something. Looking for self is something quite different and is a process completely different and outside of intellectualism. Scripture says it best, how can you see the speck in your brother's eye when you cannot see the log in your own. Indeed to mislead others into a cornucopia of ideas is no substitute for knowing. I suggest you do a lot more soul searching to correct your thinking processes. That's all.
