This is a great review, actually the best review I've seen actually, and I've seen many reviews on this car. Thanks for the video, I've learned quite a bit from it and it makes me feel better about my decision to purchase a Corvette next month.
Buddy, you got jacked on the price. I've seen people buy a 2016 Z06 for about $75k. MSRP is $55k, and you can buy 2014-2015's all day long for about 50k with >10,000 miles.
BreakingGun He bought this Aug 2015. Those z06 prices are because of the 17 model coming out. You expect him to wait another year so he can get a better deal 😂
BreakingGun Z06's start at 78k so I'd love to see where you're getting 75k msrp. Also, 2014 stingrays have the much slower 6 speed automatic vs the 8 speed in this car. Even if you were to build my exact car on chevy's website, it'd come out to 71k. I wasn't jacked on the price.
You wana know how to get these cars he reviews, and be very good parents to your future kids or kids or no kids lol. Learn to do stocks and trades. I promise youll get a new car within a year and half if you do it properly. Im telling you its not THAT HARD to get money, but it isn't impossible. If your a teen and your thinking of working at a local food store or shop, thats fine, but once you graduate, hone a skill in some field and excel and do stocks. You won't have to be 55 to be able to get your dream car.
I went to school, became a web developer, paid off debt quick because parents let me live with them, stayed a few more years with them and most of that money into Roth IRA and Vanguard index funds, gambled a portion of it on crypto last year and it went up 600%. Now I'm thinking of getting a used Corvette. Corvette's retain their value more than any other car, no point in getting a new one unless you have that much to spare.
+Sam Jensen My dad owned an automotive parts business that had contracts with the government/military. He sold it a few years ago and retired lol. And thank you!
Pretty good vid! But you should definitely add a 1-2 minutes segment for getting out of the car, showing the blacked out grill etc and the trunk space :) Good job man.
You forgot to mention that you can manually change the sound to be always a certain mode through the engine sound management. So you can be in Touring but have the most unrestricted Track exhaust mode on.
Thanks for the review. I saw another review clam the paddle shifters were on the column. May have been a previous year because here I can see them on the wheel.
and no where near the performance on any level. Plus the C7 looks a million times better. Sometimes it is more than just about the dollars and numbers. That would be settling. I have wanted a Corvette for over 30 years and that;s all I will get when I can. No wasting money settling.
+Justin Baddoo Luckily I didn't have to order it. There was one in the lot of a near by dealership that had similar specs to what I would have ordered.
+ChristianW i love it honestly...withe the exception of trying to get the android auto update...dealerships act like they dont know what im talking about
what bothers me is no parking sensors, no rear cross-traffic alert, not blind spot warning and none of the other safety features pretty much all cars have now..
I just drove my friends over the weekend & it's a pretty sweet ride. I was able to keep it at 55mph on a turn. I also love the hybrid automatic/manual sports transmission with the lever shifters on the wheel.
+XuRpUsACID I do! Well, did. I installed the Corsa Xtreme Valve-back exhaust system on her a few months ago. New video on my channel showing the exhaust.
The Z06 is essentially an upgraded version of this car. Equipped with a Supercharged 6.2L V8 making 650 horsepower vs the Stingray's N/A 6.2L V8 making 460 horsepower. Aside from the engine, the Z06 also offers a wider rear to house the much larger rear tires, as well as a bunch of other options that the Stingray lacks.
You're an absolute idiot. The Z06 is supercharged. The previous generation (C6) were not supercharged. The current Z06 (2014-2016) are supercharged. Google it. Every single video, article, or blog will tell you that.
Thanks for the vid and running through all the interior features and menus. I'm planning on ordering one in a few months. Love when you gassed it @2:09 I can't wait to get mine!
+Black Rage Not exactly my friend.. Almost ANY turbo or blower car with a Auto is faster. Add a torque converter to a auto and it will almost smoke any manual car for car.. However a stock for stock manual vs auto, the manual will almost always be faster.:-)
+RzVids He's not necessarily worried. It's good information to know. You still have to fill up regardless if you care about cost. It's nice to know how often you'd have to refill.
I sat in this car at a dealership yesterday but I'm 6'-4" tall.... it's a tight fit. It felt like I was inside a young tight Asian girl. Do they make bigger more flexible seats for someone of my size?
+THE SOOTHSAYER Thats quite the problem. I don't believe they do unfortunately. I suppose you could take the roof off and ride with your head above the windshield if need be.
rico b I'm personally not a truck guy, so if it were me, I'd buy the stingray. Plus those are two very different cars so it really depends on what you're looking for out of your future car.
Very good looking car! There's a man in my town that owns either this or the Z06 in blue and it looks so sexy! I was behind him and at red light and he took off, so fast haha. Then he pulled into his driveway.
LamboDEB I didn't tag anything. At the time this was posted, it was the 1st or 2nd 2016 Corvette review on TH-cam. Naturally it gained popularity because it was the first to show up if you typed in 2016 Corvette.
Thanks! Does the sport mode make it louder in a 1LT? What color seats are better if there was such a thing the Red or Black interior with the white exterior?
Looking to pick one up as well. Corvettes have been pretty reliable and maintenance costs shouldnt be too much because its American and I'd imagine parts would be cheap
@Rafiki QuirogaI agree that folks shouldnt assume. Bought mine when I was 23/24. it's now only 40k now ..for a used one but when it came out a fully loaded corvette was 70k brand new. I paid 53k for mine 4 years ago.
Just one little nitpick. The car you're driving does indeed have a removable hard top, but it is NOT a T-top car. T-tops are TWO removable roof panels that latch on laterally and socket in medially to the superior aspect of the birdcage. The mid to late C3 corvettes, while crippled by the EPA as they were, are good examples of a T-Top car. Finally, very nice corvette. I opted for a C3 Vette simply because I like two things about them more than any subsequent edition: the long, sexual front end, and the aggro, throat-gurgling sound of that old carbureted 350. I dont personally understand how GM sleeps at night knowing they neutered America's sports car by soundproofing the cabin. However, this is just what makes corvette people great: Just as much as C3s are my favorite for their shaky ride and guttural exhaust notes, some hate the C3 and prefer c5, 6, and 7 Vettes like your stingray because they have more power, a more modern, refined sound, and a smooth ride. I'm an old soul trapped in a 25 year old body and my C3 is the only thing I have that allows me to fully live in this generation where the cool of the late 70s/early 80s translates to chauvenism and dropping out of high school. Cheers, and I hope you get hundreds of thousands of wonderful, heart-awakening miles out of your Vette; I know I will.
You're right and you're also wrong. While this car is not a T-Top in the normal sense of the 2 removable panels as you said which is true, it's still a "T-Top car". Do you know the history behind why GM called it a T-Top? Most people think it's because of the T bar when both tops are removed but it's not. It's literally short for TARGA TOP. At the time it was introduced GM couldn't use Targa in their marketing because Porsche had already patented the name for there model so GM just used T-Top for short.
Chevrolet needs to place the engine in rear of the car. I own a 2001 Corvette. The car needs to grow up. With the engine in the rear, the car will perform better.
I'll wait until the 2017 Stingray comes out which according to my sources (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more) has the engine and drive train from the Chevrolet Volt instead of the V8 supercharger. It will loose a bit on the acceleration but make up for that 10 times over in fuel efficiency.
just saying for the comment people. if I bought me a used camaro ss or mustang gt. I pay half and pay the insurance. will I be considered spoiled? yes I am able to make that kind of money, I make a very good amount every year.
+exman55coolkid if I were you, I wouldn't worry about being "spoiled", the only people that care are the people that don't matter Let me give you a good example I own a 1963 mercury comet with a 5.0L turbo charged. I mostly keep it on the track or when I'm taking my girlfriend out somewhere nice. My daily driver is a Standard PT Cruiser and it is quite ugly and banged up. Do I care what people think about it? Nope! Life is all about being happy man. not about what people have to say about you. hope that helps!
You know it's depressing when my mid-size sedan gets worse gas mileage than this Corvette
Thank your parents everyday of your life for buying you that
@KASHMAER lmao you mad as well cause you cant afford it kinda sad
@@R0CKFORD I never understood how people hate on other people I would see it as motivation

BreakingGun He bought this Aug 2015. Those z06 prices are because of the 17 model coming out. You expect him to wait another year so he can get a better deal 😂

ChristianW you do realize some dealers, especially those specializing in a certain car, will sell for under MSRP?
BreakingGun a dealership I was at had a 2lt manual stingray brand new going for 45k
Nice review man. My dad just bought a 2016 C7 1lt the other day. The car is so nice. He chose the white and it looks so good.
Thanks man, appreciate it. Hope he enjoys it!
Ugh, I've had such a love for corvettes since a kid & they just keep getting better 😍😊
And more expensive
En
You wana know how to get these cars he reviews, and be very good parents to your future kids or kids or no kids lol.

***** Sounds like you do

Nice man I just got a new truck yesterday 2007 Chevy 1500 4x4
+isuckatcodbro Congrats man!
That exhaust is amazing
Pretty thorough review, most reviews just talk about the engine. Good work
+Holiday Styles Thanks! I appreciate it.
kid you are BEYOND blessed
Dude, this is such a cool ride so lucky man! Great video! :D
May I ask what your parents do for a living?! You are so lucky to have access to awesome cars! Cool video!
***** I would assume his parent's Lamborghini Aventador isn't very expensive to you either?
+BelieveInWarrior Believe what?
+Sam Jensen My dad owned an automotive parts business that had contracts with the government/military. He sold it a few years ago and retired lol. And thank you!
So basically this kids a pussy
6:34 im pretty sure its for the passenger arbag.
Nice! I just turboed by mustang so I'm at 560whp/500tq. Planning on any mods?
Cool! just supercharged my camaro I'm at 604 hp and 578lb torque. nothing like a good car modification.
+Jake Isnt Russian yes my dad has a provharged bullitt mustang
Can u please tell me, is there a big difference between 2lt and 3lt? Thanks great review
+Art Sal Only difference between the 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT is different options.
+Art Sal ever hear of google? it's a great thing.
Pretty good vid! But you should definitely add a 1-2 minutes segment for getting out of the car, showing the blacked out grill etc and the trunk space :)
Good job man.
I think the owner is, too. To look at you tube, you'd think they hand super cars out when you graduate HS these days.
+rrpostalagain he is not the owner lol
So with the 8 speed paddle shift transmission, is it true automatic or do you still have to shift?
He's back
You forgot to mention that you can manually change the sound to be always a certain mode through the engine sound management. So you can be in Touring but have the most unrestricted Track exhaust mode on.
+Henry Tis correct. At the time of the recording I don't believe I was aware of the feature lol
Also can change the steering in vehicle settings along with the exhaust.
Whats the difference between the ZO6 and the stingray??
Wait I'm just Bearly getting into cars do they have any standard corvette because I only drive standard...? Please help me
yes
Standard?
how is the challenger ride ??
do you advise me to have one ?
+rooon1n I traded the Challenger for the Corvette unfortunately, but the Challenger was a great car. Definitely recommend it.
Thanks for the review. I saw another review clam the paddle shifters were on the column. May have been a previous year because here I can see them on the wheel.
That was a great review. Good job. best i seen. keep up the good work.
I'm looking into buying myself one of these but I hate driving manual , are all 2016 Corvette Stingrays manual or can you buy them as automatic also ?
He said in the video that this car is an 8 speed automatic. Watch the vid or google it!
+Dodge 318 Cummins sorry , didn't hear him say that
+Karly Robinson why buy a corvette anyway you can get a nice Camaro for half the price🤔
Almost 80% of C7s sold are automatics so there will be plenty more available than manuals.
and no where near the performance on any level. Plus the C7 looks a million times better. Sometimes it is more than just about the dollars and numbers. That would be settling. I have wanted a Corvette for over 30 years and that;s all I will get when I can. No wasting money settling.
hey i just ordered my 2016 2LT Z51 yesterday. .about how long did it take for yours to come in
+Justin Baddoo Luckily I didn't have to order it. There was one in the lot of a near by dealership that had similar specs to what I would have ordered.
+ChristianW got mine now 😎
+Justin Baddoo Congratulations! How are you liking it?
+ChristianW i love it honestly...withe the exception of trying to get the android auto update...dealerships act like they dont know what im talking about
+ChristianW and i dont like the tire hop when making tight turns. other than that i love driving this shit
question - where did you buy the car and how much did you pay? The sticker was $71k
Thank you
We bought it at Cox Chevrolet in Bradenton, FL. We traded in my challenger which they gave us $36,000 for. So we only payed 35k.
What does the M on the gear indicator represent?
I’m looking at getting one, just unsure but the video has convinced me on getting onw
Great video bro! Keep it up!!
With the spec upgrades and taxes fully paid, how much did the car cost in total?
+TheFlyingNinjaGamer We traded my previous car for this so in total it was only about $38,000.
I'm Loving the car, do you think it would be a good buy when I come back from deployment?
Did u trade the challenger for it
what's your next car the 2017 ford gt?
I absolutely LOVE this car!
Great video. Keep up the good work!
Does it have a removable roof?
what bothers me is no parking sensors, no rear cross-traffic alert, not blind spot warning and none of the other safety features pretty much all cars have now..
You have front and rear cameras though. Personally I trust the cameras more than the censors.
+ChristianW yeah but none of the normally safety features all other cars have for less than this price tag
+ChristianW i mean at least rear traffic alert and blind spot monitoring at a minimum..
+1warcquel None of my previous cars have had either of those. If it's something you really need/want, then I'd look at a different car.
+1warcquel fuck u and Honda's gay procedures to ruin cars
Nice car man it looks great and what did you do with your other challengers ?
Thanks man. And the SXT was traded for the RT, and the RT was traded for this lol
+ChristianW no problem and keep up the good videos
+MalcolmGamesToo I'll sure try.
I just drove my friends over the weekend & it's a pretty sweet ride. I was able to keep it at 55mph on a turn. I also love the hybrid automatic/manual sports transmission with the lever shifters on the wheel.
junior3869 Yt are you dumb
Do you have the performance exhaust?
+XuRpUsACID I do! Well, did. I installed the Corsa Xtreme Valve-back exhaust system on her a few months ago. New video on my channel showing the exhaust.
which mode use the least amount of gas
Eco
any ballpark you can give me an standard insurance on this car, monthly costs?
It's around $180 a month.
+ChristianW thanks! so cheap compared to Holland
So did you buy it for 71k or what? plz answer
His dad probably bought it for him , his last two cars were surprises by his dad.
whats the difference between this and the Z06
The Z06 is essentially an upgraded version of this car. Equipped with a Supercharged 6.2L V8 making 650 horsepower vs the Stingray's N/A 6.2L V8 making 460 horsepower. yo is this yours or. did you trade in thw challenger
that's what I want to know
Yeah, this is mine. We traded the challenger in for it.
Did u get rid of ur challenger
+Monster Yes sadly. We traded it for the Vette.
Thanks for the vid and running through all the interior features and menus. I'm planning on ordering one in a few months. Love when you gassed it @2:09 I can't wait to get mine!
Is it a z51?
Excellent review.
+Peugeot 905 Why thank you!
Out of interest, why did you go for the automatic gear and not the manual one? Thanks
Because that's what he wanted , it's also the faster car
+bushman 223 not really. If its got a blower or turbo with tune then yes but stock for stock no
+Ches fordham need to do some research man the manny is a lot slower than the auto
+Black Rage True
+Black Rage Not exactly my friend.. Almost ANY turbo or blower car with a Auto is faster. Add a torque converter to a auto and it will almost smoke any manual car for car.. However a stock for stock manual vs auto, the manual will almost always be faster.:-)
Man as much as I love and appreciate my parents I wish they could buy a car like this for me but I’d rather buy it myself
how much car you have
Does it drink a lot of gas and show us how the sub sounds
If you really have to worry about gas then I'd stay away from corvette
My dads gets around 19 on average, so it's not too bad.
+sniperking305 On average it gets about 17-20 mpg. I typically get around 330 miles to the tank. (18.5 Gallons)
Do they make bigger more flexible seats for someone of my size?
that Asian girl sentence can be taken outta context...
Jake Kelly It's not a sentence, it part of the comment. And yes, it's self explanatory by itself.
+I AM GOD THE SOOTH SAYER Technically it is a sentence, it begins with a capital letter, has a noun and a verb, and it ends with a period.
Jake Kelly Hypothetically and grammatically you're completely wrong. You've just uttered a terminological inexactitude.
+THE SOOTHSAYER Thats quite the problem. I don't believe they do unfortunately. I suppose you could take the roof off and ride with your head above the windshield if need be.
You did an excellent job on this....thank you.
+rustynails113 Thank you!
If you ever want to get rid of your Targa (Clear) roof for the Vette then let me know. I want one but they are expensive as hell.
Wait, what's the fuel economy?
should I buy a new raptor or a new stingray?
rico b I'm personally not a truck guy, so if it were me, I'd buy the stingray. Plus those are two very different cars so it really depends on what you're looking for out of your future car.
ChristianW you're right, I guess I'm going with a corvette.
Just bought a 2016 z51 2 lt with nav for $12,000 off sticker!!! Now is the Time!
Neil Sulish I'm buying mine tomorrow
rico b what spec ??
Very good looking car! There's a man in my town that owns either this or the Z06 in blue and it looks so sexy! I was behind him and at red light and he took off, so fast haha. Then he pulled into his driveway.
Dude how old are you? This car is beautiful
+Daniel Roberts I'm 17, and thank you!
Great review.
Ever hear of residual income? That'll definitely help get a fleet of StingRays! Potential 6 figures a month!
Honestly this was a good video
I'm surprised with how much space is in the back. If I recall the 92 corvette I looked at a week ago did not have near as much space.
Behind the screen would be a good place to hide your weed
Nate Barone i was thinking the same thing lol
If it didn’t have a button saying EXACTLY what it does haha
price?
How the heck did you get these views what did you tag?

ok, thats it. this will be my next car.

It’s worth 40k now should I get it?

I have one in my dreams I NEED ONE
Nice review
Great Review :)
Fantastic review thx
Great Radio Station man!
I thought the stingray was stickered around $55,000?
Great video

Boy I wish I had parents like you :)

nice drive

you do know this thing could challenge your dads lambo, its Sick!!!
+Dave Mackenzie Hmm, I wish! Thank you though!
I have the same car, but mine is a 7MT
+Juan Pablo If I could go back and do it again, I would've got a manual. Unfortunately when we bought the car, I didn't know how to drive manual lol
Is the corvette yours or your dads
+omer aydin It's mine.
+ChristianW So do you have the Challenger R/T and the Stingray or did you get rid of your Challenger.
+Isaiah Snead We traded the challenger on the Corvette.
did you trade both of them or not and if not witch one did you trade
+omer aydin We only traded the challenger. We still have the lambo. :)
Niiice Car!!! Love the color white on these cars
I'm looking at a 2016 stingray for $61,210 in Columbus Ohio at Bobby layman Chevrolet has the same thing except the t tops

I'm going to keep buying Camry's 😎
It's worth the money for this beast
enjoyed the video. enjoy, stay blessed, and smile at the negative. #SALUTE
200 mph? not bad but KITT can top out at 300 n Super Pursuit Mode. :)
just saying for the comment people. if I bought me a used camaro ss or mustang gt. I pay half and pay the insurance. will I be considered spoiled? yes I am able to make that kind of money, I make a very good amount every year.
plus they are 2016 or 2015
+exman55coolkid if I were you, I wouldn't worry about being "spoiled", the only people that care are the people that don't matter
Let me give you a good example
I own a 1963 mercury comet with a 5.0L turbo charged.
It's just a z06 with less peformance
Z06 has 650 hp and this stingray has around 400hp or something and it's a v8
Stringray has 455 hp (460 on Z51), and weighs around 200-250 pounds less than the Z06. 0-60 of about 3.8
lachlan lovejoy
I wasn't able to see how it sounds my eyes can't do that.
That's an amazing car.
Why didn't u guys buy zo6 u guys can obviously afford it
It's probably because it's for him, not his father.
+Flex I see
+xXSiLeNTSLaYaXx I would've loved a Z06. Unfortunately 700 horsepower is a bit much for a 17 year old lol.
