Best pedal ever. That looper is irreplaceable. Even though the hxfx looper is great, it doesn’t exactly do what the DL4 does because of have the delay mix option.
I bought one of these when they first came out. I was super intrigued with the reverse sounds. The only thing I really didn’t care for was how it sounded with any distortion or overdrive in front of it.
Just serviced mine cleaned knobs n buttons with rubbing alcohol 3 .or 4 x push tap turn lots no need to take buttons apart just switched alit worked great smooth was all sticking ECT 😮
Great Playing really Love this Video, and the Line 6 DL4 MK1 is still a great Unit, I’ve heard a lot of players prefer it to the new MK2 Version..❤️🌞👍🏻
There are mods available to add another 3 presets on top of the unit, above the control panel. That's 6 presets in total, which I'd imagine would be just enough. I adore my dl4, Multihead delay and auto-swell are magic. Try the auto swell with some compression before, and delay/verb afterwards. Pure magic.
lovely sounds john. i have a question you might be able to answer…how do i turn the pedal on without activating the presets? or do u have to use one of the presets for entry? thanks. keep up the good work!
The Lo Res delay is still one of my favs. I'd much rather use a HX pedal to get that sound though. The lack of analog dry through is a serious problem.
This sounds Awesooooome! Are these all in the Legacy of the Helix products? also is the functionality of the DL4 available in the HX products. Also, John do you set parameters in the HX delays with your expression pedal to simulate the tweaking of the parameters?
In recent weeks watching you play all sorts of instruments through all sorts of gear, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s mainly about how/what you play. You seem to be able to get a decent noise out of just about anything, your note selection, phrasing, use of space, subdivision of the beat and general tastiness kind of make the question of the instrument less relevant. Maybe it’s the other way round, a lesser player will make a k line or a custom shop whatever sound like a strangled goose?
-Trails between presets
-Looper
-Morphing between presets
How many "firsts" did the Line 6 DL4 innovate?

I have a few of the the original line 6 pedals... all still good!

My main delay pedal 🇧🇷🔥

Great pedal- incredible player

It’s a great pedal still. I actually even like the buffer in it
I recently learned Jeorge Tripps (Way Huge) was behind its design. No wonder it wound up on everyone’s board and had such staying power.
It’s a keeper forever

The tone in this video, fantastic. What other pedals where you using ?
I have one but it is a pain to get a dotted 8th delay.

I think they are mostly in there? I don't generally set too many parameters with the expression pedal, except for my freeze presets
sound like synthesizer so cool must be expensive ?
❤love mine😮❤❤❤
❤pedal bliss❤😮😮😮
Do all your klines have the same pickups? Love the colors. I’m going to have to find a dealer and play one.
The Lollar dirty blondes are in the Blue one (my favourite) and the others have Chris' own handwound pickups!
Yea it’s still worth it.

I'm actually working on a strangled goose signature range
@@johnnathancordy lol. Take my money now!
Radiohead
Ooh - was Jonny a user?
... wait a moment, did you imply that Yamaha is actively marketing this in 2021?
They're still selling them, I just asked if I could loan one
Noisy switches is deal breaker
Never bothered a howie day gig and he was the father of looping with this delay pedal.
But digital effects cannot be classic. It's against the rules.
TC 2290 says hold my delay
@@johnnathancordy rofl. That was a really good response.
