So, those Graphs are worth 350, (350 for all of them). If you're using traditional wedges and need a bunch of mixes, one show pays for them. Clean them up, plug them in. Boom. Ringing wedges out for almost nothing. Works for me.
In my opinion, I don't see the big deal about carpeted cabinets as long as they work correctly and the price is fair. Especially someone starting out. In this particular example, the price is way too high. Also, I do personally know Rick the seller for the EV rig and he has dropped the price substantially.
A Yamaha M3000A with a Genz-Benz rolling case Sold At a local auction For The reasonable price Of Thirty Five Dollars I Wanted to build a frame around it, and encapsulate it in epoxy resin And Turn it into a table top Unfortunately My truck was in the shop for a transmission replacement.
I just wrapped up a show with carpet covered speakers in one of the conference rooms. In the 15 years I've been doing these, I've used them 1 other time. They sound decent in a breakout room, but to your point they aren't my go-to. I literally had no other speakers left to do this conference centre.
The power supply is the critical piece for sure. Although, I’m not sure I’d even take one for free honestly, unless I had a ton of analog outboard sitting around already wired up for this size desk.
Yeah... for a lot of these listings, they should calling movers to take the stuff to the dump, but instead they're trying to fool someone else to pay them to take away their garbage
Another great episode. Love seeing those EV subs. A rental house had those when I was starting out. I doubt they sound as good as I remember them sounding!
The EV system is amazing price is sticker shock considering the age wear n tear. I’d totally run a local show town neighborhood festival with this system. Honestly I think for that type application can’t beat the sound. I’ve mixed on an identical system back in the day. As the video went on I’ve worked with so much of this equipment… Some of these local gigs I play and attend the mini line arrays and powered system don’t have the same vibe. Killer episode. Bet the EV system was bought from DB sound when they were bought by Clair
I saw that EV listing when it came up. You could pick up a JBL SRX or similar active rig for $26k that would be lighter, likely sound good, and would have warranties. And to your point, it would look presentable.
Analogue mixers is always a question of can I afford to look after it. Keeping a analogue console running usually out weighs the benefits of picking up a cheap second hand one. Unless channels/busses are on separate cards (usually only on the super high end & the closer you get to the 90ies the more you get 8-12 channels on a single board & unserviceable sealed pots) you are going to be paying up the ass for a teach to spend days dissembling the console.
On that Yamaha M3000A, it does come with a rack mounted power supply and the looks aren't good. For reference, one of those boards with the PSU was sold on Reverb for $750 and there's one listed on eBay with a case, PSU and redundant PSU for $1500. The power supply for it (PW3000MA) commands prices from 120 to 300 and may not come with the cable which connects it to the board. Unless you already have this board and need a parts one, I'd steer away from it.
Yamaha M3000 is a waste of space, worst thing was solo button dropped about a millimetre with no indication, 12dB hi-pass, sounded like it had a family of snakes living in it, would probably blow tweeters if you just put all 56 channels at 0dB and gain at 12 O‘clock…
@@nicholasjohnson748 i think it had „solo in place „ function too, disaster when you have headphones on and solo hi-hat middle of the show, then all the public hears is the hihat, and with headphones on takes a bit of time to notice, usually when a bottle comes flying in to FOH
Sorry I didn't do the usual Monday morning premiere this week, I've been a bit under the weather. Hope you're all having a great week all the same.

The only carpeted speakers system I would accept these days is the nexo alpha system point-source never disappointing

No practical use for the M3000A, but it might be cool under glass as a music themed bar top or something.

That Yamaha 56 console definitely has a massive rack mount PSU. I had that exact same unit for years

If the Yamaha has the power supply and if all channels work it would actually seem to be a good deal.

Absolutely, who knows what other surprises that system has in store that he didn’t mention in the ad.
I remember some pretty sketchy load-ins at Club Five back in the day. Pretty sure there was a chain hoist involved.
'Re-coned 20 years ago'. Lol. I mixed on a system that was over 32 years old earlier this season. It was not great.

930 club?
😢EV 94 horns are 90x40 degrees, 64 horns are 60x40 degree. I own EV , but the price for this rig is crazy
