How much do sims traits impact their behaviour? // Sims 4 traits experiment

- Ever wondered how much sims traits impact their behaviour? I decided to conduct a little experiment to find out the answer to that!
In this video we will be putting 2 sims with conflicting traits in separate homes with lots of activities to observe their behaviour.
Overall it was pretty disappointing. I was really hoping my sims would behave differently or interact with different objects, but they just ended up getting caught up in pretty much the same routine, which makes me think traits don’t really impact sims behaviour at all!
Do your sims behave differently based on their traits? I’d love to know in the comments!

Check my comment below, please, I would love to see you try my experiment.
It’s really frustrating with Sims obsession with computers and their phones. I made a sim who hated gaming and all she would do was play video games on the computer. Now I just lock the computer for everyone until they need it.
A Sim who hates gaming but plays computers all the time anyway?! What the frick is wrong with The Sims 4?!! It's the most broken, unfinished game I've had.
That's actually a really good idea, why have I not thought of that? :/
I hate it so much. I had a sim that would autonomously leave her friends to go browse the web on the computer. Every. Single. Time.
Its actually insane how everything revolves around phones and computers in the sims. i didnt notice until i started playing with sims living in the regency era, i just wanna travel to the museum without my sims pulling out there phones! or god forbid a sim becoming a writer without a computer...
@@firstnamelastname4778 You can travel without your phone but I do agree about the writing thing, so dissapointed that in cottage living we got that weird ugly looking computer instead of an actual typewriter that sims could write on and do homework on but not access the web and would function off the grid, eugh
"Why are our sims so obsessed with computers?" We ask, while watching a video on a computer of someone else playing the sims on their computer 😂
... We are human, not sims, most of us are not world known actor, but the sims make you able to play someone who is one.
Yeah but most of us aren't obsessed. This is like older people saying "All kids do nowadays is be on the phone!!" so EA thought that's what we do and made that part of the game. :/
Another annoyance of mine recently has been that my sims automatically go and troll the forums regardless of traits, so a nice kid sim will hop on a tablet and troll people the sae as a mean adult which dosnt make any sense to me
@@tbeth uh! I have that bug too!
Even my sims who literally dislike mischief will troll the forums and do mischief interactions autonomously. Also my kid sims always make messes no matter what their traits are, even if their character value thingy is in the responsible range. Like i had a kid with a neat trait and another kid with the good trait and they both made messes all the time and its so annoying because thats not what their personalities were supposed to be like at all
Maybe that kid was bored 🤷♀️
Two fundamentaly different people living next door that end up enjoying the same things, this is the start of a rom-com if I've ever seen one.
I wish there was a "technophobe" trait like in the sims 3, but then the sims would probably just go on the computer anyway and feel "tense" like when vegetarians autonomously make non-veg meals
There’s a technophobe lifestyle which comes with snowy escape
Or carnivores getting anything from the kitchen instead of hunting. Or sensitive eared listening to music.
Rly? My vegetarian only eats veg foods and thats on full autonomy lol
My Sim today developed the technophobe trait. There was an option to sabotage the electronics. He did start using the computer but hated himself for it and he also was fond of Latin music
One thing is that the knitting objects only works if it's in your Sim's inventory so they couldn't knit if they wanted to. I find that if the knitting basket is in the inventory, the sims will sutonomously knit (quite a lot, actually). I'm always ending up with random plants hangers and clothes in my Sim's inventory. The best traits, imo, that affect gameplay are Green Fiend (from Eco Lifestyle) because that one gets Sims to autonomously garden all the time, creative, and music lover.
This comment was so helpful, thanks!
I feel like certain negative traits impact gameplay a lot more than the positive ones. Loner, Noncommittal and Hates Children come to mind immediately.
@@mimmyrose2970 don’t forget high maintenance
I actually looked into traits at one point. The reason their behaviors weren't too bothered is because of how the trait categories work. The first category, are emotional traits. Jerrod is gloomy, which doesn't really effect his behavior, just his mood. It's more of a debuff trait for players to create a balanced trait palette. Meanwhile, Sasha's emotional trait is active, which has a positive and negative emotion, but the negative emotion is avoided by exercise, which makes her routinely exercise as to not become tense. And then Cheerful just makes her happy more often, meaning that will just end up boosting any positive feeling she's feeling. The next category is Hobby, this effects the skills and how the sims go about it. Sasha has the perfectionist trait, which means she wants every single creation to be perfect, it doesn't effect anything else. So she gets a focused moodlet when making an Excellent or above creation, and gets distressed when she makes a poor quality creation. Which is probably why she scrapped the microwave meal. The Next category is Lifestyle traits, this effects how sims go about their life. The default way of living is just about how Sasha went about taking care of her needs and her surroundings. Because Jerrod had both Lazy and Slob, he was less inclined to take care of a lot of things. He was less inclined to clean because it was too much work and he didnt mind the filth. He was more inclined to sleep nap because the Lazy trait increases the rate in which he gets tired. He would have never autonomously exercised because that actually gives him a negative moodlet. (And sims are designed to avoid negative moodlets, which is why he finally showered because he was Grungy). If you gave Sasha Active, Neat, and Perfectionist, you probably would've seen more differences in routine.
As for the items inside the sims' rooms. Neither of them would have ever touched the plant without a skill in gardening. the Knitting basket only triggers autonomy when placed inside the sims inventory. Without a pre-existing skill in Mixology, or the Juiced Community N.A.P. they probably would never touch the Mixology table. Maybe foodie or an aspiration in mixology would influence, but otherwise it wasn't going to happen. Nor do they autonomously vacuum, at least not that I've ever seen. And anything wellness, obviously, requires the aspriations, the pre-existing skill, and maybe high maintenance.
The only other thing which would trigger an increased rate of which the do any skills is the N.A.P.S.
Performing Arts: they'd play guitar
Fun-Loving: more dart board, video games, tv
and so forth.
Edit: The Adventurous trait would make them also try every skill in that room to avoid being tense about not trying something new
Yeah, a lot of activities they won't do autonomously until you've made them do it yourself to unlock the skill first like you said. There's unfortunately even more things that they straight up won't do autonomously from what I've noticed (writing, gourmet cooking and baking, DJing, pet training, archaeology, flower arranging, acting, media production, robotics, research & debate, juice fizzing, medium, I'm sure there's more) which is kind of disappointing... I know a lot of those skills involve needing materials or spending money, but sims autonomously buy food all the time and if the materials are in their inventory why not let them use it? Though I suppose some people would probably get tired of sims using up rare items they're trying to save.
Also, dunno if it's just me, but my sims LOVE to do yoga autonomously. I almost never direct them to do it and they'll unlock Wellness on their own. They also really like to practice singing out in the middle of nowhere.
Agreed, although they can autonomously gourmet cook after the reach level 6 because that's like a milestone bridge
Agreed, although they can autonomously gourmet cook after the reach level 6 because that's like a milestone bridge
This reminds me of how their personal likes and dislikes actually affect things more than their overall traits
Even so far as to making them compatible and non compatible
If they are non compatible they will fight/argue and sometimes avoid each other all together
Their relationships also build up a lot more slowly than compatible
This is so helpful
I think the perfectionist trait only affects things they make - like they have higher standards for their own art, food, etc which means they get more stressed but make higher quality stuff. The neat trait is the one that affects how tidy they are and how they are affected by dirty/broken stuff in their environment. :)
i think that's why she threw away the microwave meal after she made it!
@@madsahren2208 Oh, that would make sense! If that's why she threw it out, that would be kind of funny.
You would think an ambition or like to paint would actually lead them to paint though; even random npc sims will autonomously paint at the easels in the art district.
Really? I don't play the Sims 4, but in the Sims 3 perfectionists are both neat freaks and rude bitches. Like one minute they would neatly make every bed, the next rudely point out the flaws of their roommates 💀💀
@@dundee6402 that seems less realistic then real life. That would make sense if they had perfectionism combined with something like rude, mean, nosy, or controlling (I'm listing human traits not ones in Sims 3). In real life, perfectionists have a lot of self-hate and doubt and they can find it harder to engage in unguaranteed pursuits (if they get down on themselves too much.) I think it would take an especially cruel or helicoptering person to flip it on others, excluding the occasional flip out of an extremely stressed impulsive person. Perhaps they are thinking the judgements, but most wouldn't say them out loud. In that regard, maybe the Sims 4 is more realistic for perfectionism??
In my experience, TS4 prioritises some aspects when deciding what a sim should do. These would be, in order:
1. Neutral activities: Activities that do not give any skill points to the sim (darts, horseshoe, reading non skill-related books, watching TV, using the PC, browsing phone, listening to music and then dancing - dancing wasn't a skill before GT, etc.) and also playing video games, which does gain skill
2. Emotional activities: Activities influenced by emotions, like: exercising if energized, trolling the forum if playful, painting or using an instrument if feeling creative
3. Skill-based activities: Any skill-related activity that the sim already has at least one skill point in, it's more likely to happen the more skill they have (in my experience)
4. Trait-based activities: Sims will sometimes do activities related to their personality (only some traits). Active sims are likely to exercise - but usually because of their mood and their skill.
(Bonus: Social activities. If available, sims will very often talk to each other, whether they need social or not, and will usually just idle chat. This is a very high priority aspect, maybe even higher than all 4.)
So, as you see... Trait or personality-based activities seem to rank the lowest. The game will tend to prioritise a sim's active moodlets and skills over their personality when deciding what task to give them. Most personality traits only affect sims' behaviour by triggering a higher priority event, so to say: like giving a moodlet (2) or resulting in higher skills (3), the trait itself isn't considered all that much. For example: An active sim will get energized moodlets more often than other sims, which will make them exercise and gain fitness skill, and later on the fitness skill will influence them to exercise again.
And if I write it out, it sounds great, doesn't it? It sounds cohesive, and if you think about it, that's how it should work, an active sim should feel more motivated to work out, and that motivation should result in more exercise happening. It works really well in theory. But it's not good in actual gameplay, and the result is what we all saw in the video. The reason is that their personality ranks way too low in terms of priority. Whereas in real life what you choose to do in your freetime is heavily affected, even commanded by your personality, in TS4 personality is a mere suggestion that the game takes into account when deciding what a sim should do, and it's often shrugged off in favor of a temporary emotion caused by an object in the room or something. It makes every sim behave pretty much the same.
I'd be super interested to see how the older games would do. Also, sorry for the long comment, I tried to explain it as best as I could. And remember: these are my theories based on observation. I don't know how the game is actually coded, but this seems to be a pattern.
Yep it Shows the Gurus had the right idea but like always neded more time . At this point we get extra s sthems to help out like lifestyles
True, but there is another thing wants and fear (used to be whims), the traits affect those and those that don't require much player input (like needing to go somewhere) have a somewhat high priority. The game was made to be played with those on with the option to turn off, so the balancing and autonomy was made with them in mind, so turning them off and then complaining about them would be like ordering a Big Mac at Mcdonalds and not wanting the Special Sauce and getting mad that your burger is dry.
@@whisperinwind87 I always had them turned on and I've never seen them affect autonomy in any way whatsoever.
Sure, my sim goes to a bar and gets a want to order a drink and to dance, and actually does that - but that happened even prior to the update, and even with whims turned off, because sims are coded to behave that way in bars and are drawn to bars and stereos anyway.
Now with the fears and wants, my sim pretty much always gets some kind of fear and never autonomously talks about it (even though they want to), doesn't go outside at night on their own when confident (even though they want to), and doesn't do any wants autonomously unless it's something like talking to someone they live with or listening to music, because they've been doing that for years, even with whims turned off.
I don't think fears and wants balance the autonomy system in any way. At the very least I've been playing since launch with them always turned on, autonomy on, and I've never seen sims act on any whims/ wants&fears on their own (unless, as I said, it's a general activity listed in my OG comment). They're more so a suggestion to the player, not a deciding factor in the AI.
Regardless of whether whims/wants are based on the sim's traits (fears are not), we're talking about autonomy here, what sims choose to do on their own without player input, not what they think about doing but won't actually do unless they're told to.
I would trade out perfectionist for the neat trait. Perfectionist only affects the sims’ creative work (they’re more likely to create masterpieces).
Yeah, well... supposedly that sim had an ambition to paint.
Love this! Might be better to just have 1 trait difference between the sims to really see the difference (active vs. lazy, neat vs. slob).
Ideas for other tests: good vs. evil, creative vs. genius, childish vs. hates children
Creative vs Geek would be cool too.
I've found that the likes/dislikes actually affect what my sims do a lot. In one save, I have two twin girls who are teens now, one likes animals and the other likes gardening and the garden girl will automatically go garden if things need being done and gets positive moodlets from it. It's nice. I wish taking care of animals had a skill so my other twin would do that automatically!
So Active and Slob clearly have effects. I'm not sure what you were expecting Cheerful and Gloomy to do, especially given that the cell was so well-decorated they always had a +Happy moodlet.
I've definitely seen sims spontaneously paint, they might have to be Creative. I think you could choose traits that would have bigger differences with static objects and no social interactions.
Sims will naturally gravitate towards whatever is the most fun thing to do. Take away the computer they go to the TV, take that away-dart board, etc.
Also, for them to do any knitting it needs to be in their inventory.
Are you sure Jared is gloomy? He's been in a good mood the entire time, even when he has a sad moodlet from gloomy, he's still generally happy.
Very true, Mega Karen
Yeah that was because of the Decor. She just decorated too well, it overpowered the other moodlets quite a lot
My experience has been pretty much the same. My sims just cycle through activities. Usually painting, computer, exercising and TV.
Sims 4 sims sure do look after themselves. They are so, self contained?
Sims 2 sims would probably have burnt the house down or had a breakdown and had the therapist or social bunny visit and just been way more chaotic.
I think you would notice more difference if sasha was neat instead of perfectionist and creative instead of cheerful.
Those are stronger traits Ive notice :)
My creative sims are always painting by themselves when they get inspired randomly because of the trait.
About the knitting basket and the vaccum they would use it if they had it in their inventory.
Love your videos, so fun
The knitting basket has to be in their inventory for them to use it
Yes that's what I thought too ik the first place, but I also think she attend to find out if they put it into inventory on their own or not and do it autonomously.
@@meitho2 but they literally can’t, like you can’t interact with it unless it’s in their inventory, and they can’t put things in their inventory by themselves, so it’s impossible
Yes I know. But as I said I think she tried it without putting in the inventory. And this video just proof this is not possible without putting it manually in your inventory. That is the concept of an experiment. Try and error. Q.e.d. - Quod erum demonstrandum :D
Jared is like the "this is fine" dog but instead of flames around him it's that green odor fog lmaoooo
I feel like they were as different as I expected. The slob and lazy traits were the most powerful for the guy, and the active trait was the most powerful for the girl. I think the fact that she cleaned and he didn’t and she showered and he didn’t was a big enough difference to at least show that the traits work a bit.
i personally feel like there were very different patterns in their behavior! and in real game play i think you would see more traits crop up, and situations where their traits affect them. Like if the slob goes out while unshowered, people will react to him stinking- just one example. perfectionist is probably not the right trait for this test, they just take longer to do things and are more likely to scrap a project in the middle of doing it. it doesnt make them more likely to do things though, maybe creative would have been a good one to test
In my experience, Sims only interact with certain skill-building items, if they have the trait that goes with it. So artistic Sims will autonomously paint, active Sims will use workout equipment, and those who love the outdoors are likely to do gardening. Otherwise, they won't interact with those items until you get them started. Whereas things like using the computer, reading, and watching TV, don't take a skill (though certain skills can be built by those things). Interestingly, even with the creative trait, I've never had a sim sit at the computer and choose to write. But maybe all that is just my Sims being awkward! Has anyone else noticed this with their Sims?
I noticed the exact same habits. It's frustrating that creativity means painting in the sims 4, while it can be writing, play music, doing floral composition, start to work in a creative job, etc. This game is so repetitive, and Im tired to force myself to imagine new patterns and profiles everytime I try to figure out WHO my sims is, despite he's supposed to have a personnality.
@@Eltyanistah yes, much as I love Sims 4, they really didn't do a good job with personality and individuality.
Cool experiment! I do think their traits showed up, especially in the state of their houses, her choice to work out a bunch, and him playing in dust and napping in a chair, but I’d love to see you do this in other sims games!
“he’s been awake for about an hour and a half now so perfect time to lay on the couch anf get some shuteye” 🤣🤣 also video idea: how long does it take to get fired from a job in the sims!
I would love a sims 3 traits experiment, I bet that autonomously they would do so much things that actually fit their personnalities!
Even in sims 2, I know that lazy sims VS active, shy VS extrovert, etc, it was really impactful
But I would really like to see thoses previous game in action to demonstrate it :)
I kept busting up over the dissapointed contempt in your voice every time you'd observe what Jared was doing.
"what's Jared doing, you're gonna read a book? What book? The First Unicorn? Isn't that a kids book?"
The reason why our sims always go to their computer and ignore everything around them might be the fact that irl all we do is looking at our phones instead of enjoying what surrounds us nowadays ! Haha
Boomer mindset
Would love to see how this plays out over a longer period.
SEND THIS TO EA please for the next laundry list update fix. YOU JUST DID A PLAY TESTING on EA's behalf which took a few minutes of you day to do this experiment but after 7years of sims 4 EA just doesnt have the time.
I have never seen a hot headed sim autonomously decide to fight someone.
In order for your test to work, you need to get rid of useless objects, and make a very careful selection on the ones you keep based on amount of fun they provide. For example the bookcase is fun 5, those TVs were fun 7. In order to make them use computer less you need to chose a cheap computer (the 2nd on - "How low can you go"). You also need to provide music - the wall speaker (fun 2) is great - and chose a TV with way less fun (that will make sims dance instead of watching TV). Washing clothes and cleaning is not (AFIK) coded into sims independent behavior - unless they have "neat" or childhood behavioral traits ("responsible" and "well mannered"). For workout you need a separate room with energizing decor and fun providing workout machines - such room can make a lazy slob hit fitness 10 in no time.
Bottom line, the surroundings you provide modify the moods of the sims and that directly influences their behavior. If you would've chosen traits that add moodlets (like romantic or creative) those would've had noticeable impact on sims actions. If you ever want to repeat this "experiment" I hope you will remember my suggestions.
Between Retro Gaming Sundays and now trait experiment videos, Whiny Brit is my current favorite Sims TH-camr.
Yes yes yes please repeat this experiment in Sims 2 & 3 🙏🏼 very curious how much behavior has changed from game to game
I find old school personality points much richer in determining behavior.
yeah, sims 2 did it best imo.
The only noticeable difference I've found in sims, is how they get along with each other depending on traits. When I started, I really liked Paolo Rocca. Mainly because a sim I was playing just hit it off amazingly with him, and I never touched them because their autonomy was so entertaining to just leave them alone. They never wanted to be apart.
But when I had another sim hook up with him, that had different traits, they ignored each other most of the time. It was a huge difference. So for me, that's where traits kick in, not in their behavior by itself. Ever since, I'm always looking for sims that work good with each other, because it's entertaining as hell.
I think this is on point because when they were designing The Sims 4 their big focus was on how sims interact with each other, not necessarily how they act alone. So put them in a room with things to do, they'll mostly pick the things that raise their fun and social. Put them in a room with other sims and that's where more of their personality traits actually are apparent. (Especially the ones that control social behavior, such as mean, evil, goofball, good, outgoing, etc.)
I agree! I played 2 sims and they fell in love. They were so happy. Did everything together. It was so fun to watch, but one ended up dying so I found him another woman. Not compatible, barely talked to each other, way harder to build their relationship
Very interesting! I’d like to see this same experiment, but with Sasha and Jerrod sharing the space together.
I had a sim in sims3 that hated outdoors so when he would come home from work, he would literally run to his bedroom (the only enclosed place on the lot at the time) and it made me break out laughing every time
Omg, no exaggeration I don't know how I would even play without you! You inspire me so much in every single video. This is a GREAT way to kind of get to know your sims right when you start! THANK YOU!
Came for Sims content.
Stayed for your commentary.
Continued to stay for the wild dust bunny in the background that just kept rocking out.
10/10 would watch again.
A fun experiment could be making a Sim who's a party animal and a loner, but hates dancing as well as all types of music; we watch them suffer and/or (somehow) make friends at parties? I've thought up a girl's name: Demi Quaver (because it's ironic :)
I think a series of these side by side competitions would be great, kind've like Gray Still Plays' survival themes or interesting challenges to see who's the last one standing
I hate goofball sims pranking the toilet in their own house. My dude broke it usually 3 times a day... Can they really not code goofballs to NOT destroy their OWN toilets?
I think traits were designed to affect emotions more than autonomy. Since I think most simmers don’t really just let their sims do whatever they want anyways. Lazy sims will get annoyed when made to work out while active sims will thrive.
Also they seem to really resist learning new skills themselves, but once learned they’ll be much more likely to work on them without being prompted? It would be interesting to see this same experiment done, but you just make them gain the first level in all available skills then leave them to do their thing.
I know I'm a month late to the party and your channel, but I would really enjoy seeing this experiment redone with the Sims 3. Thanks for the good content!
Great video! Just FYI, you can just lock the computer/laptop if you don't want to keep going into build mode.
Thanks for testing things like this.
A lot of times during a stream I will stop controlling a Sim and let them live there best life. Nice to know they are really living there best life. Makes me happy.
Great Video as always.
If she made a salad that tasted bad and she ate it anyway, she deserves to be uncomfortable. This entire video was captivating, and yes please do the same if possible with other Sims versions. I expect previous versions will have Sims doing a wider variety of activities. I was disappointed to see them doing the same ones repeatedly in this video.
I'd be curious to see this experiment with two identical Sims and see how much of their behavior is based on personality and how much is random. Maybe a full household 8 identical Sims each in their own identical little apartments for a week and see how differently they turn out.
SCIENCE! lol
The thing is that there's plenty of evidence to suggest that the more Sims are in a household, the dumber they get, at least in TS4...
I don't know why I suddenly had the urge to see Eliza and Bob Pancakes do this experiment at the end of the video. lol
you're probably the only youtuber that I laugh out loud with. I just found you and am in loveee with your videos. You are so funny!
If you give a sim the creative trait they'll autonomously go and paint or practice an instrument.
Do the newer bookcases have skill books as standard inventory? I noticed that they aren’t even in the bookcases at the library. In Sims 3 I would go to the library early on to get the boost for reading in the library plus free skill book access which highlighted that difference between games. I believe it’s only novels and kids books, and toddler books when you get the kid oriented bookshelves that came after toddlers were added.
I think Jared needs some Prozac.....gloomy, yet so cheerful? Like ..his smile was literally everything every time you panned to him lol
I don't know why you said "We're going to be...I guess doing another experiment" with a question mark at the end when we all know, that above all else, this is an educational channel. Lol
EA needs to make Sims behave more noticeably different from one another. It always feels like I'm playing with the same sim
Narrator voice: Jared did not, infact, wash his hands
I think the reason they don’t prefer to build skills autonomously is that the AI seems to prioritise fun (which computers, dart boards, tvs and books have in common) when their needs are taken care of. And sims don’t get fun from things they do not particularly like so that’s pretty much your fault (not trying to blame you but they aren’t that different since they don’t have any preferences) I would conduct this experiment with either all the hobbies liked to see their real preferences or give them some dislikes to see if they will avoid those. But tbf most of the traits are rather useless when you aren’t actively using what they are for
This was very interesting. I'd love to see it in the other Sims games too.
did i just watch a 30 min video of sims doing almost absolutly nothing? yes yes i did
11:50 Bit of darts during the adverts I think.
21:18 He didn't wash his hands, dirty bastard.
For a gloomy sim, Jared is really happy 🤔
Poor Jarred.🤣 His creator keeps ripping on him for living his own life.
I'd really love to see what would happen in sims 3 with this experiment. More experiments and their comparision to sims 3 would be really interesting to me.
Your commentary was everything lol. I’m. Actually shocked they didn’t paint… but knitting has to be in there inventory for them to knit.
This was super interesting to watch! Thank you for always giving us the answers we're too lazy to Google. This is 1000 times more entertaining
I've noticed with my Sims, they won't autonomously paint unless I initiate the skill the first time.
I've had them do it by themselves to start the skill. It'll happen if they're inspired. These two sims never got that moodlet.
Definitely try this with other Sims game, and yes, loving the experiments videos!
Something that help with sims and computer, make them hate videogames.
I seriously love your commentary 🤣 I find myself laughing so much!!! 😆 love this experiment video! It's fun to just see what the sims will do but your commentary makes it the best! Haha
Also think it'd be a laugh to do this with like 4 or more sims, all dramatically different obviously. Definitely use the neat trait or something 🤔
Experiment of two married couples in the sims...
Swap perfectionist for neat, and have 3 of each in each house, 3 neat and athletic roommates in one home, and 3 lazy slobbish sims in the other
Love your videos, especially these experiments. Your commentary is just gold! Would you be willing to share your Sims on the Gallery, pretty please?
I hate that all my sims will EVER DO is go to the damn computer no matter what I command them to do it's always the computer.
id love this room in the gallery
I'm actually amazed at seeing the sims use the dartboard autonomously. None of my sims ever chose the dartboard on their own.
I feel like doing this for a week would give you better results. Also, as other people have said switching out her perfectionist trait for the neat trait 👍🏻😁 if all else fails you could always add a little chaos like the gremlins lot trait lol
Would love to see how this experiment compares to the Sims 2 and 3! Great concept
Would love to see this in the other sims games. Given in the sims 3 they have a lot more traits too so it would be interesting to see
Would love to see similar experiments in like Sims 2 or 3
“I wonder what their dreaming about” I literally got an ad for San Diego.
I would love to see the same experiment done in the sims 3. I feel like we would see a difference in the sims 3
I would like to see more experiments like this. Especially to see the difference with the sims 3!
I think for sims to autonomously paint is to have at least level 1 in painting otherwise they won't touch the easel.
Really? I didn't know that, that's interesting
I feel like the Gurus should watch this video because it kind of shows everything wrong with the Sims 4. Great job! Thanks for the video!
im sure you get this a lot but your intro is probably the best TH-cam intro I've ever seen LMAO
😳 this is similar to how quarantine went. Now I feel like I was a part of a sim challenge
my sim decided she hated mischief but started doing so many mischievous actions, more than she had ever done before she hated mischief and to top it off, she was a goofball!
Feels like im watching the Olympics haha love the narrating !!
Like someone else mentioned, Sims can't autonomously knit if it's not in their inventory, just like they can't be told to knit if it's not in their inventory. But also: I've never seen a Sim autonomously use the thermostat, only autonomously light the fireplace. So yeah, if left to their own devices the Sims would freeze to death/die of the heat. Jered was very cold there at the end. I think if doing this experiment I'd try to have items with equal Fun levels, to see if preferences would form, because otherwise I think they're going for items with higher Fun.
Anyway, enjoyed this. Your commentary was amusing. :D
Every time she says: hi thanks for watching my video I just have to say: hi dear thanks for making this video😂
im jared before he started copying sasha
Locking the computer would have been more convenient than deleting it everytime. I've noticed some of my sims are more drawn to them than others, so I end up locking the computers in the house from those who autonomously do nothing else than play on their pc and it makes gameplay more fun! :) This was fun to watch and I loved the aesthetic of those houses.
Id love to see more experiments like this!!
I loved the video. I have an idea have a death party. I want to know how Sims would decide to die. What would the Sims have for their cause of death. Have three " options" cow plant, ( insert death here), ( insert death here). I wonder how they would die and of course have different ages. Let them choose how they go.
I think comparing this to sims 3 would be really interesting. cool idea, thanks for sharing your vid.
The computers are their only means of socializing.
i assume its because the computers have higher fun gain
you sound a little bit like my manager, and i find it amusing to imagine my manager playing sims :) we even talked about gaming once and i mentioned the sims and she mentioned enjoying it lol.
Sims 4 traits don't impact game play at all. But I'm excited for you to try this experiment in the Sims 3, so we can see the difference.
