For people that didnt understand here are the steps to enable CSM support , if you wanna enable CSM support (cuz people are somehow struggling with this in the comments) turn on your pc and keep pressing F2 until the options menu pops up press F7 to enter advanced mode then click on SECURITY option then click CSM support. Enable it and Voilà ! Hope this comment helped someone

THANKS, THANKS,THANKS ... I had to reset my Asus X554L to factory settings. Everything worked out fine, Win10 installed itself. After that I added a few things like Google chrome, Skype etc ... everything worked great, so I still had to install my printer tomorrow, I thought ... but when I started my laptop I had an illuminated gray screen and the arrow of the mouse. So ... panic ... so much work for nothing, I thought. So went to search on Google, but I'm a layman of 73 years old, so everything was not clear. I also have a recovery drive for Win10, but it did nothing. Then just go to TH-cam to watch and came on your video. Tap ... tap the home button and F2 and there came the Asus logo, the circle started rotating and ... everything seems fine now. I am so happy and thank you again for your video. I hope everything stays fine now. I just subscribed on your chanel! Wish you a nice day and stay healthy during this time of Corona!!! Regards from Croatia from a happy old Granny!!!
Thank you it worked for me i tapped esc and F2 at the same time right from when I power the laptop on and the ez boot mood didn’t appear, and slowly the windows sign came up and I had to download a update that it automatically did thru bootmood then returned back to windows normal sign in screen.. great result I kept trying every other way and it wasn’t working

Hi... I'm trying to recover my cousin's laptop, because he forgot his password, by resetting it to factory settings. His biggest mistake was that he didn't realize the battery wasn't full, I wasn't aware of that either. Now it's stuck at 64% then the laptop logo appears, turns off, then turns on again the logo appears again, and I can't restart or enter Windows settings, I've tried everything. Can you help me? I'm really frustrated, because this is not my laptop. Also i've been try to closed it, and turn on again, after I charge the laptop, but it doesn't work. If anybody can help me, pleasee 🥺

Soplo yup .... yesterday i went to Asus Service and they told me most of ROG has the same issue ... either you must download the newest BIOS or the problem is in your motherboard ... if you wanna try just download the newest bios to the Flash disk and try to install ...

It requires a working 2nd computer
F2 to get the boot menu. You can as well clone your drive easily now to your new drive before hand. In this laptop, very easy to do since 2 spaces already. No need for an adaptor. Thanks a lot for your video showing be how to deal with it all as a noob. Awesome. :)

Hello man i did exactly the same step that you showed on the video but i get to a black screen saying “reboot and select drive or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key” instead of start up menu.

Mine said the same thing I reformated my hard drive and set its partition to active using easeus partition (you can download it for free)
Then I've added a windows 10 on that hard drive and used it as the 1st option to boot up just like what was done on the video and kaboom it automatically installs the windows it really just super damn slow and you need to have a lot of patience. I literally haven't slept for a straight night up til' 10 in the morning until I've finished it.

I ve studied about this type of error and i find out that is common to happen
Maybe the Source of that problem mine and yours on the laptop must be the HD disk
In other words: the Windows reader
Cuz all the time i turn it on after discharge it And recharge it, it says fixiing disk error probabaly to fix it need to replace the HD disk thing
Ima gonna do that replace the thing, i ll report back to ya in order to not take some extreme actions

For those who this did not work, try this (worked for me):
- Using Rufus with GPT (UEFI:No CSM)
- Disable Secure Boot;
- Boot by USB by selecting your USB pen on F8 (Boot Menu);
- Install, done

I had a problem. Changed HDD to SSD. Laptop stuck on boot load. Looked like the bios didn't see the SSD. Couldn't access bios unless unplugged the ssd. Settings change didn't help. After 1 week of suffering, found the solution - bought a new SSD. Looks like SSD must be preformatted in a certain way to be recognized...

rafik madrid put in a windows 10 boot drive on usb and plug it in and turn it off and turn it back on it happens to me that’s how I fixed it then windows will load
Does your old files will get deleted when u insert windows 10 boot?
If Secure Boot State is greyed out and appears to be not clickable, then change your OS type to "Windows UEFI mode" and click the "Key Management" drop down where you will clear secure boot keys

If this doesn’t fix your computer you have a virus and somebody deleted windows and to fix this you need a new drive with windows installed Yw
I held down Ctrl + Alt + Delete until my Zenbook restarted. Once it restarted, it went back to normal.

Too late XD but here are the steps : boot your pc. Keep pressing F2 then go to Advanced Mode (F7) then go to the SECURITY option then enable CSM option
New asus notebooks have not in bios CSM and working only with bootable USB stick created by MediaCreationTool from Microsoft (www.microsoft.com/ro-ro/software-download/windows10). After you are doing bootable usb stick by this tool , restore default bios, plug the stick and restart.

I don't know if it helps anyone, but i had same problem on my old Asus Vivobook 17. It turned out, that battery was too old and couldn't turn on laptop. I removed battery and laptop worked on. Then placed battery in again and gave it time to recharge

This laptop cannot in any way be configured it's grayed out non-selectable don't know who decided it was a good idea to make it harder for the consumers, but this pisses me off thanks for your best, unfortunately it won't work for this sadistic laptop.
