I was literally taking notes in Google Sheets when you said how important tracking was ha. This video is stellar, thank you for the value. Our stories are running a bit in reverse (although I too lost some hearing when I was younger and making music). Recently had my Amazon business collapse (mostly my own doing) and returning to music production. I'm a decade removed so I have no clue what today's scene is like, but these are phenomenal fundamentals that if applied will create results (long as the music isn't trash). Thank you for making this.
Ayyyy… I have a slightly similar story, from a couple years ago… I started back around 2004 or 2005, just a few years out of high school. Went to fry’s, built a nice PC for around $750, started installing SW like Cubase 1.5 and a bunch of cracked VST instruments and plugins and stuff. Lmao 😂 Made and recorded a ton, got into DJ’ing too (self taught on original CDJ-1000’s, as soon as they released at Guitar Center), made a bunch of my own screwed and chopped mix tapes/CD’s, was DJ for a few bands, DJ for a few events and a bunch of parties, performed some hiphop shows (DJ and rapper) in Austin, TX, organized a few Hiphop shows, DJ’d with a ton of bands, was on TV, played the Paramount theater twice, filmed a couple professionally produced music videos, and was about to start touring with one or two of the bands too… Then I started a family, grew up a tad, did a lil more music with the same homie as when I started, when we reunited in like 2013-2015. We released our first official album, started promoting our music and playing shows again, and we were working on a sophomore album (Fresh and Kleen, Austin, TX). Then I decided to start a fishing career that took off pretty well, and it took every bit of my free time for the next 5-6 years, as it was fairly successful… Then the pandemic hit… we moved out to the middle of nowhere, got hit with an ICEPOCALYPSE in Feb 2021, and had no power/water at our home for almost a week. We were fine, but BOREDOM was hell… I had nothing to do…. So I decided to start messing with Garage Band on my iphone, and realized how EASY it was to create music these days with almost no hardware, and just a handful of apps. My mind was blown to say the least… This reignited my passion, gave me a huge HUNGER and a serious THIRST to learn more, so I dove HEAD FIRST into relearning music production, and exploring, and discovering all of the resources and tools that are out there these days to do it. I never realized how much/how long I had been LIVING UNDER A ROCK… it was insane…took me a while to get caught up (bout 1.5-2 years), but it was worth EVERY SECOND. I’ve now made more Music on my mobile device, in the last three years, then I EVER did on a computer, in all 16 years prior to the pandemic, combined. 💯

No one will start earning even 5k a month doing things you talked about, this things don’t lead to money. Other things lead to sales, and most often it depends on how good your instrumental is, and how well your videos adapt to TH-cam algorithms, the rest is just secondary and not necessary. I speak from a personal experience. I’m just tired of people who not saying anything REALLY useful, but they yappin about making 100k from beats just to gain a lil views. Maybe you show us your monthly beat sales?
It’s pretty obvious that you have no idea what you’re talking about. Shoot me a message once you make your first $100k. I did over $800k doing exactly what I break down in this video and if you doubt it or want to disagree it’s purely your loss kid. I just think it’s funny that people who talk the loudest in the comments are the ones who are struggling the most and projecting their frustrations. God bless.
The TH-cam algorithm gods blessed me with this video and your knowledge and I cannot express the rejuvenated feeling I have towards music production again. This is hands down, one of the best vids on here regarding this subject. Subscribed 🤘

3:44, about that. What do you do if you already are good in many genres? Do you try to engage by using different accounts? Do you approach it sequentially (approach x genre then approach y genre etc)? Do you ditch the other genres and master your craft on the one that's hot right now? Do you try to create something new that combines all of the genres?
But how do you message rappers and build your list? When you reach out to work with someone they expect it to be for free because you’re the one who reached out to THEM?
Thank you so much for your insight. I did not know you were in the beats business. I became a true fan today, notification bell on. I am eager to apply this information. You confirmed my intuition and also provided new nuggets of knowledge.
Don't forget the perks of different leases. Streams and album sales limitations, how many radiostation you allowed to play the beat at, how many music video you allowed to release. Also there is trackouts lease where you can separately mix the instrumets and WAV lease which is high defined than MP3. Aaand you can't lease the beat after it's sold exclusively 😂

When it comes to getting your music into videogames and movies, that's called sync licensing and I would recommend looking up Michael Elsner. He's the king of sync.
I put the nonexclusive Beat lease prices on 8 beats I put on beatstars at $5,000 because I don't even want some bullshit ass rapper to lease a beat that can't even put gas in their car if they even even have a car at all. can we download the excel sheets?
How do you find sounds to use in your beats (808s, kicks, pads etc), but without copyright. I wanna make profit off of music, but im worried about copyright and that stuff.
you can't copyright an 808 or kick, so dont worry about that. Cymatics is good
Thank you
how can i build a relationship? what are things i can talk about/ text them?
Yeah this is exactly why I will never try to monetise my music. "My art my craft" like yes...
