Excellent video, thanks for posting. Actually been doing some antenna comparisons last few days using WSPR. Fantastic for experimenting with. 73's from VK3 land.

Linus, it's been a busy summer season for me... This fall, I'm going to get out and deploy each of my QRP kits, and hone my field skills. The QRP Labs QMX, QCX Mini(s), and my QDX LoBander... have all spent too much time idle.
I have always enjoyed your videos, and field deployments, whether off your eBike, or mobile in your van. I like your style, and have adapted and adopted many of your practices & gear. Minimal, robust, simple and easy to use. Thanks Linas for your Elmership and expertise.

@@randalltom9750 Thanks Rand! It's always a pleasure to read your comments, and I'm very glad you renew your field exercising! Your QRP rigs collection is impressive , so I'm sure you gonna have tons of fun outdoorsy! So wish you a good wx, first of all , and a high spirit. 73! Linas LY2H

Always a pleasure to hear and see you explain things in a calm and clear way Linas 😀 I'm a fan of the WSPR mode since the very beginning somewhere late 2008. I posted 2 comments already but YT decides to delete them if there are links to other webpages, even if I write the link in a 'decomposed' way. Ohwell..... Anyway, tnx for the video and enjoy your radios....73, Patrick ON4CDJ

Happy Easter :) I run a WSPR and scrape the data from WSPR, its cool watching the propergation transofrm into visual graphs and table data. I'm still waiting on my stand alone WSPR generator from Norway, but looking forward to it..

Linas... Thanks again my friend! I've recently made & purchased several new antennas. Your video reminds me I should test them both. I bought a Gabil 7350 vertical, and built a K6ARK EFλ/2 for 20m. 72 de W7UDT

Thanks Randall! I’m very glad to hear about your recent antenna projects! WSPR could really be a good helper in getting a picture on where your waves are going to :) Good luck, let me know how was it all going. Have a nice weather and lots of fun! 73! LInas LY2H

If you're in a situation where you don't have an "atomic clock" or access to the Internet and need to synch for WSPR, there's an iPhone (and GPS-equipped iPad) app called GPSdiagnostic that takes time directly from the the atomic clocks in GPS satellites. Just be aware that, as it notes, the processing means it's giving the time one second behind.

    Hi,
I recently set up telescope whip antenna on my balcony, have video about building coil for this. After that I used rtl-sdr v4 dongle as a receiver and orange pi zero 2w (system on chip) for decoding and reporting WSPR. My configuration is very chip, small and lightweight. But I have a lot of fun with it. My configuration is running about two months but I already discovered best time for DX with particular countries.
For example, on wspr rocks site you can select as tx vk3qn and my callsing sp2rm as rx, than select interval 5 weeks. Finally on the charts select snr vs time of day and figure out best time for calling CQ VK 😊
Also by this I check propagation, select chart SNR vs multiple days and see days when SNR bigger than zero. But having access for wspr database we can perform more interesting analytics.
The sad 😢part of this that there's only one RX station (me) on 20m band in Poland. I cannot say this is popular to receive wspr even antenna is not used for QSOs

Thanks for sharing your experience with po zero, very interesting! I'm sure more SP stations will turn into experimentations on WSPR soon! 73! Linas LY2H

Hi linas, happy Easter. I also test ants using the many sdr rx around the world, tx a small signal , watch the waterfall in another country and switch ant, instantly seeing what the signal does. 73 my friend, zl3xdj.

Regarding to time configuration, a few times a failed to get wspr run correctly because my phone was out of sync more than a second. I solved this problem by installing NTP clock or atomic clock phone apps which have enough correctness. Using these apps a can easily set up time on my qcx.
BTW, what site or app you used on video for wspr analytics?

Nice! I'm using the WSPR Watch app for iOS. But it's based on the same wsprnet.org database, as , actually, most if not all, other apps do. 73! Linas LY2H
