    To many people these day wouldn't do what you did without a seatbelt or helmet I am so glad to see you show faith in your creation. And I would rather be seen driving your contraption than some production model any day. When I was a kid we used to weld two automatic scooters together and race them. they worked suprisingly well. No youtube back then. So hats off to a potentially great engineer!!!

    Man! You're construction materials are so excellently basic! Right down to the angle iron. You're engineering is exquisite. What a problem solver! A friend an I are thinking of building two similar vehicles for ourselves and are very inspired.

    Wow - you need to find a wrecked KZ1000 and scavenge the engine/gearbox to replace the lawn mower engine. But it's a cool bit of backyard engineering!

    Nice work! I really enjoy seeing what can be done with scrap :-). The performance you have on only a few horsepower is impressive too. I'm into dirt gocarts, so if you take your three wheel out onto some dirt roads make sure you post a video. Cheers from Melbourne Australia, Max

    if i had that, i would put 2 lights in the front, amber turn signals, 1 high mount brake lights.mount for camera.. a cover for the motor and rear parts to make it look real cool and protect against rain... motor cycle windshield for bugs..man that thing is so cool! oh and a 12v lighter sockets.

    In some states you can register a vehicle like that as a motorcycle. I bet that thing would turn better than 90 miles per gallon and fun as well.
    I actually have a similar design that I have started. I'm using a 35hp 340cc air cooled snowmobile motor so I plan on using a two speed transmission with reverse connected to the belt drive CVT that the snowmobile already has. I'm hoping my two seat tandem design will have a 90mph top speed and average 65 miles per gallon. I'm also going for a ww2/post apocalyptic mix for looks. So naturally I love your machine.

      Diesel Ramcharger To each his own

    • @evilcowboy
      @evilcowboy 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Diesel Ramcharger
      This would be called design engineering. He didn't build or design the engine or tranny but he did design his personal 3 wheeler. His would be considered and alpha prototype and is functional.
      Now although there are companies who have 3 wheelers already they didn't make or design this one. Saying this is not design engineering would be the same as saying GM didn't engineer their cars since the concept of the car was invented years before. I still think the refer to the people who build and design cars that GM or any other company makes as engineering.
      The word engineering covers a broad spectrum of engineering but what he has done here would be considered one aspect of engineering and thus Lil doggy is right in calling it that. Almost anything created has some degree of engineering in it as long as it is not a carbon copy of something else. Then it's just stealing someone elses intellectual property and their design.
      But yeah this guy did engineer the vehicles design.

    • @LilDoggy
      @LilDoggy 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any real engineer know theres only so much you can learn from paper. Maybe an asshat would slap someone for that, but not a learned person with an appreciation for the finer art of garage fabrication.

    • @evilcowboy
      @evilcowboy 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Diesel Ramcharger Well with that finite mindset........I am actually speechless at the stupidity of your comment.
      Ok you wanna talk engineering then lets talk real facts.
      Henry Ford
      The Wright Brothers
      William Harley
      James Puckle
      Thomas Edison
      And many many many many more people all designed and engineer failed products.
      Oh yeah remember the engineering marvel of the Challenger. According to you thats the best a space shuttle engineer can do so all of them should just give up.
      failed attempts in engineering is an important step. One you have failed to acknowledge.
      Second how the fuck do you know thats the best he can do? Are you his dad? Do you live with him? Are you and kind of influence in his life? No. So you have absolutely no idea of his intentions with this. How the fuck do you know it is his end product.
      Also you just shot yourself in the foot with the whole "Welder, fabricator and general redneck metal worker" Calling yourself a redneck metal worker is saying that you do not have any ambition to be a professional one so its just "good enough" and no need for any further education. REDNECK is NOT a profession.
      Knocking what he did here just points to insecurities in your own ability to be able to do what he has done. I mean where the hell is your pristine 3 wheel invention that looks like a professionally manufactured product? Oh don't have one??? Yeah then shut the fuck up.
      Oh and just in case you didn't know which is pretty fucking obvious you don't here is the definition of an engineer.
      a person who designs, builds, or maintains engines, machines, or public works
      Now tell me exactly how he hasn't done that? Yeah thought so asshole.

    You wont need a alt to keep up if you use a LED headlight, just use the trickle charging system on the engine, You could also use a starter-generater, It starts the motor belt driven and when you stop using start mode it spins and charges the battery, I know this vid is old but you still might use a idea or two

    Good job on getting the Ackerman geometry correct on the front wheel steering, but, dude, you have to learn the difference between springs and shocks...Springs support the weight and shocks prevent excessive "movement" in the suspension. Those gas "shock" thingys are only springs, you have double springs on your suspension parts.

  • @mdcbert
    @mdcbert 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The belt-clutch is a nice simple clutching method, used in garden tractors, the alternator is a little overkill for only one light, but I guess you may have had one already and an engine with built-in stator coil would have cost too much. Why did you not make the rear wheel the same size as the fronts? you could have had smaller brake parts and a smaller drive sprocket, making the cost less for the components.
