Hi John, thanks for wrapping this up so nicely. We recently configured the hybrid Azure AD join. The reason we went for it over Azure AD join, is that we still rely on group policies. As you mentioned at the end, hybrid will help is with transition to Intune.
Well, so pending means that AD connect has added the device to AzureAD but the computer has not yet authenticated to AzureAD. Thanks for the clarification.

That is the primary decision maker. If its corp owned then AAD Join it.
