Best recone idea no glues needed
i love the fact that you can convert the 4 ohms to a 2 ohm woofer, and back as you wish, and the fact that it only takes a couple minutes, awesome subs, would buy again, but i wont have to thanks to this awesome feature

I have a single 15" Orion HCCA box 1" thick all the way around. It was a well custom made box, it also has a holder for to hold the huge HCCA magnet. $200 plus shipping.
Super easy recone guys. It really doesn't get much harder than this. I may be rebuilding with Orion soon lol
I have a 12 that is blown! But the voice coil ripped off and is stuck inside the magnet

i sold all my Orion hcca stuff when i couldnt buy any recones few yrs ago..Pissed me right off had 4 15s 2-10s n was prolly 1st person n mi almost 8-10yrs ago to have these beasts.i had the grey cones n then they came out with blk cones n said they where special ed n costed more..Got my 10s for 300 shipped to my door..Long time ago..Buying a 11k or 17k n few days to run on new set up

I really want one of these, the 15 inch version. The only real problem is that I'm not sure a box big enough for it would fit in the boot of an e46 3 series.

Wait so there’s no way to kill this subwoofer ? I saw someone selling on used that said it needs a rebuild but was skeptical. The magnet motor part nothing ever goes bad ? Just the cone and coils are the wear items here ?

I blew my HCCAs up and it only to 25 min to recone each one and I didn't know anything about reconing
hahahaha actually is pretty easy, i used the 10 inch because that's actually the one with less space to use your hands to put the pins inside the coil, but on the 15" it will be a lot easier!

Does the pins go inside the coil or around the coil ? As in the coil in the middle ?
they go inside the coil; because if you put them outside the coil then you will scratch it.

Why can't these subs be mounted horizontally/forward facing? I have a single cab truck that I really want to use one of these in.
they can be mounted anyway the only thing is to make sure is well mounted so it wont move during driving; and when mounted facing forward is always good to put a little support under the magnet.
It's just a weight issue I think. I have mine inverted facing forward in the back seat of my gmc hd2500. So the weight of that massive motor is really putting a lot of force on the bolts holding the woofer to the enclosure and it's just fine. I did however use ratchet straps and a bottle jack to stabilize everything. Going strong for over a year. I do have to recone though unfortunately.

Hi if its the silver cone (like aluminum) which uses the same basket, then yes you can recone them using the new ones.
