It's so sad that they never made a remake of this, or anything related to this story. If I would have the money, I would definitely make a movie series based on this story or something. Oni was my first game. My older cousin gifted it to me when I got a PC in 2003. I replayed it today, it's scary how I still remember every secret pick up and enemies locations. You can really tell that my parents didn't buy me anything other than educational games for over a year after that.
I know that the little girl was just a robot, but I still could not believe how traumatic it was what happened to her (both by the terrorists and the police force) Almost had a nightmare about it .

That game messed with my handling of FPS games. Every other game means mouse up = view up. This game was mouse up = camera up. And it took a minute each time to get used to it again. I still enjoyed the game.

Quite likely. Both games released the same year. Note the console "shimmering" sound effect is the same as on the Covenant ships and the explosion sound effect is the same as the sniper rifle in Halo as well.
