Quite a tragic and depprissing game but a memrible and amazing one. I still remember every thing about this game 17 years later. A teen version of ghost in the shell. Let us hope with this wave of reboots and remixes of games, this game can Be seen by all once more.
One of my favorite games ever. I played this when I was 6 or 7. Didn't understand a word, but still remember I almost cried when Shinatama died. It's so sad that they never made a remake of this, or anything related to this story. If I would have the money, I would definitely make a movie series based on this story or something. Nice atmosphere, great and tragic story, remarkable characters. This game and this story is a forgotten masterpiece.
1:20:17 Muro: I have accomplished every thing that our father dreamed of doing! Konoko: He dreamed of life. All you know is death! What a scenario, what a wonderful game, one of the best games that I did ever after about 20 years, thanks for sharing this ...
I know that the little girl was just a robot, but I still could not believe how traumatic it was what happened to her (both by the terrorists and the police force) Almost had a nightmare about it .
Oni was my first game. My older cousin gifted it to me when I got a PC in 2003. I replayed it today, it's scary how I still remember every secret pick up and enemies locations. You can really tell that my parents didn't buy me anything other than educational games for over a year after that.
Ahh the memories. I used to love playing this game the whole way through constantly. The cheat to change into different characters made it a different experience every time.
Fantastic compilation! I wish I could play this again - such an amazing game, so progressive for the time, and with great voice acting. Lots of feels in this game, which wasn't typical at the time, and of course the soundtrack - I still listen to it to this day, excellent music. Loved this walk down memory lane.
This game was my favorite game when I was a kid, Oni was my wifu before wifus were a thing. Currently working on an Oni build is Cyberpunk 2077. Thank you a thousand times for uploading this.
I wish Cyberpunk 2077 had crazy mod capabilities, it'd be perfect. And lol Konoko is definitely waifu material, especially as a tomboy like Revy from Black Lagoon or Kaori from City Hunter
@@Nrals u sure right man, it's was so long time ago I forgot the name! After literal years of research I found it, thanks for being one of the rare people who actually took their time to upload this *MASTERPIECE*
One of the first games of my childhood we used to play it on PC with my father.... What a wholesome memories and game it self plus one of the hardest ever i ecountered, thank you for giving me this memorie back.
That game messed with my handling of FPS games. Every other game means mouse up = view up. This game was mouse up = camera up. And it took a minute each time to get used to it again. I still enjoyed the game.
The real question is "Who is gonna remake it?". I mean Bungie doesnt have Oni's rights anymore. Take2 has it but they don't seem like they wanna make an Oni game.
I played this game when I was way too young to fully understand it but many things hit me hard and I gotta say: I'm pround that I could manage to experience this masterpiece.
nice. I played this game localised for my country, and I don't remember Muro turning into a monster in the end. but there were a couple of accomplices with him
Oh this is my childhood memories......I don't know u guys know it or not, if u not kill Griffin the end of story will be different,Muro wont be that monster in the end and Griffin will come help u fight him
Whoa, what a backflash. And from what i remember a very strange and good game until it crashed permanently (Mac OS). :D It was like Virtua Fighter with a nice atmosphere and story. Control´s shooting must have been conceived there. Something like this needs to come back. Is this still Bungie´s property? Shooting akin to Control, Fighting like Virtua Fighter and almost a half life like mood - ONI.
No coincidence that the game is called Oni....and that the character has a neuralink connection to a guide.... Definitely an Oni.... but we're Alchemists... That being said... the amount of combos here should be applied to console games for first and 3rd person pvp where you can move around as well...the games action commands are pretty simple.
Spoiler alert: As an experienced player of Oni, I can tell you one thing: if you spare your mentor, you'll make up his mind and have the last fight be easier, as Muro won't mutate fully and you'll get 3-4 NPCs, one of which with a stun gun, helping you during the fight. First time I was angry at him, as a child, I shot him dead after all he did to our best friend and us. Next runs I spared him, as nothing would have changed what was coming next. Little did I know... deep down, he truly was a father...

I read your comment before watching the video and remembered the sound precisely after 15+ years
Konoko has the TCTF issued horseshoe boots.

This is by far my favourite game ever. Gameplay wise Oni was way ahead of its time when it came out. Thanks for this video!

There was a sequel in the works that seems to have been dropped, one day...
@@Native_Creation I heard of it too.
*"Ghost in the Shell"* has like... _NOTHING_ to do with Oni, except that they are both in the visual style of Anime... -_-
@@kurzackdPretty sure Oni is directly inspired by it, though.
Fuck reboots I’m so tired of them they always usually end up just trashing the series anyways. We need new, creative IPs like Oni again. Not reboots
This is the ultimate nostalgia for me got I used to love this game
miss my childhood ,when we playing this game at my friends house
me 2

the most badass quote to hear as a child playing this game to this day lol

The part at the end where she says "Kill me Konoko, please." chills me everytime. She has suffered a lot.

They need to make Oni 2.
2? I only remember their being one.
Absolutely..
yep, just imagine how beatiful could be
Who needs ONI parti Two when part one is already enough to remind us how dangerous air pollution that was created by human beings.
Turns out they were working on one, but it was canceled pretty early on: th-cam.com/video/ZItobLIJJMY/w-d-xo.html
30:02 The NPC talking through the mask and having a muffled voice is such a nice touch that I feel like most modern games would omit.
There's just something about the music at this point 41:32 that makes the nostalgia feel so strong
Halo music 😄
I love Amanda Winn Lee’s voice!😍😍
Don’t you dare say that to a lady
Muro: Your potential is almost as great as mine

Yeah, it's so underrated :(

This franchise needs a reboot.
God, I miss early 2000s voice acting.
But why though? What's wrong with today's voice acting?
