IMO 3's biggest flaw is the translation lol. The story made no sense because of it. Game has a more balanced difficulty compared to 2 and specially compared to 1. Some people didn't like that because "the game felt easier"

When it arrived, I ordered another game before playing it, and kept that as a rule going forward. It's pretty fun to do, averages to 10 bucks a week, and every Friday night I'd have my retro gaming buddy over to determine what to order next and play the one that arrived that week. I highly recommend it. While I'm starting to run out of meaningful games I look forward to receiving (did SNES too), it's been a real blast and I regularly host retro gaming parties, everyone loves them! Nothing beats the joy of seeing someone going through your collection going "WOAH! I remember that one!! Can we play it?"
Luis Guevara It is very hard and expensive to find the original NES console in my country . If I could have that collection I would be so happy and forget all about my troubles :(

The first and only generation of NJ I played. It really shocked me a lot when I first played it. Kinda horrifying images and scenarios and difficult gameplay were the hardest aspects to me but also the most fascinating parts!
Reasons why the Japanese version is easier: *you take half the damage *you have unlimited Continues *you have a Password system *you restart at the latest part of a section of a stage, instead of at the last section; for example, if you die at 3-2D in the American version then you are thrown back to 3-2A, but in the Japanese version you restart at the beginning off 3-2D instead
The hardest part in Ninja Gaiden is probably that part on 6-2 with the eagle and the enemy on the tiny platform that you need to cross. I have discovered that you can actually just simply run to the edge of the long platform and duck, and this will make you dodge the incoming eagle. Then you can either throw a shuriken on the enemy on the tiny platform or time a jump-attack properly in order to pass that. :D But obviously, the easiest way to get past that section is to constantly use Jump & Slash, but you may not survive all the way from the very beginning of 6-1 in one go, so that's nothing that you should count on every time.
Laurelindo but the triple Boss gauntlet is way harder because if you lose to any of the bosses in the triple boss gauntlet you have to start all over from 6-1.
Giordan Diodato I am wrong? You know, that is an opinion? MY OPINION? The game in USA was harder but that doesnt make the game terrible; if you dont are good enough dont play it.
6:27 Those drums samples, oh man. Still my favorite BGM in this game. 15:24 Aaaand #2... Listen to the SNES version of this one...it's somehow better. (there are maybe 2 songs I'll give the SNES version a nod to. NG2 2-1 is the other.)

One thing I found interesting about this box art cover was that all 3 Gaidens had him in front of a city, yet this is the only installment where he was never in the city. he starts off in the laboratory, as opposed to starting off in the city in the others.
All of the tracks in this game had a more serious feel than the first two. Some were borderline melancholy, which I thinks helped add to the nature of the story. Ryu just seemed more mature in this one. A lot of people didn't like this installment, but I loved it. Plus it was just extra hard for no reason which I loved the challenge.
I've been a huge Ninja Gaiden fan since back in the early 90's but I never got to play Ninja Gaiden 3 because it was not released in Europe. But since I got my import copy I've grown to love it just as much as the first two even without any nostalgia attached. My favorite song in the game is without a doubt 4-1 (13:22) it might even be my second favorite in the series next to the legendary 4-2 from the original.
My favorite tracks are the "2-2 the lava tunnels" as beat that get ya pumped up for the heat underground. and i love the " Inverted catwalk" stage 4-1 as well that track was so good they used it on the the gameboy ninja gaiden shadow which was released at the end of 1991 but there all good tracks hands down!! :-)

the stage themes for this game are fine (arguably nothing too special), but the cinematic specific themes are out of this world good. easily better than what 1 and 2 had on tap.
Now don't get me wrong, I love NG3, but...is it just me, or is the artwork for this one not up to the same caliber as the other two games? Maybe the weird forced perspective of Ryu's sword/arm is the culprit.
I just found that out too, so the events of all 3 games take place within one year after all then. After the intro in NG2, it says "one year after the battle with Jaquio".

Level 1-1 music is still my favorite, you start the game and it throws you in to the action immediately with a badass fast paced theme.
One of the most climatic games ever, some times an action movie, some times a medieval movie, many great memories
