Every year or so I like to watch (or read) someone explaining this trick so I can remind myself that I am apparently incapable of following instructions for doing magic tricks. If I really want to feel completely useless I look at those videos explaining how to do the classic pass.
The key to the pass is _don’t_ try to do it fast. Make speed part of your practice for sure but once you have the packets passing each other with ease you’ll do better focusing on angles and misdirection for performance. Good luck!
I'm playing this at .25 speed. I still don't see how it works. Topologically, we have two linked rings (left-fingers and band-1; right-fingers and band-2), they may not pass through each other, one anchor point (thumb) remains intact, and the other simply transfers to another finger on a contiguous part of the ring.
You have truly mastered this. Awesome... It seems that you can't do this in a crowded bar with a bunch of people all around you since someone will be seeing this from an angle where they can see the trickery going on in your palm and you are not hiding the finger switch
Thanks Jim. The first time I see this trick is when David Copperfield done it years ago. Of all his magic, the rubber band is the one that I want to know how he done it - but I can't figure out, until now.
Excellent explanation. I´ve loved this trick for years. I first saw it performed by Paul Daniels and thought it had to be the finest impromptu trick ever.
HI,,,CN U PLZ TELL ME HOW MANY TIME I NEED TO PRACTIS IT??I HAV LEARNED DIS TRCIK FROM VIDEO BUT NOT GAINED SPEED AS U SHOW "HORRBLIE MODE" OF DT TRCIK,,PLZ GUIDE ME......I M RIGHT HANDED

Thank You so much for this video, I looked all over the internet and still couldn't understand it, then you popped up and now I can finally impress my friends :)
great. It took me over an hour until it worked without rubber bands flying around the room. I bought a kilo-pack too. thanks for the explanation with not pushing them tigether once they are separated - I always did that, and it actually looked stupid!
this trick seems like it would still look better POV rather than a spectator. could u post a vid of a spectators view so we can see how it would appear to an audience, but still up close like this plz
