I have the DeWalt inflator that I bought in December 2018, and today, 4 November 2024 (nearly 6 years later) the compressor went Tango-Uniform as I was trying to inflate my truck tire from 33 to 38 psi. It powers on, and the air mattress inflator side still works, the flashlight works, but the compressor side is a no go. It just makes a sound like a fan is running inside. I shook it and can hear parts rattling around inside where parts aren't supposed to rattle. I guess 6 years is a good long life for one of these things.
Once again, you folks spotlight tools I wouldn’t normally think about. I’ve got the little trigger-operated version of the RYOBI inflator- it works ok, but takes forever. If the bigger version works with the 18 volt batteries, that might be worth looking into. Cheers!
If it screws on like the stock ends it should work. Everything we've seen on both pumps is pretty standard, so it should be possible to find other attachments that work.
That was a really good review process. I have BOTH batteries. I had the chance to use the Dewalt on my 3/4 ton E load tires. I filled all 4 with a needed 4-6 pounds each tire due to the winter effect on tire pressures.. or my neglect to watch the TPMS warnings on the dash. I am buying the DeWalt as I have those batteries times 10 of RYOBI batteries. haha.. thanks
How can both the ryobi and the dewalt inflate the flamingo at the same exact speed down to the mili second? Especially after it had shown it was faster with the other items it inflated? Could it have been a typo?
I can buy two Ryobis for the price of the DeWalt. Hmmm is the DeWalt worth it. Only plus is the power cable to the lighter but I have had bad luck with blown fuses in the past but on cheapo inflaters.
Awesome review! I know that must be loaner products but the only thing that would do this review incredible perfect is a tear down, to see the quality of the pump (if is metal or plastic, etc). I'm DeWalt fan but this pump is something that I would use once or twice a year, the Ryobi would do just fine. BUT, I already have lot of dewalts batteries, and zero Ryobi. making it, in a way, more expensive
Nope, we own both of these. We use DeWalt in one shop and Ryobi in the other, so that gives us the opportunity to really use both. A tear-down would be interesting. Maybe we'll get a chance to do that next time we do a tool review. But both of these pumps work great!
That's the risk of third party parts. Sometimes they are great, sometimes they aren't. But we use original batteries for all of our stuff. It's just easier to source that way.

You are welcome! And thanks for your support!!!
The best battery powered inflator is the one you find in the clearance aisle! I love my Hart inflator.
Fantastic balance of comedy and information. Love it!
Much appreciated!

It's definitely a great tool. We thought it would be a nice-to-have thing but we've used it like crazy the whole time we've had it.
Omg, you guys are hilarious. "1st step if inflating a tire, is having a tire" had me rolling.
Thanks! She talks just like that in real life too!
Can you attach an aftermarket nozzle instead of using the screw-on end?

Ryobi has come out with a new model that replaces the one you have. Model PCL031B

Agreed. I went with the version that uses the battery universe I already have.

Hmmm. Definitely a typo. The DeWalt was a bit faster in the test.
That was a fun review, thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Can I use the 2ah batteries that I have already? I'm only using it to inflate car tires a few psi.
You sure can. I use mine for that all the time and haven't had any problems.
I like these 👍 i have a bauer but ill definitely get another one

The Ryobi is discontinued, no parts. Smoked the board in mine inflating a truck tire.
Came for knowledge, left with a smile. =D
Cool review 😎 thanks!
Thanks for watching!
you guys doing okay? havent seen yall upload in a bit! :)
We're still here! Darth Real Life made us focus on non-TH-cam things, but we're still doing stuff. We'll be back in the new year with some new videos!
The way this woman talks has me dying 🤣 i love it, subscribed!
She talks just like that in real life too!
This is awesome!
There were tests just done on this aftermarket Ryobi battery showing the performance as like 1/3 as a original Ryobi battery!

Ryobi is cheaper less than half of the price of DEWALT so little bit of inflation speed really doesnt matter.
99 bucks gets you 2 - 4.0 ryobi batteries and charger and - wait for it free air compressor. a tale of my purchase
Nice!
2, 4 .0 batteries and charger for 39.99 if you use the hack of returning the freee tool
Got dewalt
Good choice!
I am heavily vested in dewalt so for me it makes no sense to buy another brand
She is hilarious! ❤
hahahhahahahahha im dead!
actually, the dewalt technically has 3 power sources - the battery, the cigarette lighter, and an optional standard wall cord could also be used.
Very true and good point! We decided to just discuss the out-of-the-box options, but wall power is definitely available for the DeWalt.
