75for75 Grant Recipient: Westinghouse Football

The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation surprised the varsity football team at Westinghouse Academy in Homewood, PA with the their first 75for75 Sports Matter Grant. In celebration of DICK’S Sporting Goods’ 75th anniversary, The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation is giving 75 deserving youth sports organizations across the country a $75,000 Sports Matter grant to continue changing lives through sport.

I respect that Dick's chose this content as one of their commercials. However, each time I see it. I can't help but think. l would have loved to see it go against the expectation and all the players, including the coach, would've had sharp haircuts. Image is absolutely pinnacle when it comes to black men. We're not even playing checkers, but instead Spades, in a world playing Chess. The youth and other demographics are preparing to run the world and our youth is preparing to entertain them.
