Great Reaction, I love your energy, Thank You! She is Amazing ! She has suffered a battle with Cancer at 20 years old , right when she got Married! It left her unable to bear children and also with Hep.B , after a transfusion! It has weakened her immune system and she has Chronic Pneumonia, which she has had at least 7 times ! If you watch one of her many Great Performances, she was still suffering from some effects of Pneumonia and told by her Doctor not to sing, her reply was that there are people expecting me to sing and maybe I can ease someone suffering through music, so She sang , on of her most Popular Performances! She also has turned down 3 Major Record Contracts! Why because , Jesus told her she was ready to handle it yet and because she would not be able to commit to many of her Church concerts and Charity Events! So much more , to me she is even a better Human-being then she is a Singer! As you she that is saying a lot! Also she arranges all her Performances! Vocal monster. Her soft head voice is the most angelic thing I have ever heard. That first high note she went to was a G5 and she did a pitch perfect flip down and back. Yikes! Notice on her top down runs she goes head to mixed to chest with no break and makes it sound easy. That is very hard to do most singers only do runs in one voice type. If you want to hear the most beautiful vibrato you ever heard check out Amazing Grace. In studio minimal backing. The last phrase in Amazing Grace was one breath..... 16 seconds. Yeah I had to go back and pull out my stop watch function on my phone :-)

Arirang Alone is about the split and hope for unification between North and South Korea. Its very patriotic, its consider the unofficial national anthem. Sohyang was asked to sing it again just recently on King Singer. It is a great honour to be asked to sing it. The songwriter had their family split apart some in the North and some in the South. Very emotional.

So Hyang at 20-21 years old had ovarian and uterine cancer. She beat it and became a devout Christian. In beating cancer through bad needles she got Hepatitis B and still suffers from periodic pneumonia. She does not sing for money or fame. She sings solely for the heart, soul, and comfort of the people. Her husband is a musician and supports her. SONY has tried to sign her for over 16 years and she will not sign. She sang "YOU RAISED ME UP" while having pneumonia!!! Dr. said no high notes. So much for that!! Yes born in March of '78!!! Lean on Me would be another epic one to do. Misty from the Begin Again concert is something different and as epic(all soft no belting but it's like, what the). This is a traditional folk song that most recently has been used to represent the dream of unification of the Koreas and this arrangement was composed by So Hyang and her husband to take advantage of her ridiculous range and breath control. So Hyang at 20-21 years old had ovarian and uterine cancer. She beat it and became a devout Christian. In beating cancer through bad needles she got Hepatitis B and still suffers from periodic pneumonia. She does not sing for money or fame. She sings solely for the heart, soul, and comfort of the people. Her husband is a musician and supports her. SONY has tried to sign her for over 16 years and she will not sign. She sang "YOU RAISED ME UP" while having pneumonia!!! Dr. said no high notes. So much for that!! Yes born in March of '78!!! Please do You Raised Me Up and see the entire angelic stage performance and her. She is trULY an "EARTH ANGEL"!! See what she does to Whitney's I Have Nothing and Lean On Me with Michael Bolton watching her!!

Lean on Me would be another epic one to do. Misty from the Begin Again concert is something different and as epic(all soft no belting but it's like, what the). I will always love you, I have nothing, Oh holy night(black and purple dress one), Mona Lisa. All those are must sees. Where are you is another. Get the one without the interviews cut into it though. They are all kind of just as impressive. I love her singing "Home" as well. Imagine if you stopped without ever finding this one you did here. That's kind of the deal if you skip about any of those and there's a number of others.

As people have said, Sohyang is a cancer survivor and she contracted hepatitis through treatment and she is prone to pneumonia so you need to be careful what clips you use. Vimeo is better than TH-cam clips. The quality tends to be better and most of her Korean songs have English sub titles.
Sohyang has performances from I Am a Singer, immortal Songs 2, King of mask Singer, Begin Again Korea, stage plays, duets from various shows including IS2, Kdrama's and some of her own songs, gospel and CCM songs- she is first and foremost a CCM/gospel singer who sings for God and to bring comfort and joy to people.
She just did the official song for the Seoul Summit to be held in Korea, that came out yesterday or the day before and I am loving that.

Dear Schnell your reactions are very amazing but also technical and for that you are one of my favourite reacter. You react singer from all over the world but there is a very young singer in Toronto that last year is arrived to the final of AGT, her name is Roberta Battaglia (10 yo) she sang "Shallow" in the audition and take Golden Buzzer. This is a traditional folk song that most recently has been used to represent the dream of unification
of the Koreas and this arrangement was composed by So Hyang and her husband to take advantage of
her ridiculous range and breath control. You will discover her entire catalog is amazing, her
background is Contemporary Christian Music/Gospel and she's stated many times that her primary
mission is to comfort people rather than pursue traditional fame/recording deals etc.
She has several other songs from the same series available to review and they are all pretty
