Thank you, this is a solid and concise take on important fundamentals. I've spent the past few weeks designing a diet that emphasizes balance and a variety of nutrients, foods, and food groups. It's been enlightening to just put in the work (totally nerding out, spreadsheets and all) and see what it takes to design a diet that keeps all essentials between RDA and UL while emphasizing whole and minimally processed foods while also being low-PRAL, maintaining a beneficial Omega 3 to 6 ratio, providing plenty of antioxidants, minimizing calories, respecting the macro as well as SFA:MUFA;PUFA ratios etc. Good nutrition is a great challenge, and important work.
🤔……you have a lot of confidence in the “RDA”? I realize that I could be wrong about this (and researching the history of the development of the “RDA” has been surprisingly difficult) -.but from what I have learned so far, our present day “RDA” was hastily put together by 3 doctors back in the early 1940’s primarily for the United States military. It has never been reviewed or revised since. If I am correct, it seems that with our improved knowledge of nutrition over the past 80 years, the ancient RDA we still reference is WAY OUT OF DATE, and should be critically reviewed and revised. Please correct me if I have this history of the development of the RDA incorrect. I am open to finding out the truth in this matter. But if I am correct…..would you not agree that an 80 year old nutritional guideline should perhaps be re-evaluated?…..and perhaps revised?
my doctors literally couldnt explain it as good as u did, thanks
