  • In this video I briefly explain the radial 4 frame honey extractor that I built. I will likely make an update video during our first use of it. Below you will find a list of links for the main materials that are used. Much of the hardware, like the all-thread that is used as the shaft, can vary in size. I used 3/8" as it seemed to be sturdy enough and still allowed for my corded drill to attach to it.
12”x12”x.25” UHMW (white plastic material like what is used for cutting boards) www.amazon.com...
Rubbermaid Brute 32 gallon trashcan www.amazon.com...
    Honey Gate www.amazon.com...
Obviously do your own research for best pricing on the above listed items. Feel free to comment below with any questions.

Brilliant design. Only thing i would of done different would be to use roller blade bearings at the top and bottom of the spindle.

I would go for spinning 8 frames.... that's awesome!

I think the frame holders could be made from a hard wood also , it’s a great idea, if it works to your liking that’s all that matters. 👍

The solid top and bottom plastic kind of solves my questions about how to hold frames. I only have two hives, and only the older one has honey supers so I may only have 10 frames to spin. I might invert one 5 gallon pail on another and cut holes in the top to insert frames into a spinner like yours. I will have to think about it. J.

Did it work well? Any balance issues?

Yes it actually works pretty well. With how light it is there are some balance issues at first until the frames start to empty out.
