Some of my previous attempts included a 20m stat Izuna with no evilities nor equipment of note (except Revenge Booster R40) to CD the final boss, and it worked fine. The units are severely overkill for this category. Prior to deciding to throw Christo on 4-5 my choice of generic Asagi actually messed up some attempts because they decided to randomly have the Prinny unique evility. After I did this run though it was pointed out that Metallia could safely capture that map, so if I redid the run I wouldn't need to throw anyway.

There are some less-than-obvious things that go into it, but you're not exactly wrong. This is the least interesting speedrun category for this game.
Yeah, this NG+ Speedrun is BORING MOSTLY compared to Disgaea 1 sadly.
