Jimmy, I would love to sit down with you and tell you my connection with this song. It is a song I claimed for my beautiful wife in sept. of 1984 after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went through the big surgery, the recovery and she is my wife now for 54 years. It is quite a story but I know mine isn't the only one out there. I'm sure there are thousands of stories related to cancer. I would just love to sit down with you one day and tell you my story. God is good and I give him all the glory. This song was born out of tragedy and in some part is how i relate to it. God bless the man that wrote this song. It has been a blessing for so many.
I too hold this song in my heart. I recovered from breast cancer in 1998. Every day I prayed, “ Lord just help me get through today.” My surgeon was a Christian and they prayed over me before the surgery. My minister was with me as well. I was so blessed.

My late husband used to say that no matter what we have,or accomplished in life,nothing matters apart from,Is it well with my soul.
