There's a slight chance you have to check with a counter person to get the bottle. They may of removed them intentionally.

So my fiancé has been working for mainline nordstroms and rack nordstroms for over 4-5 ish years now. She always tells me about how often they get robbed and how they literally cannot do anything about it and that most of the time nothing ever comes of it. Even if they see the person BLATANTLY stealing, they’re not allowed to touch them or stop them or anything. So yeah it’s very common for people to just walk in, take something, and leave. 🤷🏻♂️
Absolutely true! Store policies are observe take notes ! Do not impede suspected shoplifter! Had same policy at place I worked,they technically could fire you if you broke that policy.
I asked a store clerk at Walgreens about the theft there and she said the store has insurance, so they don't care about the stealing.😮😢
They're gonna go like Walmart and put it all behind glass. Crime makes everything less fun.
Same thing happened to me with a Missoni Pour Homme gift set for $25 and at the same store. Matter fact it was in a locked cabinet. Fortunately for me that I asked the cashier to check the box before I bought a shower gel for $25!

Nordstrom Rack can have some good pickups. Saw a 5 oz bottle of spicebomb night vision EDT or EDP (don't remember which) for like 65-70 bucks there a few months ago. Mine is normally pretty dry so it was interesting seeing that there
You can't even touch a box out here. They have everything locked AND inside of a giant locked display case. Have to have a clerk open the case. Which sucks because they have to stand there with you while you look at prices, check prices against discounts online, batch codes.
Hugo boss in motion was one of the first fragrances I bought in an airport duty-free. It was in the silver sphere, and I absolutely loved it.

Yeah at Nordstrom rack here in Tulsa, Oklahoma that I shop ,I see gift sets that are missing the full size bottle of cologne! Here there just on a display rack next the clothing rooms,I watched video had coffee during decided to go to store ,there was a gift set that had plastic torn full size bottle was missing,nothing locked up or device tag there on cologne's so yeah par for the course!!!,and yes store policies on theft are observe and take notes do not impede in way shape or form of suspected shoplifter,they actually fire you if you break policy! I worked retail same policy applied!
It could be because Gift Sets usually aren't safety-locked or wrapped up to prevent theft, large stores with blocked visibility (bunch of racks and obsticals) remove the actual content (same applies with some razors. You get the actual content at the counter or information point.
I had my hopes up twice this month when I saw a jpg can and a can of blue jeans in Burlington, both were empty. 😢😂

Problem is, sometimes their prices aren’t great. I don’t mind paying a bit extra for finding something “in the wild..”
But they can be very high at times..

I like to check out what's in the gift boxes and people who steal spoil that because sometimes the bottle might have a cool design and you want to look at it....I can see why marshalls locks them up.

Unfortunately the laws have incentivized thieves to steal with impunity. They can walk out of a store with up to $995 worth of merchandise and only get a citation if they are even caught. Security just stands by and watch with their phone’s video capturing the act. So many stores have moved out of the city and who can blame them.
The other Nordstrom Rack scam I see all the time is old beat to hell shoes left in boxes on the rack, so people just are walking out the store with a fresh pair of shoes on SMH.
