I will be replacing bad Hard Drive in DELL Inspiron 17 7779 2in1 with a new 2.5" SATA SSD

i have an inspiron 1720 with problems. i can pay you to help me. it will not even accept a usb bootable drive. will not boot at all. bios sees the hdd but no joy on fixing it myself. help?!

Hi, I have a DELL Inspiron 17" 7786 2-in-1, and first try to CLONE the entire SSD to an external new SSD Sandisk 1TB in a USB DEVICE, with the SupportAssist OS Recovery Disk Cloning, and after 20 min it presented an "UNEXPECTED ERROR". Then I tried to use the Macrium free SSD clone and also I had an failure. I tried with another new Sandisk SSD 500Gb and abd also had failure. Which free SSD clone program did you used?

Dale, I have this exact computer, and I rebuilt it with a 2.5 SSD and a 1 TB SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2 SSD 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe.
