ok but it's funny that the white reporter said he was going to ask the question in his white voice and mans literally sounded exactly like the white voice used in the movie LOL.
Even in this segment and in that article there’s such little class consciousness being encouraged that they’re framing is in terms of race. But the film goes beyond that - the primary criticism is economic and it affects Black, Hispanic, Asian and yes White characters.
GENERAL STRIKE! Boots was on fox in Cleveland years back where he suggested people hold back their labor and strike. That Fox station ended up sending apology letters to all their sponsers lol! I wonder if cbs will do the same.
White dude who loved this film, just bought it. It speaks to all of us creatively. It pokes fun at racism and sensitivity in all directions really; While also shining a light on our personal failing from within that vain and power struggle. The phrase Boots used in one interview was magical realism.
Boots Riley knew what platform he was speaking on, lol. He's a smart man for knowing when and what specific language not to use when communicating to a particular audience.
@@blueoystercultforevs Well, yes but what you could mean by the word socialism is so broad it feels strange to pick bones over it. You could mean a) social democracy b) non-marxian communism (I suppose) c) the transitional stage between capitalism and communism. Boots Riley advocates for the latter.
blueoystercultforevs Boots is a marxist-leninist. He believe’s, as all MLs do, we need a workers revolution to institute socialism as a means to eventually reach communism. If you’re a communist without the socialist bit, you’re an anarchist
“Pointed arguments about the obstacles to black success in America” is not even close to the what the film is about. Race has very little role in the movie, it’s all about class
Yeah world I know boots Riley yep he told me he was coming out with a movie. I'm so proud of my brother. East Oakland yeah that's right we both should be in the real Tupac movie yep I was Tupac's inspiration play your cards right by Alice Myers my best friend is the governor and that is Tupac's best friend they have a song together I have a song with v e l l Qwan 17 rounds CD on TH-cam change his name to vellione get one song with Master P and one song with Keak the sneak
Those reviews are absolutely insane and proof positive that film critics are totally unnecessary evil in society. This movie is complete garbage top to bottom.
I agree with your anger at the system but all that withholding your labor is going to do is make the elite either export jobs or import cheaper labor from other countries better off learning survival skills and heading for the mountains
I saw the movie last night. The movie contradicts itself. And makes the same lame joke over and over again. It would be like if a movie said black people like basketball over and over again. It's not even racist it's just lame. It feels like it was written by a 14 year old.
notice how they stopped the interview when he started talking about socialist idea like the proletariat withholding their labour
It's uncomfortable for them. I'm surprised they even had him as a guest.
ok but it's funny that the white reporter said he was going to ask the question in his white voice and mans literally sounded exactly like the white voice used in the movie LOL.
I just said this out loud before seeing this comment....funny
Lolol
Yes!!!! Exactly like it....had to rewind and listen again!😆
Funny because he still doesn't know the exact context of the "white voice."
@@keeKeeConnolly 💯
Funny to see him talking about this on corporate media. Of course they only introduce him as a musician and not an activist

Bourgeois news media: how dare you speak of strike action Mr.Riley, we banish you.
Seems like they didn't even watch the movie that or they didn't get it at all
playin' it safe, shunning the real questions
GENERAL STRIKE! Boots was on fox in Cleveland years back where he suggested people hold back their labor and strike. That Fox station ended up sending apology letters to all their sponsers lol! I wonder if cbs will do the same.
Yeah right.
Wasn't he part of the hip-hop group the coup
Yep!
I ain't Elmo, i'm Boots from the Coup!

After watching I was absolutely shocked to learn that it was the writer/director’s first film.
The film was phenomenal
It would have been nice to hear the word, "socialism", but also understandable why we did not.
Boots Riley knew what platform he was speaking on, lol. He's a smart man for knowing when and what specific language not to use when communicating to a particular audience.
Boots advocates for communism; there is a difference.
Both are go.

“Yeaaaa-ah!” Lol. Congrats!
Dude look like Kat Williams and Chris Broussard had a baby
Arc A LMAO. For reals.
@Arc A. Don't forget, Jim Kelly, with that Afro & sideburns. He will fit right in with the 70s character in Austin Powes movie. 😁
It's a real voice used on the sales floor.
Why does the video go semi blurry after 10 seconds or is that just my imagination ?
U trippin trippin
I respect you and your work.
Congrats Boots Riley. This is so well deserved!
The lead actress in the movie is 🔥
😑
Love Boots Riley!!
Best Movie i've seen....and ive seen them all
“Pointed arguments about the obstacles to black success in America” is not even close to the what the film is about. Race has very little role in the movie, it’s all about class

You clearly don't know what the white voice means or is. Well, as it's explained in the movie.
See this movie!!!!!
Awesome!
Damn why i cant be successful like that brother.

Boots Riley is the best communist
Do you feel the power of the left philosophy yet? 😊
Those reviews are absolutely insane and proof positive that film critics are totally unnecessary evil in society. This movie is complete garbage top to bottom.
Ebonics is not working y'all.
I guess you haven't been in white neighborhoods everywhere in Appalachia, Kentucky, Tennessee, the South and in Texas.
I agree with your anger at the system but all that withholding your labor is going to do is make the elite either export jobs or import cheaper labor from other countries better off learning survival skills and heading for the mountains
That is why communism strives to be a global movement. Also do you know anything about history and the labor movements?
Strike movements have worked countless times in the past, and jobs are being exported away regardless
More like better off doing what Cassius green does in the final scene of the movie
I'm sorry when I watch the movie Saturday night it started out real good and almost halfway through it and took a left turn 👎
The left turn doesn't come until 20 minutes before the end of the film, you must have slept through an hour of it.
adonis pink It's not too far off from the truth. Workers in this country really aren't paid enough.

Dirg, you're a troll who clearly didn't see this movie.
You haven’t seen this movie lmao
Kinda like you're repeating the same lane post over and over?
