I am 70 years old. For my high school graduation present from my parents in 1972 I asked for a 3 day goose hunt in eagle lake, Altair Texas. It was something I will never forget. We shot speckled bellys, lessers, lots of mallards and pintails. Great memories
Awesome video Cole! I am 24 years old and have grown up in northwest iowa my whole life and have been a waterfowl hunter since around middle school. Watching these pond hunts gives me a bit of nostalgia. In northwest iowa we are very privileged with getting the migration that we do! The past 2 years I have started to really get into field hunting but when I was younger I remember some very tiring hunts dragging out dozens of Texas rigs through the woods and CRP grounds just to get to a little pond! Keep up the good content and would love to see you come to Iowa sometime during mid/late season this year!
All your videos are awesome. I always look forward to your new videos. Don’t change your style and keep coming to Canada. I think your videos will be great to get more kids into hunting, have fun and still show respect for others. Fantastic!!! I will keep watching your videos and recommending to everyone I can. To all fellow Hunters, Never apologize for being a hunter!!
What up Cole. I watch u guys all the time, along with others but u guys do your thing. I just moved to CDA Idaho 3 years ago. Just out my chocolate lab down 6 years ago. But I’m from Vallejo Cali. So the water out there is marsh mud, sucks but can walk in it. Since here in Idaho, haven’t hunted in 3 years. With draws, lol but no boat no dog it’s lakes here. Can’t get my birds. My wife just surprised me with silver lab I pick up on Sunday. Just got diagnosed with tumor that is cancer, but I’m winning. My 10 year old now we can win when odds are against us. My name is Shep, my son is Ethan, I can’t give shot out to kids to try to get them involved in this great thing we call waterfowl, but I’m all about keeping our future out of trouble. But u can. So keep doing u my guy. Love your hunting style. Maybe give a shot out to Ethan and Shep on one of your videos . We watch everyday. I’m watching now waiting to pick my son up from school. Shoot em in the beek. Shep signing off.
I hunt in Hamlin Texas on our ranch which is abt an hour and a half north west of good ol abilene. I’ve been on a couple field duck/goose hunts there that were absolutely crazy hunts. But at our ranch it’s basically what you said. Ponds, sheet water, anything that holds water and the ducks love it. Favorite TH-camr by far love ya Cole
Awesome video Cole! Minnesota lakes and ponds. Field hunting would have been too expensive for my high school friends, and too hard to gain permission. Wood ducks, teal, and a few divers. Mallards were a trophy. Now I hunt North Dakota. Lots of open land, friendly farmers, and great people. Best hunting in the lower 48! just got back last night. 11 different species of ducks in our 4 person limit. Thanks for the tip on Shotz ammo! I have burned through a couple cases this year so far. Best duck ammo on the market. They are a bit slow now to fill your order. No doubt growing pains.
Im from Illinois and i hunt the Kankakee river for Ducks and geese. 2023 was my first year hunting (by shooting i would just go with my dad before) i got 5 ducks 3 blue winged teal, a male wood duck, and a female mallard. I love your videos
Illinois here. Pretty much exclusively water for ducks. Marshy stuff around the Illinois River. Field hunt geese some, but don’t see that great of numbers. Dry field duck hunt is on my bucket list big time! Love the vids man
I’m 16 years old in Missouri and I’m hunting farm ponds around my hometown for the first time this year and just seen 80 gadwall dumping a couple of them yesterday lol. I started out with a a family duck club at about five years old. Shot my first duck, which was a Hen Spoonie at 8 and I’ve been hooked ever since. Keep up the content!
NC swamps. Started when I was 10 with my dad and still hunt the same swamp today. Ol Remington 1100 with a 24" barrel. Smacked the woodies mostly with others mixed in. I'm 36 now and it's slowed way down. Great video!!
Hi Cole I'm from PA I mainly hunt on ponds or swamps in my area for ducks and geese and field hunt for mainly geese since it's very rare to see ducks in fields around my area we mainly shoot Canada's mallards and wood ducks are the main sometimes get divers on the lakes but I love it our first day is this Saturday the 12th of october so looking forward to oing out with my buddies and my dad for a fun morning shoot
Marshes and Rice Fields in SW Louisiana. Mostly chase Specklebellies, but occasionally get a few invites on duck hunts. Catch it right at the goose lease and we can get a few mallards and pintails on occasion also.
Adirondacks, NY. Probably some of thee toughest ducking hunting in the country. Almost no flyway. Just move from swamp hole to swamp hole shooting what we can. Mostly, wood ducks and mallards.
Up here in Alberta, I just do field hunting. Back in the day, a lot more people hunted wetlands because there were way more sloughs and ponds back then.
East Texas hunting flooded timber and then south east Texas hunting marshland and the bay. Can’t wait for our season to start here the beginning of November
Awesome. Just went through our opening weekend in ne and crushed some mallards and pinnies. Honestly we were covered in pintail all day which makes the 1 bird limit suck
In the late 1980’s early 1990’s living in Oklahoma my brother and I leased 2500 acres in north central Oklahoma we would pheasant hunt and jump ponds for waterfowl. No need to change out lead for steel until early 90’s.
North Wisconsin on a pond , green heads, Canada geese , and mallards , a couple years ago when I was 10 I shot a really nice mallard and my uncle mounted it for me .
We hunted sloughs of red river and peanut fields for ducks and geese here in North Texas we had permission for about 6k acres of peanuts. Soughs were just north of the peanuts fields.
@ColeTownsendThe What choke are you using and what yardage are you patterned for? I stumbled upon this ammunition and I am loving it for upland use as well. I have everything patterned for Upland; however, I want a good starting point for waterfowl since I don't want to waste ammunition. I enjoy watching your videos!
I grew up with field hunts and honkers. The river is like 1300 yards from our house. So we just set up right in the field and wait for them. Killed hundreds. And after our morning hunts we would just drive around and jump shoot ducks in the slews and ponds. Fun times.
I don’t know if it’s me becuse I do a good bit of comp calling I have no trouble getting Canadas back after we shoot at them once and even twice if you ever care to hear my 2 cents on it hmu and I’ll try and get you better at calling then back
