    "Steal from yourself" yeah I keep a reference sheet from my previous art pieces for hands and face angles. If I draw something I really like, I'll trace the basic shapes of it and add it to my reference sheet! I won't just re-use it exactly though, I'll do my rough sketch first then refer to that sheet when refining things and try to change it up a little to avoid same face syndrome etc.

    Little tip about the art glove: They make single-digit art gloves too. I use one for procreate so I can still do three finger gestures without having to use my thumb at an awkward angle.
    Also, making outline brushes in Procreate is very easy once you get the hang of it. The key is combining two brushes. Yes, COMBINING two into ONE brush!

    Yes. You absolutely CAN do that in Photoshop, there should be a layer styles menu that pops up when you double click a layer or in the drop down bar that has the option to stroke your lines.
    It's simpler in Clip Studio Paint but Photoshop has way cooler features for it.

    Hey!! to do the outline thing in Krita that you see around 3:56 !!(for anyone else who needed it bc my art will usually consist of a line surrounding the art)
    *Right click on a layer
    *At the very top, section option, click "layer style"
    *at the very bottom of the new pop up, there should be an option called "stroke"
    *press the square next to the word, and voila!
    i advise already having a line down so you can see what it'll do while you mess around w the settings with the brush :]!

    My tip: use the digital art glove for traditional art too! I do both digital and traditional art, and whenever I’m doing my sketches it smudges a lot. The fabric of the glove doesn’t smudge the pencil as much, especially on material like canvas. Plus, it also makes it more smooth! I know this is a pretty basic tip, and yet I always see people complaining about smudging and not doing anything about it. There is probably a specific glove for traditional art, but if you already have one for digital, might as well use it for both.

    For 4:30 in Photoshop, you can add a stroke to the line. If you want transparent pixels with an outline, you'll have to rasterize the layer and select all the pixels inside it with wand tool and delete them.
    For the people who use Paint tool SAI like me, you can do this by going into Layer > outline to add the stroke, then you can delete the inner pixels by doing Layer > convert luminance to opacity. Note that this only works if the inner stroke colour is white and the outer line is black, because lighter colours (towards white) get deleted and darker colours (towards black) remain

  • @abrilzanassi
    @abrilzanassi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I've been doing the lineart/stroke trick for a long time now. you create a new layer, and on your layer tab you go down to the fx button and select stroke (you can also right click the layer and click blending options to open the same window). the you set it to 1, black, and I use either outside or inside stroke (center looks weird). paint with white and set the layer to multiply and there you have it. I reccommend installing the OLM Smoother plugin (since the lines look kinda jagged). one you're done you raterize the layer style (right click on the layer, raterize layer style) and apply the olm smoother (I use it between 9 and 15 of smooth range)

    Ok so hope I'm not late for it but I can tell you how to make a lineart brush like the one in the video. You can duplicate any brush 2 times, so you'll have the original and 2 copies. You will select the copies and combine them into a dual brush. After that, you change their combine blending mode to difference and then you change the maximum size of one of the brushes to be slightly smaller than the other one. That's it hope I helped!

    It feel nice to here that because I’ve been drawing since I was in 5th grade and now I go to an art school. I feel like a lot with the people around me(specifically the adults) are putting this pressure on me with my art and throw all these ideas. Like they do it because they want to see me succeed but the direction it goes isn’t something I want, as it feel I’m just doing it for sales, not because I enjoy it. I was even told that they felt like they wasted on me and my talent because I was being honest with my feelings and how I don’t want to constantly make new designs on some dumb shirts if I can’t make things that I enjoy for it. Now I feel all burnout and trashy about my art and a whole lotta tmi
    What I’m saying is it feels nice to go back and draw for self enjoyment and not feel forced,

    When I started taking art more seriously, I took all art tips off TikTok and obsorbed them basically. They helped kind of, but when it came to body tutorials those never seem to help in the long run bc they often only show how to draw one specific pose. And most ppl following those guidelines don’t have a feel for them

    The people I listen to are usually those who explain the reason behind the "dos and dont's" so I can choose if it makes sense or not for what I like/want to achieve. I'm just an art baby, but I spent YEARS feeling bad, doubting myself, I would either not draw at all or start second guessing every single stroke I made just because I fell into the trap of "advices" like never do this or never do that, when absolutely everything is relative and tied up to different contexts

  • @Perry_Plays69
    @Perry_Plays69 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    At 9:19 I think it kinda depends on the artist, their style and what they want to achieve-I myself often use highly saturated colors to give a very bright and fantasy-like feel, which can be done without saturated colors but it's just my preference. Ofcourse, that doesnt mean I ONLY use saturated colors for shading and highlights, there are times I go darker in the color wheel. No hate on anyone who'd rather use more middle-toned colors, it just depends on what you're going for.

    3:00 After being on TikTok for a while and not being very productive doing other things because of stress related issues, I DID notice my attention span got a lot shorter really fast! It took quite a bit of work to get it back to normal too.
    I don't have a problem with TikTok but media like this can potentially cause dopamine reward prediction errors and shorten your attention span, which in turn can worsen symptoms of things like anxiety, depression and executive dysfunction.
    This kind of social media is a lot like junk food for your brain; it's a nice treat occasionally but you really should mind the amount you consume.

  • @UniTheAppl
    @UniTheAppl ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I agree with some of these videos being way too chaotic ;-;
    And while I know they're meant to appeal to "adhd kids" they're really only gaining views off self destructive behavior.
    As a person diagnosed with this disorder, staying focused on stuff can be physically impossible without aid (stims, medication, fidgets, etc.), though if a topic is of great interest it can really pull ya into DEEP focus.
    So basically stuff is hard to focus on unless it's fun or interesting to the individual or it's the big flashy loud yelly thing that's pretty much impossible to ignore.
    Now, as I've discussed with friends and mutuals before the healthiest way to live with it is to try to make things that are hard to focus on enjoyable to do, interesting to engage with or simply treat it as a necessary obstacle that one needs to figure out how to get around to get to the fun part (e.g. I can't get myself to learn art theory, so I look for well made videos that are enjoyable to watch, think of fun mini-games and challenges to practice or tell myself stuff like "look, if you put all your thoughts into figuring this thing out you can afterwards enjoy drawing it over and over again with your favorite stuff!")
    Unfortunately that's a more effort requiring attention grabber than just "JDGWJSYDIDGDIDBDDIWGDIDG"
    And even more unfortunate is that sooooo many videos are just made to be quick overstimulating attention grabbers (I've even had a private conco where I asked someone who wanted to be an art content creator why they have to put all those noises and extra overlays and videos and texts on there if they put so much effort into their art and they straight up said it's for the views and that with my condition I "should be the perfect viewer, no?")
    Though just because they grab attention and give views from people like myself doesn't mean that it's due to interest or enjoyment.
    Much rather it's the everything going on, the "we both know you don't care about this bs at all but look at the fun moving colours wheeeeee", which inevitably gathers a viewership of people who don't care about the content creator or even the content, potentially resulting in just a toxic gathering of people who want nothing to do with this content but stayed because it's "HDHWUDGEKETDOEDGDIEHDJF"
    On top of that it's DRAINING as hecc to constantly have that stuff running and can genuinely use up someone's entire body battery to do anything (as if having constantly a duwgdjdillion thoughts simultaneously while barely being able to keep focused as a dozen things around you just banshee screech for your attention and your phone adds another 50 layers of visual and audio stimulation.
    Being under constant ovestimulation can either end in a shutdown or in the buildup in a resistance to it, which however in return may make one feel unbearably understimulated when the overstimulation ceases, causing one to seek out more stimulation aaaaand the rest goes without saying.
    It's just awful really, as it not only potentially worsens the lives of people who already suffered with an inability to stay in one place mentally, but may also have an impact on leading people without the genetic issue to develop similar habits based on basically "audio-visual stimulation addiction"
    (No shade to those creators who have chaotic videos exactly because of this condition, but definitely to those who actively have a negative impact for no reason other than BIG VIEW COUNT HEJDHDJDHDKEDG

    12:23 I hold pencils incorrectly and never really bothered trying to correct it. I hold pencils between my middle finger and ring finger and let the eraser side shoot out under the pointer finger and behind thumb. Because of the way I hold my pencil and the fact I have held it this way my entire life I can actually make curved lines without much movement and even more control! But holding pencils like this for too long dents my ring finger, so sometimes I go off my stylus and just use my fingers while drawing digitally.

    The nose tip its quite good, I use it quite a lot. It helps making sure that where you put the eyes, lips and ears etc, look anatomically correct. I normally do the lines first then more to make the nose, if something doesn't look right then I move the lines. I mean, it works for me but it might not work for everyone.

    For anyone wondering how to have the edge lines like the CSP one heres how you do this in photoshop:
    Create New Layer
    Double click beside the layer name to open blending mode
    Toggle Stroke on, adjust thickness and color to your liking
    Draw on the layer.
    Anything you do on that layer will have the stroke outline. You can change the modes from outside, inside and center if the lines get wonky. You can also use any color you want, it doesnt have to be white.

    So in photoshop, if you double tap the layer that has the lines you want to have the out lines on, it’ll open up a effect option box. In their you can play around with the settings like outer glow, in glow, etc.
