  • At Floor 30 of Infernal Tower, Hermit comes back for revenge… by being mostly the same but wearing a mask this time.
In spite of just being the same thing but with a mask, Masked Grandmaster is a Relic version of Hermit Cat with the same 4,000,000 HP as the original, but with only 10 KBs, 28,888 damage per hit, and a 100% chance to Curse for 5 sec on top of the usual Wave attack.
The main difference between Heavenly Tower Floor 30 and this floor though is the choice of peons. Doge Dark stays, but Ginger Snache is replaced by Sinner Snache and Li’l Bun Bun joins in the fight as well. Doron is the usual option for this stage to keep Hermit under control while Fishman deals with the Li’l Bun Bun, but you can also stack Wave-Immune attackers instead, using Rock as protection. Luring the first Li’l Bun close to your base is a good idea here since that allows you to still use Fishman on it, though you have to be careful to not let Hermit hit your base. The most important unit to stack on this stage though is Teamaster Cat, who is literally designed to counter this stage. He is Strong vs Relic while also being immune to Hermit’s Waves and Sinner Snache’s death Surges. Ideally, by the time the next Li’l Bun comes around, you’ve built a stack strong enough to take it down without help from Fishman. After the second Li’l Bun, there is a very long pause between Li’l Buns that you can use to kill Hermit, should he still be alive.
    Unit Levels:
    Rock - 40
    Teamaster - 30
    Thaumaturge - 30 (Wave Immune)
    Mushroom - 40
    Fishman - 45
    Recommended Ubers:
    - Wave Immune attackers (bonus if they’re also Surge Immune)
    - Ranged Wave Blockers (G. Neneko is unreliable due to Sinner Snache)
Stage Drop: Gold Catfruit Seed x1
This drop is noteworthy since this is the ONLY source of Gold Seeds in the game. Not even Floor 40 has a Gold Seed.
Additionally, clearing this stage for the first time clears a mission that allows you to unlock Hermit Cat’s True Form.
In his True Form, Hermit Cat becomes Masked Grandmaster Cat. In TF, he gets a 50% increase to HP, a cooldown reduction from 51.2 sec to 37.87 sec, an increased Wave level from 3 to 5, and gains Strong vs Relic, a 20% chance to Curse Relic for 3 sec, and Curse Immune. These boosts transform Hermit into a whole different beast. His cooldown reduction means that he only has about 10 sec longer cooldown than Manic Macho Legs, giving Hermit a huge advantage in terms of power level. His HP is now 46k at 30, allowing him to better utilize his KB count where before he was unlikely to use all of his KBs and die too early. His Wave being Level 5 means that he can now snipe backline enemies much more consistently, which was a weakness Hermit had that limited his use cases. Overall, Masked Grandmaster significantly improves upon his previous role.
However, the talking point here is in his entirely new role: Anti-Relic. Let’s get this one out of the way first: he is not a Curse CC unit. His procs are much too inconsistent to work as a CC unit. It’s his Strong ability that breathes new life into Hermit. Having double HP vs Relic and an increased damage output against them makes him not only usable as a means of sniping backline Relics such as Loris, but also as a tanky attacker against them. Most Relic enemies that outrange Masked Grandmaster will ultimately deal relatively low damage to him, especially if you boost him beyond level 30. Because of this and his high effective DPS, he can be used as a tanker to take Relics head on. Due to his extremely low cooldown and cost, he becomes a very cost-efficient way of dealing with some of the tougher Relics such as Lowkey and Golem Sunfish. His Wave attacks also work well to keep Relic Doges and Sir Rels away from the frontline. He can even combo with Uril to bully Mr. Puffington. His competency as an anti-Relic far exceeds expectations and makes Masked Grandmaster an invaluable part of your collection.

Here is the way you beat the stage
    (Use rich)
    1. Wait for aku those guys to go infront of masked cat
    2. Use bullet train to snipe aku does guys for money
    3. Use rock to hold masked cat until sinners snake is next to masked cat
    4. Wait for sinner snack to be infront then bullet train him
    5. When your wallet is almost full spawn mitama
    6. Spam rock and tea master. Any time lil bun bun appears spawn fish to kill him
    7. Win

It’s complete RNG if it decides to hit Neneko or not. Every time I’ve tried Neneko strats she dies to Snache but I can’t deny that she’s broken here if she doesn’t get sniped.

I'd definitely say research up. For example Biohazard + Bony Bone cuts recharge time by about 2 seconds, allowing you to spam cats like Ramen and Kasa Jizo at an equal rate to your meatshields.
