The first tailgate stop is so it won’t swing into a car parked behind you. If the car is right behind you, then you’ll have to be careful. The 90 degree stop is so it won’t swing out past the side if you are parallel parked, causing a pedestrian, biker, or another vehicle from being brick walled.

It was an informative video but some of the things you complain about to me don't really make sense in regards to just being Bronco specific. You ever try putting a baby Carrier that's facing reverse in a 2 door civic? You would have the same problem and as far as opening the driver's side door with the rear handle to get somebody in the back seat in the back seat I do it all-in-one motion, maybe yours is heavier because they are leather seats? I have clothe seats. Also I have people climb in the back through the passenger side because the seat opens up farther the steering wheel is not in the way. An the Badlands doesn't have sports mode because it's an armored vehicle. Badlands was my 1st choice but in all reality I'm not much of a rock crawling guy I prefer to go fast down the trails and that's why I went with the Wildtrak it's more or less the raptor of the bunch. With the Badlands you have a lot of protection underneath the whole chassie and at high speeds that stuff doesn't help in maneuverability it kind of hinders the movement of the vehicle that's why it doesn't have Sport mode.

I could be mistaken but I think you can use Baja in combination with either no lockers or even potentially in 2H in order to "mimic" Sport mode.

    • @mdjak3686
      @mdjak3686 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I think you are correct. You can certainly do that on the Raptor..When you switch to Baja mode on Raptor it goes into 4wd but you can then turn the knob back to 2wd and you are in Baja in rwd. It’s what they make you use at Raptor Assault when you jump them so you can’t get up too much speed.

One other view of the 2-door...
I have a 2009 Volvo C30 (basically the European Ford Focus wrapped in Volvo and with the Volvo engine) It's a 2-door hatch.
I too was concerned with the car seats as my oldest was 3 at the time I got it and my youngest was just over a year. Oldest was in a regular car seat and the youngest was just transitioning to front facing.
For about 2 years, it was a bit of a PIA. My oldest could soon buckle himself in, but the youngest took a bit to get it. Both kids learned pretty quick how to unbuckle, so it was really just getting in that was an issue.
After those two years, the car has been great. Best of all? No door handles, lock buttons, power windows, or any other thing to play with in the back seat. Both kids are teens today and still love to ride in dad's car and are looking forward to when they will be driving it.
For the few years that it was a small hassle, the decade plus of driving a smaller fun vehicle with the kids well protected was so worth it.
Why not just pull the strut off the rear door?
Strange how the bolt at the front shock mount is a problem, but the fact that the eye of the shock in the rear hangs low isn't. That front isn't going to break off. It will get deformed so that it will never unbolt. When the time comes, you cut it off and replace it. We've been doing that with U-bolts on Jeep axles since the 1940's.
You will be getting a new top to replace that one. Ford has already made that promise to all 2021 deliveries. When the new one is put on - if the seam issue is still there, complain to the dealer.
Yea, the Sport Mode loss seems strange. However, I've seen that if you use Baja and then manually put it back in 2H, you actually will get a BETTER on-road performance.
The seat thing is just dumb. Maybe over time it will loosen up. And I hope people DO start to break those levers. Make Ford fix it. Inability to quickly access the back in an emergency should send flags to the NTSB. Does anyone remember how the seat moved in the original full size Bronco starting in '78? Only the passenger seat moved forward to access the back. You flipped a lever down near the back of the seat and the heavy spring lifted the entire seat up and into the dash with some force.
Will love it when I can remove my Bronco from the code 99 hold it is on and actually get it built. Not going to do that until Ford can provide everything I want the way I want it.

So I'm not offroading so the bolts aren't a problem, no kids and hardly use the back seats in any vehicle so good there, the rear gate/door is specifically designed to open in the 3 positions(you can always take the shock off and it would be jeep style), and my outer banks has sport mode.

I drove the Bronco and many of them from stock to badlands in Texas at Bronco Rodeo. I think you need to go there and learn how all the tech is used correctly. I changed my order from Wild Track to Badlands with Sasquatch and i am happy that after the change to. Soft top I. Received my new Bronco within a couple months. I got a 4 DR for my dogs so not sure why young family would consider a 2dr having children. OH and the off reading with all the different models i drove had no issues with the bolts. You can’t compare a Jeep with a 6 inch lift and 30K worth of aftermarket parts to a stock model. My wife has a 2020 Rubicon and my Bronco can go anywhere the Jeep can.

During my test drive, I experienced the same thing with point #4 - moving the driver seat fwd to reach the back. Not a big deal using two hands, but was used to being able to slide the seat fwd with just one hand. Interestingly enough, I was able to slide the passenger side seat fwd with one hand which makes me think it was my technique. I'm right handed and used my left hand to pull the driver seat lever (the one that eventually took two hands to move). With the passenger seat lever, I used just my right hand on the lever and was able to move the seat fwd. Also liked your point about the bolt sticking out too low and getting damaged by rocks. Would be nice to see the nut and bolt recessed.

    • @raptorsofinsta

its great to see you have a tesla also! I do as well (M3), but I also want a Bronco. The tesla is 4 weeks old and the Bronco is being delivered in a month. I ordered both at the same time and the tesla came first so I bought it, but I still also want to Bronco. Curious as to why you got both? I'm thinking of selling the Tesla for a number of reasons. The tesla gets much higher ratings on Consumer Reports so I'm torn because its not an everyday car IMO. I'm a family of one plus two dogs. I can see myself driving the Bronco much more on a daily basis. If you were single would you have/own both? Curious as to which one you enjoy driving more and if you could only do one which one would you choose and why? I've very torn! I work from home so gas is a non-factor. I'm afraid of high repair costs on the tesla if I ever were in an accident. Not to mention the CS issues (long repair wait times and over-charging for repairs) but I'm also scared eventually that the Bronco will be high to maintain. Thanks in advance for your opinions!

COMPLETELY agree on lower control arm shock bolts. Poor design. Getting a 2dr when you have a child seat age child then you made a mistake. Get the 4dr. The rear gate opening has 3 "stops". First is to protect the paint from scratches, especially when I go offroad in the Bronco and the Raptor. The Tesla has a full wrap because it's my wife's car and I don't want it to get rock chips or door dings etc. And the R8 is wrapped because I want the paint looking new. If you have to put kids in car seats a two door like this is probably the wrong choice. Not the fault of the company. They make four door models.
