Make a Supercapacitor which works like Battery

As capacitance will jump geometrically as distance between the plates decreases (try pressing on the plates), you could sand the surfaces of the plates, and use a high dielectric separator thin film to significantly boost the performance of this great cell, if you are running it as a capacitor instead of a battery;

Oh, this video is really wonderful.... one of the best ever. Where is the real problem of this kind batteries/supercapacitars? Maybe because they autodischarge fastly? (sorry for my basic english)

Better to add 5M ammonia to electrolyte to prepare ammine complex because otherwise during charging you will form a lot of sulfuric acid which will just react with zinc metal and be useless, however, with zinc ammine complex and manganese ammine complex, after charging, you will have zinc metal, manganese dioxide and ammonium sulfate solution buffered by a slight excess of ammonia, so as to be slightly alkaline. Resulting ammonium sulfate is a very soluble and good electrolyte with high conductivity.

So the potassium permanganate has strong oxidation so i wonder of hydrogen peroxide is equal results without the manganese in the permanganate? Are there any oxide passivations developing anywhere?

use it or you lose it, cause of the self discharge, is a real inconvenience, but being so easy to make! thats amazing, but i wouldnt say its as easy to understand, like a lot of things. for a robot, if u want to go for 10,000 farads run it for an hour, i reckon it would fit in its body and charcoal is really light!!! so this is what im going to do!

Just curious, can I use zinc sulfate monohydrate and Manganese Sulfate Monohydrate (in water) to make your electrolyte?

Which battery testing unit are you using? Mine (EBD-A20H) doesn't allow me to go below 100 milliamps of current, which is very annoying and makes it almost useless for real battery testing. Also, zinc sulfate is giving me dendrite problems. If I add less can this be reduced?
