- Despite Phantom Forces having a wide variety of different guns and attachments combined with the scope update revamping sights to be more like the most popular reticle sights like the Reflex or Kousaku Sight, it STILL feels like almost every server can be boiled down to same few guns/setups and that really got me thinkin: Seriously tho What Even is Phantom Forces Meta?

i use the P90, barely any recoil, very funny gun, 50 bullets in a mag.

I agree with the points you make, but to be fair, it just adds another layer of satisfaction when my personalised setup beats the standard, generic and unoriginal m16a3.
I think the reason everyone uses the m16a3 (i have 6600 kills on it) its because is a average gun, it does not excel at everything and it isnt bad on anything.
Wait but there is the M4A1 which is a rank 0 unlock and I don't see any one use it well I find it better then the M16A3 so to every one liking I might try out the M16A3

whats funny is that before someone said "honey badger op" and it was mostly him that was good with the gun of why it was so good, so many people thought it was a meta.
As someone who changes gun categories and classes, i actually use the dmr category for spam able/faster firing speed than the sniper class, even tho its weaker but still pack a ton of damage
And then the carbine category, i actually dont us it as much other than the gyro carbine

I just wanna point out that a lot of people use uncommon setups and guns too. I use the Ak 12, SL 8 and 9, SVU, Intevention, M16A4 and the MP7. My setups are all made by myself, e.g. My SL-8 has the scope it already has, marksman barrel, angled and blue laser.
When it comes to assault rifles I use a slightly different range of them than most people. Mainly just guns I like using or am comfortable using. Sometimes I use the an-94, the aug a1, the m16a1, or the type 20. Usually tho I use either the famas g2, ak103, Stg-44 with 5.56, or the gun I recently pre bought. The g11k2.

a very low recoil smg with low firerate, low damage yet an insanely large magazine capacity of 50 rounds despite having one of the swifter reloads in the entire weapon category. ohh, did i metion the headshot multiplier?
all of its statistics turn it into a hard to learn, easy to master weapon capable of outranging even crossmap sniper rifles if you're ambitious enough
(seriously, the thing is a beast at long ranges, i was able to get a 70 kill game on crane site despite me rarely ever getting more then 35 kills a match)
in most games, the meta will always shift towards the jack of all trades. whats the meta in tf2? usually stock. whats the meta in csgo? rifles. whats the meta in tarkov? low recoil intermidiate cartridge weapons. its unfair to blame the meta solely on the m16a3 because if it wasnt for that gun, another low recoil beamy weapon would take its place.

I personally go with whatever sounds the coolest and feels nice to use. effectiveness is secondary, just as long as it's viable👍
2:40 every single day, after playing with the svu for 3k killsl, the automatic playstyle is just harder. Today i only use Jury, Gyrojet, Msg90, Sl-9, SVU, Scar SSr and G11 because of the passive playstyle
g11k2 is the single best gun in the entire game in terms of skill. High damage, high rpm, no recoil and good range
well this is probably just a complete coincidence but i was talking earlier with some people about the meta just devolving and becoming nothing just a no brainer imo taking the fun away from playing in a public server
one of the reasons of why we dont see that much weapons is all the cool new ones are rank 150 +
I use the hk416 to often with the most random setup and a dcl120 half the time and i always use the k1a and the scar ssr and other carbines/dmr to add some diversity it is annoying how everyone sticks to one gun
i use the scar pdw a lot its really fun to use and it feels fresh
SCAR PWD and KRINKOV are super fun to use because of the amount of ammo attachments

if you're a fan of the scar pdw, I highly recommend the bizon. similar performance and multi's with slighty higher rpm and 50 round mags

tbh to fix this problem in cor6 they should limit the amount of guns or make guns widely different in stats and gameplay

When I see a meta gun I just want to shout at them in chat. For the sake of not being an immature or toxic player I don't, but the urge is there. I actually love it when I get killed by a niche or underrated gun, even if the person is omega sweatting.

the m16a3 is literally everything an ar has to offer with the added bonus of better than average penetration and damage ranges. the only guns that are significantly better in any one scenario is so much worse in the other scenarios comparatively that its not worth the sacrifice.
also the reason why everyone uses delta/ars or mbrake/stubby/blue/ap is because spirals and many other top players/high ranks main that setup while some prefer the better spread pattern of mbrake over keeping off the radar
2:39 hurt me personally because I mainly use L22,scar pdw,aku12 and M4 just because they are fun and barely get touched
Generic AR, generic ar, GENERIC AR. They're everywhere, so to make the category more diverse, perhaps nerf the M16A3. 16A3 mains please feel free to diss me in the replies. Either way, one way to change the fact that the M16A3 is just the gun that everyone uses, maybe we could change the stats. Sure, in the wise words of Arch, you want your gun to feel as nice as possible, to get a basis for gun balancing. But the M16A3 being the only weapon people use isn't cutting it for good balancing. The starter guns should be the guns people use as they should be the main weapon, and many others guns in the same category either being unique to one another or fulfilling a specific niche.
Every damn update just adds another M4. 4sk with a conversion to make it 3sk. Or just adds some completely useless gun that no one uses a week after it gets added

I remember after a newbie snuck up on me and killed me, he picked it up. Found him again and the dude couldn’t kill me cause he didn’t know how it’s bullet drop worked XD there was also an Ak carbine I started using as well cause it has pretty good multipliers but other than that I don’t usually use carbines

If I were to guess what the meta is I'd guess AKS-74 or M16A1 or maybe Stevens DB.
My main is a carbine, the Fal 50.63 Para. Hollow point gives a 700rpm 2sk very far, and .45 with muzzle booster and amt terminator is good on cqc maps.
I tried out the m16a3 today after getting killed by it, EVERY SINGLE MAP. and i played like 6 games, and 3 out of 6 games i had 60+ kills (the highest kill is 65, my highest deaths using it was 42, but i had 64 kills at the same time.) So yeah, the gun is really good lol (im only rank 49😭)

Moon, the AKM cannot 3sk all ranges with 1 headshot anymore like the 47 can, it has bad stk ranges compared to it and terrible horizontal recoil and rotational recoil, you would only use it if the 47 is too difficult
(btw pls don't take it personally, I'm just saying this so stylis doesn't nerf my raifu, it has been nerfed too much already and we all know how stylis does balancing. They don't play their own game. you are quite a large PF CC and stylis staff probably watches your content)
I'm completely not the M16A3 person due to overpopulated of it being use often, I be using some guns that are underused (aka can be underrated, I on the Hk417 rn) i honestly don't know why they haven't nerfed the M16A3, like it very easy to use but it becoming the point it become loved & hated by some people, similar how BFG become the loved, the hated and the classic in the community

M16a3 is my highest kill count gun with around 1750 kills. To be honest it’s just chill. Don’t have to try, and I also just love my skin for it lol

the k1a is basically the best gun in the meta, manageable, long ranged recoil with stubby grip and muzzle booster, giving it almost 1000 rpm, and being extremely fast, a torso multi, and AR ammo pool

Perhaps Stylis' method of developing a wide variety of everything in the game was not a good decision to go with in the long term. I seriously cannot tell the difference between all the Battle Rifles or any of the FALs

I do agree that those guns are very popular and common, but I think for a lot players, people like making wacky builds and making them work. I don't think it's correct to say that the other guns are just viewed as different sidegrades of the "meta guns". A lot of the fun and cool factor of phantom is making weapon builds that are cool and weird and I see a lot of players have that mentality when playing phantom. I've seen as many wacky set ups in every category as I have seen the "meta guns"

As a pf player i never use meta i always use cool guns like the bizon or a ww2 gun or wierd builds that work im rank 130 and me getting a higher rank means me using more fun guns like using insane fire rate guns

I get your point from a gameplay perspective but hey, having tons of various firearms is interesting. Most of them are similar because that's how you engineer firearms IRL, to exacting standards and needs. They don't inherently stand out in any way.
