    Everybody in the band is a great singer and I just love the way they organize their melodies and harmonies. I would strongly recommend that you just pull up a track listing for this album and go through it, because every single song on it is absolutely fantastic and well-known. It truly is one of the greatest albums of all time. And what's interesting is that you actually started by playing the very last song on the album. 😀

    • @Rockmusicpodcast
      @Rockmusicpodcast  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wow really that’s crazy. you know a album is good when the last song is the best one

    • @stevedahlberg8680

      @@Rockmusicpodcast I'm not saying it's the best one, laugh I'm just saying it was the last one. They are all really great in their own way. But yeah it definitely is a very anthemic way to end out the album.
      The bass guitar sounds so awesome in this as well as all their harmonies and in the first majority of the song, it's got all these extra beats and just almost reminds me of something almost Celtic or something but just kind of old folk and it gives this shifting unpredictable quality to it. So to me, that's just as important as the ending part because it sets it up for two-thirds of the song. And then with that bass guitar, they set the stage to double-time it at the end, which works perfectly.

    Great reaction, College Student. Welcome to the endlessly entertaining world of Fleetwood Mac. They had an incredible run, with 19 Top 40 hits. And much of their music is on the soundtrack of my youth growing up in the '70s. Of course, like every other guy, I was madly in love with Stevie Nicks. When you hit the FM song she sings called, "Landslide", be sure to use the studio version. In fact, it's always good to listen to the studio version first. ps~There's another band on the soundtrack from my youth, which had even more hits, that you should introduce yourself to called, *Electric Light Orchestra (aka ELO).* A great starter song for them is their 1975 classic, *"Evil Woman".* (Again, use the studio from the original album--not a later released compilation album.)

    • @Rockmusicpodcast

    • @Cosmo-Kramer
      @Cosmo-Kramer ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rockmusicpodcast They are incredible, indeed. ELO's been my favorite band since I first heard them in the fall of 1975. And it was, *"Evil Woman",* the song I recommended you start with, that got me hooked. Again, please use the studio version. And get it from the original album called, Face The Music. The song appears on later compilation/greatest hits albums, but they cut part of the song out. So go right to the original album, Face The Music, for it. The album cover has an Electric Chair on the cover, and the song length is 4 minutes and 32 seconds. You'll love it!

      Mick Fleetwood was married to George Harrison's sister-in-law, Jennie Boyd, at the time. Christine and John McVie had been married since 1968. Lindsey and Stevie had been together since about the same time. All three relationships were falling apart as the album was being recorded.

    A great band with a long turbulent history. Started as a blues band in the 60's when fronted by the great Peter Green. Getting their name from drummer Mick Fleetwood and bass guitarist John McVie, the only original members left.
    After Peter Green left and they were joined by Johns wife Christine McVie they had a barren few years until they were joined by guitarist Lyndsey Buckingham and singer Stevie Nicks in 1975.
    You should check out "Oh well", "Green Manalishi" and "Rattlesnake shake" from their early years, and "Im so afraid", "Rhiannon" anything from the "Rumors" album "Sisters of the moon", "Tusk" and "Behind the mask"

    Went to see them in concert a few years back when they'd gotten both Lindsay and Christine back in the band (at the same time even) for the first time in a long time. It was a great performance. Lindsay is a good enough singer to be front man for a band for probably an entire concert. Christine might well be as well. And Stevie...Stevie is pure magic. So we got a few songs with Lindsay on lead vocals, quite a few with Stevie on lead vocals, and a few with Christine on lead vocals with a unique vibe that, good as they are, Lindsay and Stevie can't pull off. It was sort of like having three concerts in one. Not many bands have the depth to pull that off. Add the great instrumentals and that was one heck of a show.

    GREAT reaction!! Love seeing the genuine love of music here, it's written all over your face!! That's a beautiful thing!!!😊 Though I have much to say about Fleetwood Mac and this song... most of it has been covered by others in their comments! lol!! So all I'd like to add is, if you'd like to get a better feel for the band in general... you NEED to check one of their other HUGE and earliest hits "RHIANNON". Their 1976 Live on The Midnight Special is iconic and will leave not only with goosebumps, but a better feel for the group as a whole!! Oh, and Stevie Nicks (main lead singer) loses her ish at the end of the performance!! It's incredible!!!
    Even though there was always turmoil between them (in one fashion or another)... the love was there!!! There was nothing but pure electricity, fire and passion. Every song of theirs has a story and causes the listener to feel. Anyway, my vote for the next FM song to check out is "RHIANNON" Live on the Midnight Special... Stevie Nicks (main lead singer) is known as the white witch. She's ethereal, as goddess really. Her vocals and delivery has a way of putting the listener under a spell!!🤗 Love ur channel!!❤

    This record is from front to back from beginning to end one of the all time best complete albums of all time. Listen to each and every song and see what songwriting is all about. The women of this era were phenomenal. Fleetwood Mac, Heart, Joni Mitchell was gem. Carley Simon, Joan Jett. There’s too many to mention all of them. And that’s not mentioning probably the most important artist Aretha Franklin who was a voice for all black women and all women in general. She was something special. Keep discovering music. Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks had a on off love relationship. Lindsey Buckingham is a brilliant Guitarist. Christine McVie had been married to the original band member bassist John McVie they where divorced. The band was originally formed in the UK around 1968 by a formidable blues guitarist Peter Greene with John McVie and Drummer Mick Fleetwood. Greene’s tracks include Black Magic Woman which later became a hit for Santana. He left in 1970 I think and the then Christine Prefect joined she had had a hit with her band called Chicken Shack the song was ‘ I’d Rather Go Blind’. Buckingham and Nicks joined as a pair around 1974. It was Stevie Nicks singing on this track and by the Buckingham plays guitar by finger plucking !

    FM is primarily a live band. It's good at first, first the short aud radio trimmed 3-4 versions. However, some songs especially this one open up a new dimension live: more energy, passion and above all horrible fade-outs.
    Sources: Tusk Tour Live CD 1980, Mirage Tour Forum CA DVD 1982, The Dance DVD 1997, TV Midnight Special 1873+76.
    Dou you your son more than your daughter? no factional thinking; three great voices so different, two great rhythm members; only together do they achieve this uniqueness, because each contributes its positive abilities in its own way and, above all, can carry the others along live.
