    Your alphas really have come so far from that first alpha tutorial video! This looks fabulous! 🤗
    A couple more notes to add on to your great points:
    For the flat alpha technique, if you want to be successful with it you REALLY have to knot loose. If anyone reading is struggling with it- loosen your knotting. The colours peak through way less.
    For the bunching or pinching of your work when changing colours- I find if you pull your new string in and do the first half of the knot and then plant your finger on the fabric of your bracelet and use your other hand to pull the base string out from pattern a bit you can achieve a nice level of tension in the back of the bracelet. Then keep a finger on the edge of your bracelet when you’re ready to tighten the second half and it will help prevent your knot from wanting to join with its last one on the other side of your work! Then you don’t have to stop and cut strings! 😉
    I would still recommend not carrying a string from one side of a bracelet to the other if there’s a lot of colour changes. You may get a ‘pillowing effect’ where all that extra string on the back makes your bracelet balloon out in the middle to accommodate for it. Your fabric may be flat but if you look at it side profile you can see the entire thing will arch to accommodate for all that stuffing underneath even if your colour changes are on point!

      Your point to loosen knots makes so much sense. I've been really struggling with the colors poking out and I'm definitely going to try to knot looser and see if it helps. Thank you so much!

    • @dwi_7951
      @dwi_7951 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I personnaly make the 1st half of the knot with the next color, then the previous color goes under, and i do the second half of the knot. You can also just put the previous color under directly idk if that changes the result much

    • @mrs.stefonmeyers7156
      @mrs.stefonmeyers7156 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I was gonna ask this. I personally have trouble when the color changes Goes (example)
      NNNNNNW
      NNNNNNW
      On the first row at the end I will usually do the fb knot normally in W, but include the N color string inside the knot at the backward part of fb. Then, I do another fb, include the N in the forawrd part, and exclude it in the backward part. Then I make a backward knot with N, do the color change, and tuck W behind. Idk if what I said is understandable but it works for me.

    Different strings for the same color! Oh, yeah yeah! Thank you Miss Marcia Knotts! I am new to bracelet making. I have had that same problem when dragging the strings. I thought about doing multiple strings but I was nervous to deviate from the traditional instruction. So to hear you suggest this simple technique is so great because My bracelets are going to look much better and I am much more confident in my individual decision making while I'm creating because I respect your work so much and anonymously and across the pond we had the same idea. That is so cool. Thank you for these videos. Don't let them short change you girl! You're worth every single penny! Much love. Happy Knotting.

    Hey do you mind making a video of how to do a colour stitch if it’s on the edge (a switch if it’s going from one row to the next). Many people have tried to explain it but I can’t picture it and I learn more by seeing it and I haven’t seen any videos on how to do that. So if it’s possible could you do a small explanation or comment a link to a video of someone explaining how to do it please. I love your video btw it was very helpful 💜

    • @MashaKnots

      Don't thread the previous colour through the knot as you do in the flat alpha technique, just put it back. It's not perfect but it works

  • @danielleraymundo3117
    @danielleraymundo3117 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    My biggest problem is really how to make my wall hanging edges straight. I've been trying to do different methods to see which is effective but nothing works, and I actually think it's because of the threads that I'm using. It's so similar but I feel like the other is a little bit thicker that the rest since I have 2 different brands. That's why I'm trying to just stick to one brand and hope that works. I actually haven't tried the ruler thing yet so I think that might work. This video is really helpful and I actually use most of the on my alphas 😍

    I thought I was the only one using different strings when they are far apart 😅 Good to know that, that isn't weird and it actually helps to make the edges more straight

    Anyone have any advice for dealing with being uncomfortable while knotting? My right shoulder and my back just really start hurting and no amount of medicine helps. Note that I have a history was carpal tunnel and tennis elbow. I know I should probably just take breaks but I really get into it sometimes and binge watch tv shows at the same time lol

    I’m having trouble with the same amount of knots across being shorter than the same amount of rows, it makes the images I’m knotting look stretched out. Any tips?? Does this happen to anyone else?
