After watching today's Gamescast I know what to do: I think I'm gonna pass on "The Order 1886". Instead, I'm gonna take the $60 I would have spent on the game and put towards "Bloodborne". "Gamers, speak with your wallet."
You should at least play the order. Buy it used if you must. The game is not bad as everyone says it is. Mostly all of the "credible sites" bash the game with low scores and the gamers who played the game says it's ok. And the rest haven't played it and just bashing it cause their fanboys.

In this case, numbers do lie. Talk to any gamer that PLAYED the game and they will tell you those reviews are wrong. One creditable review site had the new Rambo game better than this. Another one had aliens colonial marines higher than the order. Don't let nobody tell you what's good or not. Decide for yourself.
I feel like Tim is getting so much better at being a part of the team. Once one of my less liked parts of Kinda Funny, he's now meshing much better with the conversation and much more entertaining. You guys rock! Beyond!

I understand the concept of scores and how distilling it gives a ballpark idea of a game's "goodness". The problem is that the internet sees scores as a relative thing and compare it to other games you've scored. If one game (particularly if it's from a franchise) gets a 9 but another gets an 8, you can bet your ass that those that disagree will be out in force and you'll be accused of being a terrible person that needs to be fired or that you're on the take.
That's the thing. I also didn't think The Order: 1886 was a good game. It has terrible stealth mechanics, a solid, but boring gameplay and its story feels like the first 100 pages of a book that has over 500. But yes, I'm game for more. The world and atmosphere they built felt very original and there are a ton of barely explored concepts that could carry great stories. (Also Lafayette is a freaking awesome character). The mix of science fiction, history, mythology, urban legend and technology made for a very interesting world, and one I wouldn't mind exploring more of. Cheers guys, great video as usual.
I agree, a 5 point scale on reviews would probably be best. It gives you a general over-view and kind of whets your pallet for the full review, but doesn't get bogged down in minutia.
Its funny that when talking about review scores Colin mentions "we don't talk about art in this respect" but we do with movies, and movies are considered more artistic than games. I'm not saying games are not art but traditionally digital media content is always on some sort of rated scale.

I used to read the notes in the paper magazine and based in my "knowledge" of the reviewer I would be exited or not... The score was never important! The sad part is I don't have time at this time of my life to read about games as I used too but still when I want to buy a game I do read from different sources and base on this I choose which one I would like to get.
I believe that the sequel to the Order can definitely do well. Yes, there is a stigma, but all that means is that RAD knows what NOT to do. A lot of people WANTED to like the Order and WISHED it was what we all thought it was going to be. So RAD and Sony can still 100% deliver on that promise. If the Order's sequel came out and got 8's and 9's, of course it would sell tremendously. You need to be open to your customers and let them know you changed stuff. Bioware did a lot of that during the DA2 > DA:I transition, and SE is doing it with FFXV by showing us "Hey this isn't FFXIII, don't be afraid." RAD has a good concept, it'd be a waste to throw it away.
Completely agree with Colin regarding review scores, they serve no purpose nowadays other than quenching the thirst of fanboys. I'd hate to think that true gamers out there are skipping the meat of a review just to look at a number between 1 and 10 that supposedly perfectly sums up a games worth and using that to justify whether or not they'll get the product. It's... illogical. There's no other word for it - especially when most sites have multiple people reviewing these games, so consistency is for the most part absent and even more damning is the idea that review scores can create a monopoly in that publishers notice that gamers only buy games with high review scores, so they buy off review sites so that people will buy their game. So in some cases, review scores can even be so far wrong, as to be immoral. If this industry is going to grow up and be taking seriously, review sites need to drop review scores, as they're just being used for point scoring - not determining the actual quality of a game. Also, Tims point about judging kids' intelligence on their grades, is some of the most irrational bullshit I've ever heard. Some of the smartest and inspirational people got bad grades, didn't go to college or university, just like some of the best games I've played got horrible reviews critically. If you restrict the representation of a games quality to a simple number, then all that does is create confusion, and if we're being dramatic - corruption, within an industry we all love.

Kinda Funny Games The Order: 1886 is so weird that I didn't even play it. I had to return my pre-order. I refuse to spend $55 on such a short game with little to no replay value. I chose to wait for a drastic price cut. Game prices in Canada are raising up to $75 now (putting them at about $86.25 after taxes here in Ontario) because our dollar is shit right now so we've gotta be extra picky with our titles now. Personally, I don't pay full price on my games anyway... I wait for deep discounts before buying.
Nintendo already confirmed 2015 window for zelda and star fox, with star fox out first...they said it quite confidently too, and while I doubt they wanna miss November release for zelda, I do see it coming early 2016 probably :/

There is always an issue with audio. At least one person(never Greg) is super hard to hear so I turn it up only to have everyone(or just Greg) burst out laughing(or a loud response) causing me to quickly turn the volume down. Its driving me nuts.
I loved the order. Game play length was no problem actually its the same length as most games. The firefights were awesome but could have been beefer the werewolf fights need to be completely redone. Maybe get Naughty Dog to help me out with the shooting Gallery and the monster fights. The story was great even though I feel like they took some of the story out for the next game and probably the rush it for release. The cover base shooting was smoother than Gears of War. It reminds me of the PlayStation 2 era games in a good way. I'd sat it was a good game and a great experience. I don't get were the disappoint comes from. Like most games they promised one (film like experience) thing and got as close as they could wish was (which was exactly what they promised minus the great monster fights).
i know im late to watching this video but about the star wars thing. I think if a star wars game comes out it will be from Avalanche Software and Disney Interactive Studios it will be Disney Infinity 3.0 Star Wars.
You guys do realize that the only one of the three consoles who were actually bought based on their brand was the Xbox One right? Nielsen's study showed the top 5 reasons so, if anyone is winning that War, it is Microsoft because they've got clear bland recognition. Think about this, in the 50 Shades of Gray trailer, he tells her about his playroom and the response was, "You mean like your Xbox" and nobody thought twice about it because Xbox has become as synonymous with game console as Nintendo used to be.
Review scores are a great consumer tool, but of course reviewers hate them. They don't have a finite amount of money to spend on games, they get all their games for free.
I care about Hitman, in fact a lot of people do. Absolution sold a lot, oh and to then say Just Cause is a go for E3 but Hitman isnt -_- Both SQEX games and Hitman is definitely the bigger franchise of the 2.
Even gameplay can not be in the game... Halo 2 E3 gameplay video was awesome and never was in the final game. Also, Xbox was not a failure, it sold #1 here in Canada and U.S vs Ps2 in the last years. Now, in Japan... We know how it is for MS.

love the 20th anniversary box. I was fortunate enough to buy one on ebay, and gave my original black PS4 to my girlfriends little brother.
