    Not necessarily about this but can you replace the fuel delivery line that sits under the tank with an an6 line kit and 12mm banjo connectors?(second gen rsv)

    Had a look at mine yesterday and it looks like the connector has totally corroded off!🙈 The pipe wasn't even connected!lol Hopefully I can get what's left of it out and replaced.🤞🏻😅

    Just did this
    Would that cause pressure to build up in the tank?

    Thanks for that, just did mine. I used a 2mm drill, is that enough? What drill dia. are you using if I may ask?

    Damn! How long / deep does that drain go? There’s rubber hoses inside the tank connecting that spigot to the cap, right?

    • @dutchbiker4825
      @dutchbiker4825 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a plastic coating around those hoses that can't be detached. If you can't unblock it with a drill, try an iron wire.

    Please help,i'm in a world of pain.I was doing this very drilling part but my tank was tied up to the roof of my shed and i was managing quite easily to drill in-situ,however,ahem,the tank moved a little while drilling and snapped the drill bit!!!Do these taps unscrew out?They have a hex afterall?Thanks.

    I have the same nylon or plastic tank and it is cracked at the base where the fuel pump sits. Does anybody here know if there is an epoxy or anything i can use on this tank material to seal it for good?

    My bike is leaking fuel when I put more than 5/1.2 litres any ideas where from or why

    • @dutchbiker4825
      @dutchbiker4825 ปีที่แล้ว

      Where does it leak from?

    • @raydavison2972
      @raydavison2972 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably a split /leaking breather or water drain hose INSIDE the tank. Instead of it draining water, it's draining fuel once the fuel level is at the height of the damage in the hose.

    Just wondering if just changing the connector would be more adventurous £4 part 2B001203 as it’s usually only the plug that reacts to the water the tube should be fine.

    • @APWorkshops
      @APWorkshops  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Attempting to remove the plug usually ends up with it coming permanently detached or broken ... drilling it out save time and hassle dude 👍🏻

    • @nigelmitchell351
      @nigelmitchell351 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This can be done, by hand, with the tank in situ, raised to its max. I suggest a 2mm drill as anything smaller is at risk of breaking, then you're in a new world of shite. Turn the drill half a turn then remove and clean, repeat until clear. I put some light oil down mine to try to delay further corrosion.

      @@nigelmitchell351 I did this myself yesterday. Didn't need to move the tank at all. A real life saver. '17 TV4 Factory.

      @@ianfirmin Good for you buddy !
      Did you wait until you had water in your tank or was it a preemptive move.
      I noticed water slipping into my tank after I washed the bike, mines an 08 RSV factory, red white & black and I fkin love it !
