How portuguese cities take action on climate change | Sustainable Destination

Segundo a Organização das Nações Unidas, quase 70% da população mundial viverá em áreas urbanas em 2050. As cidades são as principais emissoras de gases com efeito estufa e são também aquelas que mais sofrem com o impacto das mudanças climáticas. É nestes aglomerados que existe um maior potencial para a mudança e onde a atividade turística deve assumir-se como um motor de transformação. Neste episódio da série “Sustainable Destination” vamos conhecer dois projetos que procuram ajudar as cidades portuguesas neste combate. É o caso da “Electric Live Tours”, uma experiência de self-drive com viaturas 100% elétricas para turistas em Lisboa, e o NEYA Porto Hotel, uma unidade que nasceu da recuperação das ruínas de um edifício de arquitetura manuelina e que se apresenta como um projeto ecologicamente responsável e socialmente justo.

According to the United Nations, nearly 70% of the world population will live in urban areas by 2050.
Cities are the main emitters of greenhouse gases and are also those that suffer the most from the climate change impact. It is precisely in these agglomerations where there is a stronger potential for change and where tourism should be a driving force for transformation.
In this episode of the “Sustainable Destination” series, we highlight two projects that seek to help Portuguese cities in this fight.
This is the case of the “Electric Live Tours”, a self-drive experience with 100% electric vehicles for tourists in Lisbon, and the NEYA Porto Hotel that was born from the recovery of the ruins of a building with Manueline architecture and which presents itself as an ecologically responsible and socially just project.
