Just think that he came in just in the semifinal (with the last game played 2 weeks before), had to adapt so quickly and faced Ronaldo in the final; by the 70th minute, Desailly was sent off and he had to make sure Brazil did not score. And he did all of those without even mentioning how difficult it was. A seasoned player at 30 years old.
I adore hearing Frank speak with such reverence and love for not only the most successful point in his career but also all the people who were there alongside him. It’s really touching and fascinating. Thank you to Frank and the whole ESPN FC crew for wonderful segments like this.
I have watched espn fc for a long time. To hear the joy and with the way frank regails his memories, to see the way Dan hangs on his every word and lives the moments that are etched in history. With macca, talking of the galactico's coming together. There was so much positive energy flowing through the screen it was frightening. More people talking about there most joyous experience's please.
Zidane's best tournament is the Euros 2000, and then maybe the '06 WC. Had France not won '98 he would have been destroyed by the press for his red against Saudi Arabia.
We joke about Frank talking about winning the World Cup, but it’s amazing how self aware he is to know how lucky and crazy it was, especially for him to win it
I really appreciate this piece of content right here I was in like my junior year of high school in 98 talk about Golden Generation that team was what made me a Die-hearted fan of the French team Zidane, Petite, Thuram, Lizarazu, Karembeu, Viera, Henry, Djorkaef & Trezeguet loved all those guys that’s when we were most potent in terms of talent & dominance
What a great insight from Frank, a World Cup winner! This is Frank's best moment on the show, all the others just hushed, for when a WC winner talks, you listen. That was some team, with Zidane the Merlin in the midfield. We were rooting for France as Brazil won the last one, as Europeans, first timers and having Arsenal players. When you think of all the billions of people that have come and gone on this planet, how many have played & won a WC final, yet ESPN have one in the studio and a very likeable one too!

Great memories Frankie, was devastated when France won in 98. Hence, 94 & 02 are my favorite WCs ever, but 02 is my best because I was grown & saw more games.
Even as a Brit, I followed the 98 teams fortunes in that WC and even one of my pals then suggested we head to Paris for the final. In fact, I quit my job, just to watch ZZ in that tournament. My job then involved a lot of travel and I didnt want be in Vladivostock trying to find a working TV so easier to just quit work and take in the event. I was in Paris on other business during the group stages and even then it was magical. Although I didnt actually go see any game live. Back in London, on the day of the final, there was a big article in the Sunday Times featuring Frank L. I think the headline read: Today, I play in the World Cup Final. Great times.
World Cup 98 is the first one I really watched so I have a lot of nostalgia for it. 1986 and 1990 I was a bit too young to watch it properly, 1994 we didn't qualify so didn't bother with it, so started with 98

Zidane is great. He has already wrote his name in football history books both as a player and a manager. He has the right to choose to enjoy life with his family now.
On the topics of Zidane, got to agree with Frank. 2000 and 2006 was easy the most GOATED version of Zizou. Not many players can do a 180 turn on prime Ronaldinho and leave him for dead.
Frank is right regarding talent. The German poet Goethe once said: "What is a genius?..... a talent that works." By the way...as far as I remember Frank has never been a first team player for France. Either he came in later or he played for somebody who was injured.
People are hating Frank for nothing he never said he was the reason why they won he is just happy he was of the team that one he was a role player and he understood his role
Hey at least France actually dominated the France 98 wc start to finish unlike you Messi bootlickers who scraped by winning a World Cup on penalties and won’t shut up about it

😂😂The English created the Game, but they have overrated players that they try to hype. England NEVER produced a player to be in the GOAT debate. England don’t even have a Top 10 player
The only thing when they mentioned Croatia was about Bilic "simulation". What a disgrace because they were arguably the most difficult opponent on that road and if there was no Boban injury Thuram would never score his (only) two goals. It would be good sportmanship to show some respect because that croatian team was stacked and was playing great football. But hey, we are already used to this arrogance of the "big ones".

Poor Croatia. Then someone who has never scored before will score against them. Then in the final there will be a controversial penalty. It's a penalty against Argentina.
Espn and tv are so coocked bro any low quality youtuber will have more broll or pics of the guy playing, this is why people dont watch anymore, production stuck in the past.
Like most of the previous World Cup's winner in the next edition after: Italy in 2010, Spain in 2014, Germany in 2018. France finally has warded off the curse in 2022 by reaching the final stages after 2018.
What a treasure frank is. Love him. The class and modesty. Really an open book.
he reminds me of my grandpa haha. Energetic, vibrant, full of stories and experience- just fun🥂

Modesty?? 😂😂😂 are u being sarcastic
I too see him as modest here. The "Frank, shut up" is more like a persona, I think. It's more funny that way... He truly is a lovely guy!
Enjoyed the stories. Wanted more from Frank. ❤
Find someone in your life that loves you as much as Frank loves talking about winning the World Cup.
Can you blame him lol?
In his defense, I would be insufferable if I was a part of my country's first World Cup-winning team lol.
I'd never shut up if I won a world cup
Frank loves nothing more than himself.l
If I won a world cup I'd have it tattooed across my forehead 😂 let the man revel in the glory of his accomplishment.
Frank is a National Treasure. He sounds like such a fun grandpa🎉

That French team was SICK. Unbelievable lineup.

That's why Zinedine Zidane is my favorite footballer player of all times the ULTIMATE GOAT OF THE MIDFIELD...#,ZIZOU🌟🇨🇵🏆⚽.
France winning the World Cup on home soil back then was a proud moment for every French since Alain Prost (the GOAT himself).
