@@TheModestAesthete Yeah interest rates are hurting everyone with a variable mortgage right now. I've built in two more rises for this year into the budget. If you need to condense envelopes for the time-being, go ahead. You might get a psychological thrill in feeling 'richer' having more money concentrated in one envelope, rather than being spread out over a few.

I actually use cash when I’m cash stuffing & I keep track of them by actually seeing my cash envelopes get depleted + only bringing the cash I budgeted to spend. I’m genuinely curious how it works when you’re cashless/using cards?
hello! thank you so much for watching, i'm glad you've been enjoying the videos!! such a good question :) i count the contents of my envelopes regularly to check that they balance the same as my accounts so i am always acutely aware of how much i have in them (i also find it so satisfying and motivating to count the contents haha). i am a very visual person so i remember very well how much i have available, and before i go out i can also double check so i don't overspend. i then note my purchases while i'm out on the notepad on my phone and unstuff. because i find it painful removing prop money from my envelopes it has the same effect on me as real cash, i don't overspend when i use my cards. sounds complicated but it's actually incredibly simple! hope that answers your question! 🥰
