The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

I’ve been a magician for 21 years I was lucky enough to get to know Fantasio the last few years of his life. He even got me and my mom into the Magic Castle in Hollywood as his guests. I have a huge collection of his original appearing/vanishing candles, canes and even the vanishing magic wand. He was truly one of the first to preform magic like this.

Real name was Ricardo Roucau (1936 - 2017) from Argentina. He literally wrote the book on disappearing/appearing props. Invented many of them himself. Probably his wife here.

Sí. Su nombre real era Ricardo. Su mujer y asistente en el vídeo se llamaba Mónica. Saludos a todos desde Argentina! 🇦🇷

Magic has come a long way. Have never seen a short sleeve tailed dinner jacket, so he had that going for himself.

Is that ''cotton candy'' he eats that turns into yards of fabric?

Why is there applause at 1:25? All he did at that moment was take the candle out of the candle holder.
I'm guessing the audience is just obediently responding to audience prompt signs, and the person with their hand on the "applause" button goofed up.

Great act , but The Ed Sullivan Show I have to ask you: what is the deal with this cheesy generic waltz music you have overdubbed on Fantasio's act ?!! Yuck, this music is bad and is not representative of the original act by Fantasio. (I have noticed that you have done the same thing to other magic acts who appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show", dubbing over generic canned music to replace the original music used by these acts. Is it just because you are too cheap to pay for the music licensing rights to the original music ? C'mon, show more respect to the variety acts that MADE the Ed Sullivan show what it was. And it seems like whoever is posting these videos is not only cheap , but is too lazy to even bother to select a different music track for each act , but uses the same cheesy generic waltz music for every magic act. Shame on you. At least if you are going to overdub generic stock music , choose different tracks that at least make an attempt to be similar to the original music that these acts used.)
