Hi..fairly new to your videos..watch you about every day now..am into doing the same stuff.have been for about 40 years..The bracelet at about 9:30..I have an exact one I just got for 1.00..mine is marked on the rim edge in small font...says ..MEXICO...maybe yours does too?? I have not had it tested yet. THX
where do you sell the silver? you mentioned mailing it after you break down pieces?
I sell everything on eBay. I don't sell a lot as scrap anymore and I don't buy scrap pieces very often. Estate companies know the price of scrap so getting a deal on scrap isn't very likely. I get something like 85% after fees selling on eBay. If you want top dollar you have to sell directly to a refinery, they pay something like 90-92%. Most refineries have mail in service where you send your scrap, and typically have minimums of 100 oz of silver or 10 oz of gold.
I love seeing the old coins. I love imagining the pockets and trades they've been through.
I agree, the history alone is worth the money. Thanks for watching
Those coins are worth money dude
I would like to know if you put your jewelry for sale, l will love to buy some please let me know the information plz thanks.
ZDo you want to sell me the broken ring of garnet...? If you still have it, how much are you asking?
Where do you sell your items?
The pearls are rice pearls ..pl do not squish the beads. It will sell more as a piece.
Where did you sell your silver?
Sold all of it on eBay, but I'm not selling a whole lot right now. More just hoarding and piecing out a few things here and there. I think silver spot price has a good chance of rising from here, we'll see how this post ages. Not as big a fan of eBay right now either with the changes. Selling to a smelting company is usually best, but they have minimums on weight. Thanks
Opals are commonly set in silver that could be real
Neat. Love your videos.
What's Up Thrift Hunter! I saw you today at an estate sale. I wanted to just say what's up but didn't know how to say I was one of your followers On TH-cam. I really do think your awesome. To find someone who does what I do online is awesome. When I asked if your on TH-cam didn't want to come across as creepy but I really did want you to know you are awesome of a person to share your finds and knowledge. It's prettycool! Thank you.
Hey man thanks for taking the time to say hi. Sorry I didn't have much time to talk very much, when I'm in buying mode I'm pretty laser focused on that. It's not creepy at all, there were some other buyers there that know me from TH-cam as well. I know like a dozen of the people that were there. Hope you found some good deals. I ended up spending around $500, nothing incredible but a few decent buys I think. I'll definitely make a video this weekend. Thanks
the pepper grinder charm is a manual pencil sharpener ;)
If you decide to break down the lapis piece, I would be interested in the lapis. Contact me if interested.
love your vids. the divided bowl you talked about @17:59 might have been a very sought after crystal pattern. Some of those crystal patterns have a high demand. i know you are busy and may not want to put in the extra time to research that kinda thing, however my heart breaks when i think about a highly sought after piece of crystal being wasted just for scrap. no harm tho no foul. just my opinion.
Duly noted. You are correct. I know it's been a year, but I've read your comment! I will check from now on. Thank you!
I know that you usually bend the pieces to see if they are silver but one way I use is if you drop them on a nice solid table or on the drive way or something, silver has an unmistakable sound to It. It has a particular ring to it that Other metals especially brass doesn't have. Try to different rings one sterling a d I bbq e brass and you'll see what I mean.....GLS
Yeah I think the sound of silver is something you pick up on quickly. I do find a similarity in the sound of brass and silver. I use sound and bend tests in the field, however I 100% use acid on stone for the testing after I have purchased.
Thrift Hunter. I agree but I don't have one and have never used one. May get one before I go out again. Thanks.
Holy shit. I didn't know that about the gold beads. Thank you!!!
The second coin that you held up was a 1806 George III, so that beats the 1816 coin by 10 years. Great grab bag of coins. I'm seeing the same thing about silver pricing at estate sales. Not worth it--sometimes even on the 50% off days. Lots of good stuff this week.
I think the opal ring is natural, the more color there is the more they are worth. You may have a real Ethiopian Opal. You need to look up how to take care the opal if you don't already know. Great Video
Great to see you do some more videos. Awesome finds as always. I am interested in the broken garnet ring if you still have it. Maybe a couple other items also. I will shoot you a email later when I get done working.
It would be great for you to buy a metal/stone tester. It would be a good investment
Mother of pearl prices look like angel wings
May I ask where do you sell these? Thanks
Your Fav coin with 1816 date is a commemorative Canadian coin. Reference is to Major-General Sir Isaac Brock (niagarafallsmuseums.ca/discover-our-history/history-notes/brock.aspx ) who died in 1812 so the coin is a commemorative issued later. Definitely collectible by Canadian collectors. If you want to sell the 1906 Canadian cent I am game. The Brock commemorative is pretty cool, you should keep that.
U have great finds ..pl excuse the nuts bit. Simply want u to pay closer attention to ur finds...good luck always.
How much are you selling the broken Pearl and lapiz necklace?
are you selling the 1816 coin
but my favourite was the Russian garnet ring 💍 i llllllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it
I still have it. It's not going anywhere soon. Thanks
nice
Your nuts ..the silver is minuscule u will get far less once it is separated . The glass itself is worth more...sell it as is
my favourite coin is the 1816 one
bohemian garnet
your pepper grinder charm is actually a PENCIL SHARPENER. Probably belonged to a teacher..
The round pearls have nice lustre. I'd price those of I were you.
Lots of beautiful pieces!
