It feels fitting for Dan Jones, as the one with the most experience, to be quickly picked off first. That just feels like a horror movie thing to have happen.
The comedic timing is so good I almost wonder if Dan edited in jokes afterward. "I'm going to leave both walkie talkies here, I assume we're going to stick together until we get out of here" [Turns around, Emmons is gone] "I don't like how quiet it just got"
13:08 “We tried our best. We thought about it and said nah.” 23:23 “We tried our best. We thought about it, then we saw something move.” 32:30 “We tried our best. We collected his body to fill the quota.” 51:52 “What’s a snare flea?!” As Emmons BLAZES past Dan Prime is hilarious. 1:00:05 I guess Emmons was walking with rhythm, and he attracted the worm.
it just occurs to me about 25 minutes in that I remember that Playframe Dan has a notorious problem with level layout retention , and that I am now waiting to see how lost they will become.
Wow, the two different types of monsters outside the ship being too distracted fighting each other to notice Dan, that was such perfect emergent gameplay that could have been a perfect clutch win but the dumb autopilot had to go and land the ship with the door facing the wrong way.
1:12:52 This moment is so perfectly cinematic. The baboon hawk screeches and pulls our attention and we follow it as it moves across the screen, left to right, until we see the ship. Then, from behind a rock, a dog emerges on the same visual trajectory. Following the eyeline of the baboon hawk, we see another dog behind it as we continue moving slowly, curve slightly around. You notice that the rock is shaped a lil weird.. is there something behind the rock still?? We move further and can see the head of a *third* dog, silhouetted, as the baboon hawk screams and the pups attack, the third fully coming out of hiding. The baboon hawk pulls back as they are attacked and it's back is against a cliff wall as the yield sign acts as the visual barrier on the left, boxing all of them in to the middle of the screen.
I am the one person watching this who did not know anything about this game before this video (including that it existed), so I acknowledge and appreciate the effort on Dan F's behalf to explain things!
45:43 What Dan Jones is discussing here is that when a Bracken is generated, it will select a favourite "room" in the building that it'll take it's victims' corpses to. there is not anything otherwise notable about this room iirc.
I love how Dan's getting ready to leave because spider, and Dan comes back through with a traffic sign clutched tightly in his hands, turns, just mentions "There's a lot of loot" and just keeps going back in.
Please do play more! The game is bonkers good and you hardly saw anything yet! Gamer Dan - aka Gambler Dan - died almost every run, Smart Dan tiptoed around and grabbed what he could, and our Charismatic Dan almost got to be the final girl, escaping from the Dog and Baboon Hawk hell at the ship, but alas, cruel fate did win this time. So, pretty much all on brand.
Several times during this, I heard an ice cream truck, and paused to see if it was in the video. When I paused, the music stopped, and when I hit play, it resumed. I thought it was a strange inclusion. Then I finally paused and it _didn't_ stop, because it's actually in my neighborhood. It just had impeccable timing. [edit]: Just realized it was both. MAN was that strange.
"How long have we been friends?!" Yeah Dan, that's the PROBLEM!! 😂 God, sometimes Floyd is talking to himself and I am SO SCARED that something (mostly a blind dog) is gonna appear and destroy him. Like, to be fair, if I were alone and nervous, I'd be prone to talking to myself, too, but knowing what I know about Lethal Company just makes this so intense 😅 I would LOVE to see more of this, it's just too funny with you three! Well done!
Another thing is that talking to yourself raises your hidden insanity level (while being around other players lowers it), and the more insane you are the more likely it is that the ghost girl will appear :)
0:38 I just realised Emmons's name is "the_demons", 10/10 name. 12:27 Lethal Company is one of those "content generator" games that I never know how to feel about... but at least it's made pretty solidly. 57:56 Dan Jones was too much of a snack. 1:00:18 Something, something walk without rhythm. 1:12:17 Dan Prime has ascended to Frog Detective. 1:17:28 Ah, someone found a turret. 1:20:00 that is one way to figure out if Emmons is dead, yea.
Land mines are the best piece of comedy in this game: BOOM! "Oh... There was a landmine at the other side of the door" "Pick that up, is a roomba" BOOM! "Oh, that's a landmine!" BOOM! BOOM! "You did that on purpose, but it didn't work, you dummy" Same punchline, but equally effective in each case.
1:14: That's me. I've seen people talk about it, and I've seen a couple of clips, but I have no context for those clips. 3:10: I'm stuck at 240p so I didn't notice much unusual. Anyways, the whole game has a sort of "cheap early Unity game" aesthetic, and messing with resolution like that adds to it. Neat. 5:40: And that slightly garbled voice reminds me of when I was a kid and walkie-talkies were the most advanced mobile communication devices I had ever used. They were so cool back then. [disconnect noise] 20:45: ...that sounds unsafe, inefficient, and as likely to fry a flashlight as charge it. 44:25: ...how is Jones _always_ the first to die? He has ~15 times as much experience as the other Dans put together, doesn't he? 59:10: Aye. 59:18: Aye! 59:25: That's what I get for watching this a week late. 12:30: Not quite what Dan said, but I heard "comedy-horror-QWOP thing"...hm... 23:40: A moment for the 2024 highlight reel, I'm sure. 32:15: That clipping should bother me, but it doesn't. See the "cheap early Unity game aesthetic" thing. 32:25: Same with the ragdoll flailing as it gets pulled through a solid collision mesh. That's a classic problem. 36:36: Karmariffic? 48:05: Well where _else_ would the gravity come from?? 1:20:00: Another highlight moment. Putting together what Jones meant by "we can find out real quick" in the few seconds between that and the explosion.
Edit(s): Yes, please! I'd love to see more Lethal Company sheDANigans :D I am among those who have never experienced this game before! Happy to know what it's all about, and even happier to have some quality Dan^3 content to enjoy!
My experience with this game is entirely watching Barry Kramer and friends stream it. they haven't in a while so a lot of this stuff is new to me. Like the spiders making cocoons of people they kill, that's new to me.
This was very much like when the Dans played PUBG, but even more so. I was going to make a joke about how the character models look like a live-action version of Among Us and that the pointing emote is how they accuse one another of being sus. But the fact that, when you die, you stay dead and go into spectator mode makes it feel _way_ more like Among Us than I imagined. I would _love_ to see more of these she-Dan-igans!
Three whole Dans? Such great assets. I've not played this myself, but I've watched Barry and Jones play it numerous times. It is always a terrifying and hilarious experience. I hope we get to see Floyd's reactions to some of the other creatures.
Okay, having watched it now you 3 must do many more of this, Floyd’s humor and caution and sense of wonder mixes quite well with this game’s learning curve. I would watch the heck out of a “The Dans learn Lethal Company” series!
Absolutely stellar work, Dan^3. A perfect followup to Final Fantasy Edgelord. Dan Emmons just comes in and kills it every time: Mystical Ninja (Starring Goemon) was a treat, and "Aw Beans." was simply perfect. Thank you!
pleaaase do more you guys bring such a delightful energy to an already very delightful game. not to mention you havent even gotten to the hard planets yet (the ones that cost money)
Lethal Company 👀👀👀👀👀 20:16 these lil guys are funny lol 😄 35:56 HEHEHEHEHE 44:41 oop not the bracken 😂 55:40 Dan, you need to turn on arachnophobia mode and see the spider at least once. Trust me 😂 This was fun! I’d love to see more 😊
Ever times you do a video with the Dans, I think of that bit from SnapCube Real-Time fandub of Until Dawn (part 2 at 9:29) when they go on "Dan's cliff" and all the deers are Daniel. "We are all Daniel"
I've seen this game around a lot, but this is the first time I sat down and decided to watch one of these playthroughs. That was really entertaining! And yes Dan Jones soooo stepped on that landmine on purpose! XD
24:50 after the introduction of everyone's experience only to find out *no one* in the group has played since the new update dropped? Made me laugh aloud and reminded me of one of my favorite monster movies-- Tremors Aftershocks. It was the first sequel in the series, and introduced the idea that the monsters go through metamorphosis as part of their reproductive cycle-- so one tunneling worm becomes 3 terrestrial murder emus who Eat Their Way Out Of Their Parent. They're blind and deaf, but can sense body heat. Their hunger is Literally never ending, so they constantly hunt to produce clones from the gathered nutrients at an alarming rate. Meanwhile their Parent Worm was particularly dangerous because of its sense for sound, and passed through daily cycles of feeding and rest like an apex predator and thus could be trusted to Heck Off for a while after eating a cow or some goats. Once The New Ones were discovered by the protagonists, The One Who Was Old Hat At This And Came Prepared immidately went missing. Then the guy who's done this dance before and didn't love it and The New Guy are left to deal with the new threat while realizing It's A New Ballgame.
Love this! I just played this with friends when this came out. Might I suggest trying out a few mods, such as the Skinwalker mod? Takes things to a whole new level imo.
The experienced players trying to bait the new player into making one of the more harmless mistakes reminds me of when I got some friends to play Borderlands 2 with me. I just stood back and waited when Claptrap said "Just run through the electric fence! It won't hurt if you go fast enough!" My friends always turned around, noticed me looking at them expectantly, and said "I'm not doing that." I'd feel pretty stupid for being the only one to run into the electric fence if I wasn't also the only one of my friends that could solve the logic puzzles in the Law and Order sidequests.
I'm still vaguely hoping for a multi-Dan Terraria someday. Partly because side-view 2D Minecraft is more spectator friendly than first-person 3D, and partly because sooner or later, there's going to be a time where a Dan emerges from the depths to find that another Dan has been busy with a building project - or when a Dan logs in and another Dan says they got bored and did a little redecorating between sessions...
Actually, watch the Illusory Wall video on how the mechanics of that bridge works. The irony being that it's actually safer to jump on it while you're not carrying anything than to run across it with 3 people (as you all did). How it works is that it loses health while you're on it, losing health more rapidly based on the total weight on it. If you jump, it pauses the health loss. But even jumping, 3 people carrying something heavy in quick success, or any 2 people carrying something heavy at the same time, will break it.
I HAVE NEVER CLICKED A TH-cam THUMBNAIL FASTER. Hm, Jones has played this a bajillion times by now (I love watching his friends play it) and Floyd presumably hasn’t… Emmons is gonna be the X-factor here. Can’t wait.

Soos: Don't worry guys, I know literally everything there is to know about zombies. *Gets bitten.*
Soos: On second thought, flip the script...
Also a very Dan Jones thing to have happen
The comedic timing is so good I almost wonder if Dan edited in jokes afterward.
"I'm going to leave both walkie talkies here, I assume we're going to stick together until we get out of here"
[Turns around, Emmons is gone]
"I don't like how quiet it just got"
And of course:
Dan F: "That looks like a landmine"
Emmons: *explodes on landmine
Jumping to say "stay quiet" followed by "It can't get up here, can i-" is peak Lethal Company.
"i'm assuming we're sticking together"
[silence]
Dan stepping on a landmine to try to kill Dan to check if Dan was dead or alive was such a Dan thing to do
1:12:17 - The way you slowly slip into your Frog Detective voice on your way outta the facility is just *chef's kiss*.

23:23 “We tried our best. We thought about it, then we saw something move.”
