Worked perfectly! I have a 2009 Chevy Malibu, V6, stupid f’ing white clip would not release. Took me about 2 hours for the entire project because I’m a beginner at this nonsense but it definitely could have been shorter if I knew what I was doing. But still great video
Hey my purge canister hose on the left hand side of the engine that has a 90 degree turn has a hole in the hose, I ordered the new hose but cannot find anything online of how to access or replace the hose. I just don’t know where at the hose connects. Please enlighten me with any ideas! Thanks, Carson
hello i have 08 chevy malibu and the 8mm bolt bracket that holds the purge valve is very tight and is like a 13 mm bolt, is there anyway we can change the part without taking off the bolt that holds that bracket?
Well if it stuck open then it getting more air then usual then is possible to get p0171..unmeter extra air so lean will mean more fuel then air...I would suggest fuel injector..o2 sensor etc
The pcv is in the intake manifold and is not a conventional design best to research on your own time for a better understanding and look up you tube videos on intake manifold pvc cleaning
Jesse. I would just scan the OBD2 port or have it done for free at like a Autozone, Advance Auto parts etc.. See what the results are and go from there. Its not likely but I have bought a brand new valve before that was bad right out of the box. Not likely but possible .Best of luck with it.
Can a faulty purge valve throw a general code for just one cylinder? I don’t trust the obd since I’ve discovered problems that don’t match the codes given but after addressing the problem it fixes the code. Also some major problems with the car with no codes sometimes. Gotta get in and do it old school.
I believe that a bad purge valve would affect all cylinders, not just one. So I'm not sure what's going on with yours. Common things with the 2.4 ecotec are the purge valve, and the cam timing actuator solenoids, and they can make the car run bad and then just work right and its a little hard to diagnose at times. Anyway, best of luck with it.
Lol u don't trust the obo scanner but it's doing its job ? ..so you shouldnt trust your car, instead, but if u don't trust the scanner then how are you gonna know what's wrong with it, with out it 😅 .., u say u discovered codes that don't match the problem? Do you not know, one code , can be a number of bad things that can cause 1 code?
You're a legend thanks for this. Very easy to follow along, take care man!!
Thanks, you too! Glad the video was helpful.

Question does this help with a p0172 code on fuel running rich
Well if it stuck open then it getting more air then usual then is possible to get p0171..unmeter extra air so lean will mean more fuel then air...I would suggest fuel injector..o2 sensor etc
Hi I have the same car.. do you know where the PVC valve is?

It looks like I may need to possibly remove the intake manifold to locate where the hose connects. Although I am not positive
So I replaced the purge valve and when I started the car check engine light was off then came on later
