That seafood bowl with all kinds of things on it would cost $50+ in the US. Because fresh and homemade food cost a premium price in the US. I honestly don’t know how this place can sell such fresh quality for such a low price, but I’d like to stop by if visiting there. 🙂
it is so difficult to watch from so far away. As always, the stuff looks amazing and all chefs say the same: they do what they do for the common good. The food is so cheap, even in Osaka and Tokyo I was amazed what quality you get for little money.
I agree, for me Japan is now also very cheap (with my swiss salary). However, I think it is quite different for Japanese people, as their salary is much lower, and makes eating out not so cheap.
When I watch stuff like this I realize chiefs and cooks who make fresh homemade meals for the public like this are doing an incredible irreplaceable service for society.
Surf Clam Curry..? New one to me... wow... only available Hokkaido..? I bet Tomakomai City is cold in December... only month I can ever go to Japan... that said... Surf Clam Curry aside... there appears to be 25 variations of Surf Clam as menu options... and I've never tasted one... the bowls complemented sea urchin, shrimp & salmon look amazing... well worth a rethink on travel plans to taste a small number of the others ;-)

ここは人気が出過ぎて店に入るまでの待ち時間が長すぎるからなあ。。
夜中の1時半位からお店入られて準備をコツコツとされている。
待たないで食べたいなら04:30-04:40に入り口で立っていればほぼ１週目で食べれるよ。
もしくは
目の前にあるマルミであまり待たずに食べたら良いんじゃないかな？
