3:58 The Northwest Passage does indeed exist. It was discovered in 1850 when searching for the lost expedition of Sir John Franklin, who went searching for the Passage in 1845, unfortunately failing, ice bounding the ships, and dying in 1847. Robert McClure became the first person to confirm and transit the Northwest Passage by a combination of sea travel and sledging during the expedition searching for Franklin.
In 1906, the Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen was the first to complete the passage solely by ship, from Greenland to Alaska in the sloop Gjøa.
A little background about the video: It shows alternate realities where each member isn't a part of the band, as well as featuring previous members of the band. This also plays on the "multiple Brittanies" thing - the real Brittany wearing the ring on her ring finger (not the pinky).
FINALLY! Someone who knows history 😊. This song's a cover of a Canadian folk song. Also I do suggest Tonight We Ride next and you should try and do an interview with her 🤘😊🤘
Oh my! I heard the Archers cover of Northwest Passage three days on CBC Calgary and was absolutely gob smacked! I am a old 75 + rocker, and have been missing this sound. Have listened to everything I could since. This band is spectacular!

Great reaction! I like how the video was a bit of a metaphor for the dream for the Northwest Passage. Each "Reality" that was shown was another path to find the Northwest Passage/UTA and the only way you fail is when you give up. The Brittany that saw all of the realities ran essentially gave up on the dream of the Northwest Passage/UTA. That Brittany was removed from the dream and thus was no longer apart of it.
To put this song into context, OSN, it's about how the decisions we make, make us who we are. Cliché, I know, but if you watch the video, you'll notice the tombstone and how at least 3 different times, they tried to get the band started, to get it off the ground.
This song strikes me as a "What if...?" song, because so many people dream of being in a band, and making it big. But then reality hits, and it's like any other professional career where the money seems easy, like an athlete or race car driver. The fact is, a lot of bands stay dreams, and Northwest Passage is about taking that risk, despite everybody telling you to play it safe.
And because of that, this is actually a really inspiring song for anyone and everyone to chase their dreams, no matter who you are, no matter where you started out.
I had the pleasure of seeing Unleash the Archers right before covid hit and the lockdowns began.. Dragonforce headlined the show.. Was the last show I went to and it even sold out! I also think it was the last show of their tour even as the tour was cancelled because of Covid.. I will never forget it..

I know I'm late to the party, I only recently watched your reaction to Awakening which was effing amazing! The passion you had for that video alone caused me to subscribe.
With that said, I really hope you have a chance to check out their song Apex. It's from the same album as Awakening, but is the last track and completes that chapter. Love the reactions and keep them coming!
Definitely check out "Abyss" and "Tonight We Ride." And if you are familiar with The Cranberries - Zombie (likely you are), Brittney did a cover of that song.
The Northwest Passage actually DOES exist now (thanks climate change), ships have been using it semi-regularly since 2013 and Canada's actually been investing reasonably in our military for the first time in a long time because we keep squabbling with the US and Denmark about exactly where the sea borders are now and we want to make sure we can maintain a presence up there (even if we couldn't really stop anyone, we can't really cry foul if we don't at least show the flag).
Also the story of finding Franklin's ships is one of my favorite story about people being arrogant. 300 years on and off they looked for the HMS Terror, even went to satellite pictures, when that became available, and couldn't find anything. Then in the 2010s an Inuit from the area who had joined the military mentioned he'd seen some wreckage in an area they hadn't searched before, and they went to an inuit village around there and the locals basically went "Yeah, it's over there, you can see the mast from here on a clear day. No one's ever bothered to ask us before."

You absolutely nailed it on the authenticity. I only follow artists and bands that are authentically good people and Brittney is one of the best. I don't expect it but she responds to most of my tweets and her responses are always warm and genuine. Lzzy Hale is another one. Her fan base is much larger but she still takes the time responding and encouraging fans. What I notice is that they choose to be there with you in that moment for however long it lasts.
