A dear, old friend of mine lives in Bowie. Sadly, we are no longer on speaking terms, but seeing you drive through the familiar roads and neighborhoods make me feel comforted, if not a little sorrowful. What a gorgeous day. Thank you.
Raised in Bowie's Kenilworth section from age 3 until I moved to Arizona at 22. Been back to visit many times. Unfortunately, the entire area has turned in to a complete rat race. No going back now, but to see it today makes me extremely sad. The community (as a whole) has definitely gone WAY downhill and will continue to do so as the Levitt homes push 60 years old. Some parts are unrecognizable. Kenilworth Elementary is terribly dilapidated and in need of a major renovation. I took my girlfriend for a visit and nostalgic walk around Foxhill pond and you can't even walk on the pathway for the sheer volume of dog feces. Smells terrible and the pond is nothing but a swamp now with a little open, muddy water in the middle. I used to work for Park & Planning, Landscape Development Dept., and their quality of care for the county's parks has become abysmal. I only have one friend left in Bowie and is the only reason I would ever enter the city limits again. Too too bad for a place I loved so much! What memories, but unfortunately only memories. The REAL Bowie is gone and now only a shell exists.
I live in NOVA and I’m thinking about moving there. May I ask why you prefer NOVA over Bowie? I want to move to MD, but I’ve become comfortable with NOVA.
@@Kim-Berly200 Oh I was still it high school and for my last year we moved back to NOVA. Been here now for a very long time. I’m about to leave this place too. Over populated! But Fairfax, , Sterling and Reston are still nice with some space to spare.
@@nataliebohemian I definitely understand. Glad to hear it wasn't anything negative specifically about Bowie. It's definitely in my top 3 areas to consider when I leave Atlanta. Thanks for answering and all the best.
Right at the start an illegal right turn at 00:15. Sign is clearly visible at 00:26. Too bad you do not need to be able to read to obtain a driver's licenses in Maryland. Just see different colors and shapes.
Looking forward to moving to Bowie from Atlanta. Atlanta is tooooo Hollywood.
Thanks for sharing

I used to live here. It's soo crowded in that area now. I visit every once in a while from NOVA.

@@Kim-Berly200 Look into Mitchellville or Crofton. Bowie is over crowed too as well now.
I grew up there & left in the fall of 2003. The Bowie/Annapolis area has changed & not for the better
I just saw a comment about Bowie and well… BOWIE IS GREAT
Você é um verdadeiro guia turística mano.
Ugh, I miss Bowie. :(
Why'd you move away?
We miss you too
@@TheOriginalCryptoPimp Life happened. My parents sold their house and moved and I ended up living in Baltimore.
